"Wh-What are you guys doing!"
One person came down the stairs. It wasn't the injured man, nor the arrogant guy who had kicked Nebel. He threw the bag he was holding and approached us.
"How did you get out!"
"The door was unlocked?"
Pretending to be innocent, I said this, and the man, looking displeased, passed by the room where Gelp was hiding. At the same time, Gelp silently came out of the room, covered the man's mouth, wrapped his arm around the man's neck from behind, and twisted it in an unnatural direction.
With a sickening crack, the man collapsed, foaming at the mouth.
Rest in peace. Namu Namu.
"Ah, we did something bad," Nebel muttered, picking up the bag the man had thrown and checking its contents.
"Oh, really?"
The bag contained bread. It seemed they had brought us our meal.
But there was no other choice. In this world, it's survival of the fittest. Since they had kidnapped us, who looked like we were from a noble family, they must have been prepared for this.
I opened the door to the room where the Princess of Einhorn was hiding and spoke to her, who was looking frightened.
"Don't turn around and follow me. Even if you look, don't scream."
I warned her properly.
We climbed the stairs from the basement and reached the upper room.
This mansion used to belong to a noble family, I bet. The layout suggests that. Plus, the basement we were just in. It wasn't just one room; there were several rooms on either side of the corridor, so it probably served as a dungeon.
The entrance to the basement is connected to a small room next to the stairs in the center of the entrance hall.
As we stepped into the entrance hall, we were about to climb the stairs to the second floor when we were spotted by the arrogant guy.
"You bastards! Why are you here!!"
The arrogant guy's shout must have reached the remaining thugs in the hall.
Muttering, "What's going on?" they slowly came out into the entrance hall.
"The door was unlocked, so we went outside."
"There's no way! Who are you!"
Why did it take so long for them to notice Gelp?
"I'm the gardener of this house."
When I answered for Gelp, the arrogant guy raised his voice even more.
"What?! Why is your gardener here!"
"Because you guys kidnapped me, of course."
Even if I hadn't been kidnapped, since Sylt and Lanz were not with me, the dark agents of Marquess Marcossius would have followed.
The arrogant guy, displeased with my answer, started shouting again.
"What the hell are you talking about!!"
"I'm just answering your question."
Why do I have to have such a stupid conversation?
"Get back to the basement!!"
"No way. It's damp, moldy, and unhygienic down there."
"Stop kidding around!!"
"I'm not kidding."
"You brat!!"
The moment the arrogant guy approached us, two shadows descended from the second floor, and in an instant, the heads of the thugs, except for the arrogant guy, were separated from their bodies and rolled on the floor.
"Please be quiet."
"Please do not approach our master any further."
Two knives were pointed at the right eye and neck of the arrogant guy, held by the twins dressed in the butler and maid uniforms of the House of Marquess Marcossius.
"Sylt, Lanz. I want to settle this, so don't kill him. There's one more person. Don't kill him either."
Lanz kicked the arrogant guy into the wall, and Sylt dodged the attack from the injured man who had appeared from the door the arrogant guy had come out of.
"Hey, what's going on here?"
Despite the disadvantageous situation, the injured man didn't cry out shamefully. Yeah, he's tougher than the arrogant guy.
"My family was worried when I didn't return by nightfall, so they sent someone to fetch me."
When I answered, the injured man shifted his gaze from Sylt to me and then back to Sylt.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, they came to fetch me."
Sylt and the injured man were in a stalemate.
But Lanz approached the unconscious arrogant guy who had been pushed into the wall, cut his clothes with a knife, and tied his hands and feet with the cut pieces of clothing.
"Um, will the client tell us?"
"That's a foolish question."
"Sylt could probably get it out of him with torture, but never mind. By the way, are you part of some organization?"
"What if I am?"
"I won't do anything. If such an organization exists, I'll eliminate it to prevent any future trouble."
If it doesn't exist, that's fine. If it's a criminal organization, I'll wipe it out.
"Good night. Have sweet dreams?"
As soon as I finished speaking, Sylt moved.
The injured man tried to counterattack with a knife, but it was deflected and spun to the ground.
The sound of the knife hitting the marble floor and Sylt slicing the injured man's neck with a knife were simultaneous.
With the head taken care of, I can relax for now?
"Your Highness, we have come to fetch you."
As if nothing had happened, Sylt bowed, and Lanz curtsied in front of me.
"Sylt, Lanz, good work."
This level of opponent is not enough for the twins.
"Sylt, can you find a bucket, fill it with water, and bring it here? And Lanz, do you have any cloth to blindfold someone?"
"I'll get it right away."
Sylt headed to the kitchen, and Lanz tore her apron with a knife.
"Use that to blindfold the princess."
The princess's eyes were covered by Gelp's hands, so Lanz used the torn pieces of the apron to blindfold her.
"Gelp, can you continue to cover her ears?"
"Yes."
I moved away from Gelp, who answered with a smile, and stood in front of the bound arrogant guy. I silently instructed Sylt to pour the water from the bucket he had brought over the arrogant guy.
With a splash, the arrogant guy woke up.
"Ugh, ah, you—"
"Do not speak without permission."
Sylt grabbed the arrogant guy's jaw and made him kneel.
"I didn't care about the others. There are various circumstances even for criminal acts. If they're not citizens of Fulftball, I don't care about their situations."
I channeled magic into a needle and stabbed it into the arrogant guy's knee.
"Ah!!"
I moved the needle back and forth.
"Ah, stop, stop—"
"But I won't forgive you for kicking Nebel."
Don't think you can die easily.
