Of course, Rupert looked at her as if he heard some mad dog barks.

Immediately a cold answer came out.

“I should have just stated it from the start. I don’t intend to give you more money.”

“I don’t mean that. I’m asking you to let me borrow it. “

She knew he would give this kind of reaction. It’s obviously gonna sound objectively crazy.

Still, she added calmly.

“Of course I will take it as a loan from you. “

His voice became sharper.

“What the hell are you up to? You think I’m going to listen to you? ”

‘I guess so.’

His wife, who was in the worst kind of relationship possible with him. Suddenly asked him to lend her money. She felt glad that she didn’t get to hear any cursings.

But she shamelessly continued to maintain a ‘good face’.

First, let’s push it!

“Come on, listen to my explanation first, this time without thinking–”

“So what are you up to?”

Her words were cut off halfway. Rupert said he was sick and tired of it.

“Just summarize that ulterior motive in ten words. Before I can get rid of you quickly because I don’t want to hear your crap. “

“….”

Rupert’s patience with her was very short.

‘Is this my last chance?’

It was too difficult from the start itself!

“If you can’t do it, I’ll– “

He threw out those words in a hurry.

“I’m going to invest in the land. “

“…what? “

She thought he wouldn’t understand.

‘That’s why I said I’d explain.’

She didn’t want to use this extreme in-to-self method from the beginning.

‘But we don’t have time.’

Rupert’s inclination to reason and efficiency to the point of hindrance removal without any hesitation is well known.

‘This level of hostility might really get me killed.’

Naturally, operations that appeal to normal people didn’t work on such opponents. There was no pressure of filial responsibilities and expectations.

It’s better to just show him the purpose as quickly and precisely as possible.

‘In a short period of time, my value in his mind turned as low as the existence of a mere rock.’

So she planned to bring him a huge fortune by giving him a piece of land where money would be sprouting out just by digging it right away.

‘The problem is that we need investment first.’

Rupert snorted.

“Do you even know the concept of investment?”

A cold retort followed.

“It’s a waste of time, get out.”

She spoke in a calm tone.

“I swear on my name that it’s not a waste of time. Please give me a chance to really explain it. “

“……”

“You wouldn’t believe it if you listened to it alone. Call your aide, please. “

He eyed her as if she was an unknown creature which appeared in front of him for the first time.

Well, it’s the first time she showed such a rational attitude, not the neurotic one.

[T/N: Neurotic means you’re afflicted by neurosis, a word that is used to describe mental, emotional, or physical reactions that are drastic and irrational. At its root, a neurotic behavior is an automatic, unconscious effort to manage deep anxiety.]

“Noel Ainel, you are unusually calm & persistent today. “

Fortunately, this attitude seems to have arised from his rational judgment.

“Yes, I’d rather hear what you’re up to.”

Rupert then pulled the leash and called out to his aide.

“Bring Ordin here.”

A sigh of relief sneaked out of Noel’s lips at his words.

This means that this crisis has been averted.

After a while, a rather cold-looking man came in.

“Did you call me, Lord.”

A person with light brown hair and blue eyes appeared.

‘Ordin.’

He was Rupert’s aide. Of course, this man hated Noel a lot.

He considered her to be inferior compared to his people.

Fortunately, he is not a person who tells lies for personal reasons.

‘That’s why I asked for your presence.’

If Ordin agrees, it will be of great help to Rupert’s persuasion.

While Rupert briefly explained the situation to Ordin, she took out a large map in the corner of the room.

“You said you didn’t want to drag on, so let’s get straight to the point.”

Seeing two men for a moment, she turned her head back to the map.

You’d better not say anything unnecessary, is what their looks said.

“From here on.”

Said Noel pointing her finger at a specific area on the map.

“I’m thinking of buying land here. “

Ordin frowned lightly.

“It’s so barren that it cannot be used for farming. “

Rupert seems to have thought so too.

“You certainly don’t know what an investment is.”

Feeling a twinge of bitterness on his words, she refuted.

“I know what it is.This land is not fertile, nor is there a river nearby. Of course, it’s not your favorite war advantage land.”

That is why the land has been neglected for so long without much use. There is no one willing to purchase it.

But under this land there was something that would bring them a lot of money.

‘It was a historic site full of gold & treasures, probably?’

Yeah, it was definite.

She saw it clearly in the story.

‘Wait, saw it?’

Shee corrected the misrepresentation that came to mind unintentionally.

‘No, I read it.’

“The use of the land itself doesn’t matter. What is so important is the thing buried down there.”

Ordin asked suspiciously.

“Is something buried there?”

“The answer must be much more detailed than the question, so don’t hang up.”

This was Rupert’s warning.

“Ordin, as you may know better, there is a record of the continent being divided into four lands in the ancient period. Now, it’s all combined.”

Suddenly it was time for geography, but Rupert didn’t interrupt like before.

“In the past, each of the four lands consisted of a different type of mana, and Ainel region was located on the border of two of those four lands combined.”

“That’s the first time I heard something like that. So, that’s why crops don’t grow well on my land.”

All the land surrounding the land she wanted to buy was barren.

For this reason, the theory that each mana did not mix properly was the most influential.

“The place I’m talking about is similar to that of the Marquis. No, it’s worse. It’s the boundary between the three lands.”

She grinned.

“So if you buy it now, it’s gonna be a great deal.”

As if dumbfounded, Ordin hit his head.

“Being cheap is good, but…..it has to be useful too.”

“I just told you, usage doesn’t matter.”

Rupert unexpectedly corrected it.

“……She said there was something under the ground.”

“Yes, I got information from someone I knew that there was a greedy race that only lived in ancient, magical lands. They said that even when they died, gold and silver remained with there dead bodies.”

“What kind of race is that?”

“It’s an unexpectedly famous race. It’s a dragon. “

Even in the fantasy world, dragons were famous.

She wasn’t trying to say that they are too common in fantasy worlds.

It’s just that they often appear in legends or fairy tales, and rare relics are excavated from the places they are found from.

Well, to put it more simply. It was a level of familiarity similar to “dinosaur.”

She continued to explain her answer further.

“I mean there will be a dragon’s grave, if we dig this ground. So, gold and gold will come from the treasure-layered historical site. Well, maybe a dragon’s bone? “

In the story, the main character made a sword out of that material.

The two men, who couldn’t be easily persuaded, seemed to have a lot of criticising remarks stating this all as utter nonsense to say.

“The ecology of the Dragon is not completely known. How do you know all this?”

“I don’t trust you. How do you have such a piece of information? Besides, it’s all just theoretical talk. It has no practicality.”

‘Well, now we are stuck here on this point.”

Surely what she said now would turn out to be an Academy thesis later.

But of course, it was not known yet.

The content itself is true, but the channel of entry had to be turned over as a lie.

Even if you know the future, you cannot completely believe it.

“Your point is correct. Because…”
