Becoming a god: Cermiane’s point of view (4)

Ah, so this is what it means to connect with god almighty. I somehow understood. In order to borrow the power of almighty god as an emperor in the future, I will create a power connection with almighty god. I had heard that this ritual was meant to create a connection of power with the almighty god, but I wouldn’t have known this sensation without experiencing it myself. When I dedicate my magical power, the power of the deity descends. It permeates within me, allowing me to wield the power of the deity.

It was only then that I understood the reality of god and the meaning of his power. I must use this power that surpasses human limits to lead and enrich this empire. Realising this, I realised for the first time the awe of becoming an Emperor. It was true that the emperor of the empire is one of the gods.

When the ceremony was over and light dust rained down from the heavens, I felt as if I had been spiritually reborn somehow. I had a strong awareness that I was the Crown Prince. I accepted the weight of the fact that I would eventually become a divine emperor. The feeling that I had been somewhat bewildered until then disappeared, and what remained was a sense of preparedness and tremendous responsibility. I was responding to the cheers of the nobles, but I was also extremely afraid that I was going to become a god. But then Ralphine came up to me and whispered with a smile.

“That was cool. Mia.”

Somehow, I feel relieved after hearing that. That’s right. Becoming an Emperor and becoming like a god doesn’t mean that my essence will change. It’s like when Ralphine, who was just a noble lady, became recognized as the Crown Princess, but her essence remained the same. There’s no need to overthink it. As long as I don’t lose sight of myself, everything will be fine. And as long as Ralphine is by my side, I can stay true to myself.

We got into the carriage and this time we went to the cathedral. The emperor and queen were waiting for us in the cathedral. In front of a simple altar were the Crown Prince’s Crown and the Crown Princess’s Crown, and here we would receive them from Their Majesties. His Imperial Majesty had a look of relief on his face when he saw me. He must have realised that I had successfully established a connection with the almighty god and that I was now ready.

I knelt before the Emperor and said the words of my oath.

“The representative of the almighty god, great sun of the Empire, shining seat of glory, ruler of the East, West, North, South and West, guardian of the sword and the the scales, my beautiful Emperor, I, Cermiane, as the Crown Prince, pledge to dedicate all my power for the Emperor and the empire.”

“I also swear to support my husband, to be his queen, and to devote all my strength to the Empire and to the Emperor.”

Ralphine also swore firmly. The Emperor nodded and gently placed the Crown Prince’s crown on my head.

At that moment I involuntarily looked up, feeling the same sensation as I had connected to god almighty earlier. I was then surprised to find well-dressed people surrounding me and looking at me with smiles on their faces. There should have been no one there earlier except Their Majesties and Ralphine. They all look somewhat alike, and they all look at me with amusement. I shifted my gaze to the side and saw a familiar face there.

“!”

My brother was looking at me with a smile, as he was when he was in good health. Next to him was a clever-looking teenage boy, shoulder to shoulder with my brother. In front of him was a blond boy, about seven years old, looking up at me curiously.

I stopped breathing. I had never met him, he must be my two older brothers who died before I was born. To my horror, the elder brother raised his hand to me, as if to say ‘good luck’, and disappeared in a huff.

When I looked stunned, the Emperor smiled and said,

“Did you see it? It looks like you were accepted safely.”

“Father, that’s…”

“They are the successive members of the imperial family. They have come to assess your worth.”

I later learned that the imperial family, due to their strong connection with the gods, would become sacred spirits upon being buried in this holy ground, becoming eternal guardians of the empire. This means that my elder brother and the other princes will also become sacred spirits, watching over the empire and me from here. My heart warmed at the thought..

Ralphine, incidentally, was frightened for a while, saying that she had seen a ghost.

After leaving the cathedral, we climbed a tower located outside the outer walls of the Imperial Palace. From here, we would be presented to the citizens of the capital. As I looked down at the Capital from the tower, an incredible wave of excitement and cheers rose from below. It seemed that the majority of the capital’s citizens had gathered, all focused on me and Ralphine.

“Long live Crown Prince Cermiane!”

“Glory to the Empire!”

“Long live Crown Princess Ralphine!”

The people’s emotions roared and caused the tower to tremble. As I raised my hand, the cheers grew even louder, and the excitement made sweat appear on my forehead.

But for some reason I remained calm.I learned that I would become a god by connecting with the Almighty, and I discovered that the successive members of the imperial family, including my brother, protect the empire as sacred spirits. At the same time, there were nobles, led by the Marquis Caliente, who would support and stand by me, and the Emperor and Empress would also support me.

And above all, there is Ralphine. She looked up at me with a nervous face, but then smiled toothily and held my hand tightly.

“Let’s go. Mia.”

“Oh, Ral, as long as you’re with me, everything will be fine.”

I am supported by various people and beings. I am no longer alone. With confidence, I waved my hand vigorously at the enthusiastic citizens of the empire, for I had become the Empire’s crown prince.
