In this world, the skill or gift of appraisal is not common. Therefore, the effects of appraisal are monopolized by the stone tablets in the Grand Cathedral or by the inexpensive stone tablets used by guilds and the state. These magic items with appraisal effects are either relics discovered in ruins or items created by great magicians of the past.

I believe that ruins are the remains of an ancient civilization that was destroyed long ago, possessing technology that modern humans cannot replicate. However, the general belief is that they were cities where gods once lived.

The fact that Japanese is used in these relics once made me think that this might be Earth's future, thousands of years ahead. However, it's hard to explain the existence of beastmen and elves, and it's odd that the relics are in Japanese. English, which was the most widely used language on Earth, is not used here, which is puzzling.

Well, I've only seen stone tablets, so the sample size is too small to make a judgment.

After thinking about all this, I arrived at the Royal Magic Academy. Children and their parents, who appear to be examinees, are gathered in front of the board announcing the results. Some are crying, some are rejoicing, some look angry, and others are leaving dejectedly.

From my performance in the exam, I'm sure I passed, but I did destroy a building during the practical test... The principal said it would be overlooked, but there's no guarantee I won't be disqualified behind the scenes.

Even if I don't get into the Royal Magic Academy, I have other ways to earn money, so it might not be a problem for me. However, my father will probably scold me.

My examination number is 564. I feel there might be some intentional design in the examination numbers, but I scan the results board.

...There it is.

That principal really took a risk. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't allow someone who destroyed a building to enroll (laughs).

"I am Christophe von Brütsels, examination number 564."

I hand my examination ticket to the receptionist and proceed with the enrollment process. It seems that if you pass, you can complete the procedures on the spot.

"Let me see... Yes, Christophe von Brütsels. Congratulations on your acceptance. You have been accepted as the top student, so you can use the scholarship program. Will you use it?"

Ah, I'm the top student. I aimed to be in the top ten, but to be the top... I don't need the money, and my father also said I shouldn't use the scholarship program because it would reduce the number of slots available for commoners.

"I don't need the scholarship program."

"Understood. As an outstanding student, Christophe, your enrollment fee is waived. Additionally, while the monthly tuition and dormitory fees are charged, you can use a single-house dormitory at the same rate as others. However, you can also receive assistance for the tuition and dormitory fees. What would you like to do?"

Wow, the enrollment fee is waived because I'm outstanding, regardless of the scholarship program.

And what's this about a "house" instead of a dormitory?

"I don't need the assistance."

"Understood. ...The house also has rooms for your attendants, so you can bring up to five people."

What a surprise.

But I can live on my own, so I don't need attendants. However, my parents will probably insist that I bring them...

"At the opening ceremony, you will be asked to give a speech as the representative of the new students. We will contact you in March."

Ugh, giving a speech as the representative of the new students sounds like a hassle.

"Um, I would like to decline the role of the new student representative."

"...Huh?"

Oh, her eyebrows are furrowed. That ruins her beauty! Don't make that face!

"...I will ask someone else to be the new student representative."

She's muttering and writing something... Did my request go through?

The receptionist's face returns to its original smile...

"Formally, I will accept your request to decline the role of the new student representative. However, if the upper management rejects it, you will have to accept it."

"Thank you."

I smile and thank the receptionist.

"Here is the booklet for new students. Please open it to page 3."

I received a booklet about the thickness of a Japanese workbook, but the paper used is parchment, so there are fewer pages.

"Page 3 lists the textbooks and materials you need to prepare and the stores where you can purchase them. Please go to the stores as soon as possible to prepare. Especially the uniform, as it may take some time to be ready."

So, I need to shop at the designated stores.

"Next, please open to page 6. Our school is a boarding school, so this page provides information about the dormitories. As mentioned earlier, Christophe, you will use a dedicated house. Normally, dormitories are four-person rooms. The house is also considered a dormitory, so please read the rules carefully and follow them."

You say "considered" (laughs).

In the end, I was told to read all the pages, and the registration process was completed. As I turned to leave, I was called out.

"It's been a while."

"......Who are you?"

I can't remember.

"Hey! ...It's fine. I am Dorothy von Bandam. I believe we met during the entrance exam."

Ah, I remember! The third princess with the flat chest!

Oh, she's glaring at me!

"Were you just thinking something rude?"

"...No?"

"...Well, anyway, congratulations on being the top student."

"Thank you."

"However, when I become a second-year student, I will take the top position, so be prepared for that."

Is this a declaration of war?

"Is that so... Good luck."

What else can I say?

She glared at me one last time and turned to leave. She seems like a troublesome person.

"Christophe, you should be nicer to girls..."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, it is."

I was lectured by Filia.

On the way back in the carriage, I peeked at the statuses of people on the street. From the information I've gathered, the hidden stats of a typical adult human male—Strength, Endurance, Agility, Dexterity, Intelligence, Spirit, Charm, and Luck—are around 100, with Vitality at about 150 and Magic Power at about 100. Elves and dwarves have some differences.

For soldiers, Vitality is around 200, with Strength and Endurance slightly higher. At the knight level, some have Vitality over 400, and those with high Magic Power also have high Intelligence and Spirit. I think Agility and Dexterity are related to Vitality and Magic Power, but I'm not sure.

In other words, my hidden stats are at the level of a soldier for Strength and Endurance, at the level of a knight for Agility, and at the highest human level for Dexterity. My Intelligence, Spirit, Charm, and Luck are at a superhuman level. My Vitality Growth is normal, but my Magic Power Growth is divine, so I knew I was specialized in magic, but these stats are so high that even I'm taken aback.

And even with high Charm, there are people like the third princess who glare at me... Well, I don't expect to have no enemies just because my Charm is high, so it's fine.

However, my physical strength is only slightly above that of a typical adult male, so I could receive a fatal injury if caught off guard. Fortunately, the effect of the Creator God's blessing makes me immune to instant death, so in the worst case, I would suffer a severe injury. However, if I receive a follow-up attack, I could die.

I need to improve this before enrollment.

Also, I was scolded by my father again for declining the role of the new student representative. I told my mother later that I was feeling unwell, but she laughed it off.
