In the underground training base of the Yanhuang Academy, Yang Fan pushed open the door to Training Room No. 44 with Li Mang, and the sound of kicking could be heard inside. It wasn't the usual shouts, but the pure sound of the wind from the kicks, which even Li Mang could sense the strength from the wind.
This was a large hall of eighty square meters, with no excessive training equipment, only five bronze statues standing inside. These bronze statues were embedded with thick copper plates at their feet, allowing them to stand steadily. What caught the eye were the dented marks on the bronze statues.
Li Mang wasn't naive enough to think these were made by iron hammers; they were more likely the result of training with fists and feet. What surprised him even more was that these bronze statues seemed to be solid, and it would take immense strength to leave such marks!
Inside the training room, a middle-aged man was kicking, each kick producing a whistling sound. No matter how he kicked, flipped, or turned, his body always remained firmly planted, his stance so stable that it seemed to be embedded in the floor.
"Clang!"
Suddenly, the middle-aged man kicked a nearby bronze statue. With a loud clang, the heavy bronze statue couldn't withstand the force and flew off the ground.
"Bang!!!"
When the bronze statue hit the ground, the entire training room shook. Li Mang's face changed slightly; he realized he had underestimated the weight of the bronze statue and the strength of this man.
"This bronze statue weighs five tons!" Yang Fan, noticing Li Mang's shock, smiled and introduced it.
"Five tons!" Li Mang was speechless. That was several thousand pounds! Yet, with a single kick, the man had sent the entire bronze statue flying. Such strength was beyond his reach.
"You're here!" The middle-aged man nodded lightly to Yang Fan, his expression always cold, showing no particular respect. He then picked up a towel from the side to wipe his sweat.
What surprised Li Mang was that the man seemed to have an injured foot, walking with a slight limp, though not very noticeable. For a martial artist, this would significantly reduce his strength!
"This is Cheng Wei, a martial arts fanatic in our group. He hasn't left the training room for a year, so you haven't met him!" Yang Fan whispered to Li Mang. Before Li Mang could respond, he continued, "Cheng Wei is skilled in various techniques, making him the perfect teacher for you. However, he has a bit of a temper, so you might suffer a bit!"
"..." Li Mang nodded woodenly, feeling a vague sense of unease.
"Want to practice martial arts? Come over, don't stand there hesitating!" Cheng Wei, with a blank expression, interrupted their conversation.
"Cheng Wei, from now on, Li Mang will be under your training... You can start training, I'll be leaving!" With that, Yang Fan irresponsibly left Li Mang in Training Room No. 44.
"Attack me with all your strength!" Cheng Wei, with a blank expression, gave Li Mang his first order, which was indeed an order, leaving no room for refusal!
"I haven't even started learning yet!" Li Mang responded bluntly. When he had walked over, he had used all his strength to push the bronze statue, but it hadn't moved an inch. This was the gap between them.
Cheng Wei raised his thick eyebrows, slightly displeased, and said, "I will control my strength to match yours!"
"..." Li Mang knew that if he refused, he would get beaten, so he gritted his teeth and agreed. He clenched his fists and stepped forward, delivering a full-force punch to Cheng Wei's abdomen— "Bang!"
Cheng Wei didn't dodge, letting Li Mang's punch land on him. However, Li Mang didn't feel any satisfaction; his fist was throbbing and turning red.
"Weak!" Cheng Wei snorted coldly and suddenly kicked, showing no mercy, not even for a sparring match. He kicked Li Mang hard.
"Clang!"
Li Mang was sent flying and crashed into a bronze statue, the second impact making his throat feel sweet and his eyes filled with stars.
"Get up, attack me!" Cheng Wei's expression remained unchanged.
"I'm not your match, is it fun to play with me?" Li Mang was irritated.
"I know you're not my match!" Cheng Wei showed no intention of comforting him, only saying coldly, "Only through combat can I see what training you need!"
"What if I don't attack?" Li Mang asked bluntly.
"Don't attack?" Cheng Wei's cold gaze made Li Mang feel danger. Indeed, the next moment, Cheng Wei suddenly moved, taking a long step to stand a meter in front of Li Mang, and without hesitation, kicked down at him!
"Clang!"
The bronze statue behind Li Mang was kicked away, crashing heavily five meters away. The shock made Li Mang break out in a cold sweat as he narrowly avoided it.
"Will you attack?" Cheng Wei asked coldly.
"I will!" Li Mang had no choice but to stand up, using all his strength to attack Cheng Wei. The result was obvious: Cheng Wei remained firmly standing, while Li Mang quickly became covered in injuries. But Cheng Wei didn't let up, continuing until Li Mang was completely exhausted and lying motionless on the ground.
"Brute strength, slow reaction, no technique, weak!" This was Cheng Wei's evaluation of Li Mang, leaving him no face.
"You're just stating the obvious. If I weren't like this, why would I come here to train?" Li Mang, lying on the ground, was like a dead pig not afraid of boiling water, giving Cheng Wei a white eye!
"You..." Cheng Wei hadn't expected Li Mang to not only show no remorse but also to defy him! But upon reflection, Li Mang was right. If he weren't lacking in ability, why would he come to Training Room No. 44? To seek punishment?
"Come here for training tomorrow morning!" Cheng Wei said in a dry voice, dismissing him.
"Morning won't work. After you mess with me, how can I go to work normally?" Li Mang responded irritably. Although his freedom had increased, he was still the secretary of Team Nine and couldn't train all day like other members of the Yanhuang Academy.
"..." Cheng Wei's voice carried a hint of helplessness. "Then in the evening!"
"Okay, but I need to lie down for a while, otherwise, I won't have the strength to get up!" Li Mang was blunt, not trying to be cute but genuinely exhausted, unwilling to speak more.
"..." Cheng Wei's face darkened slightly, then he ignored Li Mang on the ground and resumed his training.
Cheng Wei's training was simple and unadorned, just continuously using his fists and feet to strike the five bronze statues. This simple and unadorned training method, however, earned Li Mang's respect. Continuously colliding with the bronze statues, Cheng Wei never seemed to feel pain, his body strength was terrifying. Additionally, his seemingly ordinary strikes used different angles and techniques each time. Although Li Mang didn't understand ancient martial arts, he could feel the surging power, which was awe-inspiring.
His foot was slightly limping, but Cheng Wei showed no discouragement; his fighting spirit was even more intense, which was truly admirable.
