"Let's set up camp here."

"Alus, what are you talking about?"

There is a river on the way south from Barka Village to the city. After stopping by the neighboring village to the southwest and successfully absorbing the fighting forces of the neighboring village, including Vargas, I had come to the river to the south. The river is not particularly large, but it has a considerable depth, so the places where people often pass are limited. If the Fontana family were to gather people and come to Barka Village, they would pass through here. I decided to take up position at this place first.

We set up camp on the north side of the river and prepared for the encampment. We gathered branches from the surrounding area to make a fire. During this time, I built structures one after another, mass-producing the inns that have become a standard.

We divided the group to perform [Land Leveling] and began to recreate the inns I remembered. The buildings increased rapidly. In just one day, a place resembling an inn town was formed on the north side of the river.

"Since we're at it, why don't we build a wall for defense as well?"

Our group, having absorbed the people from the neighboring village, now numbered over 100. Since the facilities we built could accommodate all of them, I couldn't help but get carried away. The Fontana family's people hadn't arrived yet, so I decided to build a wall while we had the chance.

"Huh? Are there people who can't use [Wall Construction]?"

However, something surprising was revealed. The people I had named and taught magic to could all use my unique magic. Despite this, some people couldn't use certain spells.

Upon a quick investigation, I found out that those who couldn't use spells that required a lot of mana. Moreover, it wasn't just that they couldn't use them; they hadn't even learned them.

When I named someone, it was as if the magic information was directly input into their brain, and they learned the spell. At that time, they could roughly understand what the spell's effect was, along with its name. Even without practical experience, they could understand things like how much area [Land Leveling] could cover at once. However, those who hadn't learned [Wall Construction] didn't even know such a spell existed after being named, nor did they know what kind of wall it could create.

I had a thought. I gathered the people who could and couldn't use [Wall Construction] to observe them. While observing, I focused my mana on my eyes to see the amount of mana each person possessed.

"Sure enough. The ones who can't build walls have less mana."

As I suspected, those who couldn't use [Wall Construction] generally had less mana. There seemed to be a standard. [Wall Construction] creates a fairly large wall, so it uses a lot of mana in one spell. Even I had to drink mana recovery potions while building walls around my land. It seemed that if a person's total mana was insufficient for the amount used in one spell, the magic wouldn't even be input as knowledge.

This might be a mechanism to protect the person's body. I had previously lost consciousness from using an amount of mana that was disproportionate to my body. It was a state akin to mana deficiency, and I couldn't get up for several days. If someone with insufficient mana were to learn a spell that used all their mana in one go, they might lose consciousness before the spell even activated, and it could be dangerous. To prevent this, it might be a defensive instinct or a mechanism of the magic array that only allows people with sufficient power to learn appropriate spells.

I'll keep this issue in mind for further investigation. I'll also track whether people who have been named can use [Wall Construction] once their mana increases. Incidentally, there were also people who couldn't use [Road Construction], which, like [Wall Construction], required a lot of mana due to the wide road setting. However, everyone could use spells like [Land Leveling], [Soil Improvement], [Body Strengthening], and [Shotgun], which were more combat-oriented. For now, this shouldn't be a problem for future battles.

Despite being puzzled by the mysterious phenomena of the naming magic array, I managed to surround the camp on the north side of the river with walls. Just as the camp was completed, information about the Fontana family came from the old merchant.
