Chapter 12 - The Secret of Plot Items

Qin Yu was not afraid of what The Lawless could do, so he directly reported his position.

A circular light door slowly opened behind him, and The Lawless walked out of it.

He and Qin Yu stood side by side, and glanced down: “This kind of feeling of looking down at everything is good, isn’t it? I used to like to run to the top to see the scenery. Said, this game is really amazing so that we can experience such a different feeling.” He emotionally said.

“Is there any problem, Brother Lawless?” Qin Yu turned around and asked indifferently. Strength determined status, with the Infinity Gauntlet in his hand, even if he was facing one of a few Sorcerer Supremes in the entire server, Qin Yu was not afraid.

In fact, it’s The Lawless who felt the oppression brought by the huge power from the giant body in front of him.

The power of the Infinity Gauntlet enveloped Qin Yu, making him subconsciously want to retreat.

He hurriedly laughed, resolving the embarrassment.

“Hehe, Brother Fat Green, you’re really quick to talk, so let go to the main topic. I wonder if you are interested in selling this Infinity Gauntlet? If you are interested, how about selling it to me?”

Qin Yu said in his heart: I have not used it enough yet, why should I sell it? However, he has been a businessman for a few years, because of his nature, everything could be bargained. Moreover, what Thanos said has concerned him, although he didn’t believe it, a strange feeling still lingered in his head. If he could sell this gauntlet for a good price, he didn’t mind making a deal. After all, he was not the kind of player who was extremely chasing after equipment. So after thinking about it, Qin Yu said: “It depends on what price you pay.”

“How much do you want?”

“At least ten million.”

Although one Infinity Stone cost about one million, and the gauntlet itself was actually not very valuable, it seemed to add up to six or seven million, but the problem was that the market was out of stock, not to mention the hardship of collecting a complete set. If he really wanted to auction this off, the gauntlet may be sold for 20 to 30 million.

“Ten million is probably a bit too expensive. After all, this gauntlet is the result of our joined efforts, so I should have some discount, shouldn’t I? How about three million?” The Lawless said solemnly.

Three million? Qin Yu couldn’t help but want to laugh. An Infinity Stone costs one million, thus six Infinity Stones must worth six million at least. Not to mention that this is a complete Infinity Gauntlet. Giving such a ridiculous price, what does he think?

To be honest, ten million was already a fair price. If it’s auctioned, Qin Yu thought that twenty to thirty million might be possible, but he was afraid of trouble, and he didn’t want to be too famous. The most important thing was that he always felt that how he gained it was a bit weird, so if he could simply sell it for 10 million, it’s acceptable. But the other party offered just three million, it’s a joke.

“Three million? Are you giving money to a beggar?” Qin Yu said disdainfully, turning around to leave.

The Lawless smiled slightly, “Don’t rush to refuse, and listen to me to explain my reasons first.”

Qin Yu nodded, “Okay, you can tell me your reasons.”

“You have never wondered why it has the [Unique Plot Item] type, haven’t you?”

Of course, I have . Qin Yu thought, but he didn’t change his voice, “Oh, do you know the meaning of this?”

“That’s right,” Lawless nodded. This annotation stated, “This Infinity Gauntlet is the original one. There are various plot events in the Marvel Universe game. You must be aware of it.

These plot events are all one-offs, and they happen one after another in a real chronological order. The dungeons we are playing now actually mirror images of plot events. ”

Qin Yu naturally knew this. Like the event that Thanos killed half of the universe in the game two years ago, which was called “Infinite War Event”. At that time, tens of thousands of players participated in this event, the battle between them and Thanos’ army created a corpse mountain and a blood sea. After many battles, New York, Titan, and Wakanda, Thanos was finally killed. That meant Thanos the plot character was dead, the one they were now fighting was actually a mirror image of Thanos.

The Lawless continued to say: “Players can participate in these plot events. With enough strength and a bit of luck, they can get loot from the plot events, and the loot obtained in the plot events is the so-called Plot Item. It can be said that it is the most genuine one, and the things dropped in dungeons are just the exact replica.”

“Why don’t I know?”

“Hehe, this is of course because the number of plot items is too small. After all, there may only be one genuine item, unlike ordinary equipment. Most of the plot items are in the hands of the plot characters, so even if you participate in a plot event, you have a very low chance of getting one or two. There are only a handful of people who have obtained plot items in the entire game, but I happened to have one.”

“What did you get?”

“Mordo’s Vaulting Boots of Valtorr. Dozens of us defeated him in the small plot event ‘Mordo’s Defection’. We snatched two plot items from him, and his pair of floating boots fell into my hands.”

Qin Yu said strangely, “Uh, why didn’t I see you wearing it? Since the floating boots are genuine, it must be better than a copy like your Cloak of Levitation.”

The Lawless shook his head, “It’s really strong, but it’s a pity that it’s gone. That thing was officially recycled by the game.”

“What? Is there such a thing?”

“Yes,” The Lawless nodded, “Later, I learned that the game company has been recycling plot items. According to them, they don’t want plot items to appear in the hands of ordinary players, as it will affect the development of the game world story, destroy other players’ willing suspension of disbelief.

Therefore, the plot items must remain in the hands of the plot characters to ensure the integrity of the game world. But I guess they have another reason, because many plot items actually disappeared in the end, such as those floating boots. After being recycled, the boots were nowhere to be found, and Mordo no longer had those boots when he appeared again.

To be honest, I am also very surprised why the original Infinity Gauntlet would drop here. It stands to reason that it should have been officially recycled when Thanos died two years ago.

But in any case, the official recycling of plot items is absolutely true. Once it is known, it will be recycled immediately. If the Infinity Gauntlet in your hand is known by the game masters, they will definitely take it back in a short time, so I said, your Infinity Gauntlet can only be worth three million. ”

Qin Yu was half-believing about what The Lawless has just said. Although it sounded like the truth, he wasn’t the kind of person who quickly believed what others said.

Qin Yu smiled slightly: “Then I just don’t let them know, and I won’t tell people that I have a plot item.”

The Lawless smiled, “But I will. I have a way to contact the game masters. Since the floating boots were recovered, they have told me that I should contact them as soon as possible if I found other plot items. There will be rewards for this, so if I tell them you have the legendary Infinity Gauntlet, which must be the ultimate plot item of this game, do you think how much will I get?”

Qin Yu was speechless for a while. Looking at The Lawless’ cocky expression, he said in his heart: how can this guy be so cheap?

“Aren’t you afraid that after I sell it to you, I will tell the game masters that the gauntlet is in your hands?”

The Lawless shook his head, “Hehe, that’s my concern, not yours. In short, what I said is absolutely true. You can sell it to me, or you can refuse it, and it will be recycled, and you will get nothing by then.”

Qin Yu didn’t believe him. Even if what The Lawless said was true, the game company couldn’t take it without giving some compensation. It may be more than three million.

In the worst case, he could sell it to other people who didn’t know about it.

The most important thing was that The Lawless’ sense of superiority made him very unhappy, so he didn’t intend to sell it to the other party.

So Qin Yu shook his head decisively, “Forget it, don’t think about buying this gauntlet with 3 million. I can go and wipe out S.H.I.E.L.D, Hydra, X-Men, the Brotherhood of Mutants, and the New York Sanctum. Even if my equipment is recycled, I can enjoy it for a long while. I have money, three million is nothing to me.”

The Lawless choke at these words, but he didn’t know what to say.

Qin Yu looked at his expression and felt quite refreshing. In fact, three million was still a lot of money for him, but he didn’t want to lose his pride for that much money.

“If you have nothing else to say, then I will leave.” Qin Yu said as he raised the Infinity Gauntlet. The Lawless took two steps back and looked at Qin Yu nervously, but Qin Yu smiled at him as if he was saying “You have fears, that’s good”. Then a blue light flashed and Qin Yu disappeared.

The Lawless looking at the back of Qin Yu leaving, his expression fluctuated for a while, and it seemed that he made a decision.
