Chapter 28

Today, I'll do my best to update! I hope you enjoy it!
Proceeding cautiously through the lowermost level of the Aion Ruins Labyrinth, we managed to reach just before the deepest part without encountering the Shadow Man again, which was fortunate.
"This is the deepest part."
I placed my hand on a rusted door that looked like a wall and turned to the three others.
"Is this the boss room?"
"Yes, it is. When I entered in the past, nothing happened. The door could be closed, and I even used it as a campsite before entering the Aul-Dread City Labyrinth."
However, this time, it might be different.
Given the strange situation, there might be some problem here as well.
"There's no reaction from the <Magic Perception>."
"I don't sense any disturbance in the spirit energy either."
...If that's the case, it should be fine.
"I'll cast some enhancements just in case before entering the boss room. Touching the entrance to the Aul-Dread City Labyrinth at the back will complete the quest. After that, we'll immediately return."
"Are we not going to check the back?"
"Maybe a quick peek is fine, but let's not go in."
"Got it!"
Each of us prepared and nodded to me.
After casting the necessary spells, I placed my hand on the door. Unlike a regular door, this one slid into the wall when I touched the handle.
"..."
Peering through the gap, I let out a sigh of relief.
"No enemies. Let's proceed."
I nodded to the three behind me and stepped into the deepest part of the Aion Ruins Labyrinth, which was the entrance to the Aul-Dread City Labyrinth.
"That's the entrance to Aul-Dread? It's amazing!"
Marina pointed to a huge, ornate archway.
As I thought before, ancient technology is on a different scale.
"According to one theory, the Aul-Dread City Labyrinth was originally inhabited by people, and this Aion Ruins Labyrinth was a building with shops."
"Then, what's beyond the Aul-Dread City Labyrinth?"
"Figuring that out is our task as adventurers."
I answered Marina's question with a light laugh.
The Aul-Dread City Labyrinth is still one of the dungeons that hasn't been fully explored.
There might even be a 'Gate of the Abyss' at its deepest part.
Research suggests that it was a magical tool used by the ancient people to travel to another world.
"Alright, touching the door will complete the quest."
◇
"..."
"Thank you for submitting the records. We will inform the client. Thank you for your report."
Before sunset, we returned from the Aion Ruins Labyrinth and headed to the Quarto Adventurer Guild without much rest.
We couldn't judge the urgency, and it didn't seem like something we could handle on our own.
So, we submitted the completion report and records as soon as possible.
This is the optimal solution for us as general adventurers.
"Everyone, good job."
After finishing the procedures at the quest counter, I called out to the three waiting at the table, who smiled, looking a bit tired.
The return trip was quite a rush, so they must be quite fatigued.
I feel a bit guilty.
"Youk, you must be the most tired. Good job."
Rain pulled out a chair and smiled at me.
"What, this is nothing."
On the way back, we proceeded with full control, just like when we were with the 'Thunderpike'.
I maintained enhancement spells on everyone, used magic potions for mana recovery and fatigue reduction without hesitation, and returned to town by the shortest route.
It might not have been necessary, but in such abnormal situations, it's often too late to find a place to escape when you realize the danger.
Using available resources to avoid risks is also part of a supporter's job.
"What did the guild say?"
"Nothing special. From here, it's the guild's job. There might be an interview, so let's take the next two days off and stay in Quarto. We can also do some sightseeing."
"Agreed! Let's go on a date with all four of us!"
Don't suggest something so outrageous so brightly.
Is it even a date with four people?
"I'm not familiar with this town, so it would help if Youk could guide us."
"I want to see magic items with Youk."
What a mix of tempting proposals.
For someone like me who doesn't have many good memories with women, it's a bit too attractive.
Honestly, I can't help but feel a bit flattered.
"Alright. If we're called, we'll go together anyway, so let's stick together and do some sightseeing tomorrow."
"Yay! I hope we can go to a restaurant with good food!"
"I want to visit the famous botanical garden."
"I want to go to the magic item bazaar...!"
...It's hard to do everything at once.
Okay, let's make a plan.
I'm not that familiar with Quarto either, so I'll ask the guild for recommendations later.
They probably want to keep track of our movements for the interviews.
"Alright, let's go for a celebratory dinner. There's a place nearby that serves delicious chicken dishes."
"Of course, Youk! You're so thorough!"
"Hmm... leave it to me. Supporting after adventures is also my job."
With the three laughing at my theatrical words, I headed towards the sunset in the streets of Quarto.
How was it? ('ω')
