Chapter 10

Both Silt and Lanz were, from the moment they were assigned, very mindful of their place. They acted more as guardians than playmates.
Basically, they are ordinary guardians.
No matter where I go, they follow silently without stopping me, and they remove any dangerous objects from my path in advance.
However, they don’t just follow me around like statues. They would tell me things like, "This flower is called ○○ and can be used as an herb depending on how it's processed," or "Over there is where such and such is located," even when I was in a daze and it wasn’t clear if I was listening or not.
In this way, they taught me about my mother and the Marquessias family.
These two, when I go to bed, read me bedtime stories, but they pull out the Royal Code for this. And they even provide explanations.
Isn’t that a bit much?
I’m grateful for their teaching me about my mother and the Marquessias family.
But the Royal Code of the Kingdom of Rave is supposed to be forbidden to take out of the royal library.
How did they manage to get it out?
The more I think about it, the less I can believe these two are just servants. After all, they are the grandson of that butler.
"Hey, just to confirm, you’ve put the Royal Code back in its original place, right?"
I haven’t heard any news about the Royal Code going missing, and there hasn’t been any commotion. I don’t think these two would make such a mistake, but I’d rather they didn’t do anything risky.
Not for ethical reasons, but for my mental peace of mind.
"That is something Master Albert has already studied."
"We have already returned it."
Silt always wears a pleasant smile, while Lanz answers with an impenetrable expression.
Even when I give them a suspicious look, they don’t seem to care at all.
They are quite mysterious, but they do their job well for me, so I guess it’s okay to trust them?
"By the way, aren’t you two going to leave with my mother?"
The old butler and the maid who was by my mother’s side have already left the palace.
Most of the Marquessias family’s servants who worked here have been replaced, except for the gardener and the head chef.
Many of them had been with my mother for a long time, away from Fulftball. If my mother is going back to my grandfather, it makes sense to let those who followed her return to their families.
So, the servants were all replaced. The gardener and the head chef decided to stay because they wanted to work by my side.
I thought these twins would also leave, but when I asked, they showed no signs of doing so.
"We are Master Albert’s property."
"We will follow Master Albert wherever he goes."
That’s a heavy response.
What do you mean, "my property"? What did that old butler teach his grandchildren?
And, could it be that these two are my personal attendants? It seems that way.
Silt still has a smile on his face, and Lanz is still expressionless.
I have a lot of questions, but I feel like asking them all would be pointless.
So, for now...
"Alright, I’ll count on you."
Just don’t overdo it.
As if sensing my inner thoughts, both of them, at the same time, bowed. Silt placed his right hand over his heart and bowed his head, while Lanz performed a curtsey.
"We are honored, my lord."
The chapter of the prince’s awakening ends here.
There is also a character introduction posted today.
From the next chapter, we will follow the prince’s carefree life in the royal palace after changing his path from king to marquis, as well as his interactions with the queen and the second prince, whom he hasn’t heard from in a while.
