Chapter 44

"Where there's a will, there's a way, huh... I didn't expect it to turn out so well."

I was standing in front of the wall I had built on my land, lost in thought.

Just a moment ago, the wall that I had been building to encircle the land had finally completed its full circle.

As I looked at it, I was thinking that if I put my mind to it, I could accomplish things.

The wall I had built was of an extraordinary size.

It was nearly 10 meters high and 5 meters thick.

I had arranged the bricks in a crisscross pattern and solidified the gaps with mortar.

Perhaps filling the internal space of the wall with sand or something similar would have made it more resistant to external impacts.

However, since I didn't know much about wall construction, I decided to go with a simple, thick wall.

I felt that my magical power was increasing as I grew.

As a result, the amount I could create with a single spell had increased compared to before.

I had felt this when I recreated the inn.

However, even with this, I could only create a wall about 5 meters wide at a time.

This meant I had to cast the spell every 5 meters to connect the sections of the wall.

At first, I almost gave up because the task seemed so long and arduous.

The idea of building a wall to encircle the fields and the horizon seemed unrealistic.

But, the work was completed much faster than I expected.

I can say it went better than I anticipated.

First, I had to verbalize the spell for wall construction.

Normally, verbalizing a spell is a difficult and time-consuming process.

Verbalization means that the spell is cast reflexively when the spell name is spoken.

However, to successfully verbalize a spell, one must continuously use the same spell after speaking the spell name.

In other words, it's like repeatedly muttering and throwing baseballs at a strike zone with the same trajectory and speed.

Can you imagine how difficult that is?

However, I succeeded in verbalizing the "wall construction" spell faster than the "scatter shot" spell.

This was because I used the same method I had used when creating the inn, which shortened the time.

I first clearly visualized the wall I wanted to build in my mind and created it with magic.

Then, I covered the wall with my magical power, allowing it to permeate and envelop it.

After covering the wall, which was a structure made of earth, with magical power, I used the "memory storage" spell.

This allowed me to perfectly and precisely memorize the structure of the wall in my brain with magical power.

By doing this, the task of repeatedly verbalizing the spell and reproducing the same magic became much easier, and I succeeded in verbalizing it quickly.

Thanks to this method, the work progressed smoothly, but there was another factor that significantly increased efficiency.

It was the existence of my servitor beasts.

Since I named my first-born Valkyrie, all my servitor beasts have been able to use magic.

More surprisingly, I found out that Valkyrie and the others could use the spells I had verbalized later.

This means that Valkyrie and the others could now use the "wall construction" spell.

The individuals I planned to sell to merchants had their horns removed, making them hornless.

However, I kept a few with their horns intact to hatch servitor eggs.

If they could use the "magical power injection" spell, Valkyrie and the others could hatch the eggs themselves.

This time, I brought about five of them to help build the wall.

Still, building a wall several kilometers long to encircle the fields was a daunting task.

So, I decided to use the magic mushrooms I had been growing for sale to replenish my magical power.

Magic mushrooms are the raw material for magical power recovery potions.

However, I didn't know how to make the potions, so I had been drying the mushrooms in the sun and selling them to merchants as dried mushrooms.

But, it turned out that even in their dried state, they were effective for replenishing magical power.

I and Valkyrie and the others chewed the hard mushrooms in our mouths and continued building the wall tirelessly.

"How about it, part-timer? Isn't it impressive?"

"Yeah, it's impressive, but... Are you an idiot? You don't even know where the entrance to the wall is."

When I was looking at the wall and the part-timer approached me, I received an unexpected response.

I thought he would be amazed...

But, now that he mentions it, he might be right.

The outer wall I built is square, and each side is probably about 4 kilometers long.

Where the entrance to such a distant wall is located.

Indeed, it might be hard to tell from a distance.

"... I didn't think about the entrance. What should I do?"

"Yeah... Maybe you should decide on a path leading to the entrance, different from the fields, so it's clear."

"A path, huh? I'll think about it."

Thus, the wall construction was completed, and I successfully prevented the wild boar damage.

However, a new problem emerged.
