I asked Philibert to prepare some medicine and bandages, and carefully tended to the rabbit's injured hind leg. The wound wasn't very deep, but since it was still bleeding, I thought it would be best to bandage it.

I lined a large basket with soft towels and placed the rabbit inside. The rabbit looked up at me with big, shiny black eyes.

Its large, shiny black eyes were so cute. I thought wild animals would be more wary of humans, but this one was strangely calm. Perhaps it had been someone's pet.

Without a name, it would be inconvenient, so I decided to call the rabbit "Ku-chan." Ku for the black "Ku-chan." It might seem a bit simplistic, but if it had been someone's pet, the owner might still be looking for it, so the name I gave it would be temporary. I don't think I need to agonize over a temporary name; the first name that comes to mind is fine.

"What do rabbits eat again? Carrots?"

Since it might be hungry, I left Ku-chan in the room and went to the kitchen to get some food. I asked for carrots, apples, and cabbage to be cut into appropriate sizes. When I returned to my room upstairs, Ku-chan was sitting quietly in the basket, waiting for me. What a well-behaved rabbit.

"Ku-chan, it's time to eat!"

I placed a plate with carrots and other foods in front of the basket, and Ku-chan hopped out, twitching its nose.

It sniffed the carrots and cabbage, and ultimately chose the apple. It might like apples.

Ku-chan grabbed the apple with its cute front paws and started munching away. I've never had a rabbit as a pet in either my past life or this one, but... it's so cute.

"Ku-chan"

When I called its name, it stopped eating and looked at me intently. Then, after a moment, it started munching again with its small mouth. Yeah, it's incredibly cute.

After eating all the apples and ignoring the carrots and cabbage, Ku-chan went back into the basket, curled up into a fluffy ball, and started to doze off. It might have gotten sleepy from a full stomach.

I placed the basket with Ku-chan on my bed and climbed into bed myself. I had planned to have a family meeting about making money, but I can do that later. Seeing Ku-chan sleep so contently made me feel sleepy too.

As I dozed off next to Ku-chan's basket, the servants must have finished their conversation. My maid, Gisela, who had come with me from the Felsenstein family, entered the room and started yelling with her eyes narrowed in anger.

"Miss! If you lie down in your dress, it will get wrinkled!"

Ku-chan and I both jumped up at Gisela's shouting almost simultaneously.
