Chapter 8

"Ahhh, I'm so tired."

After that, I was scolded severely by Mireille.

Yeah, well, I guess it's because my behavior has been too bad all along.

By the time I was finally released and returned to my room, it was already pitch dark.

Still, I cast the freezing spell over and over to extract the salt, but it didn't work in the final stage.

The salt either froze together or turned into a thick brine.

I should probably think of a different method for the final stage.

Like drying it in the sun.

If I only dry it in the sun at the end, it might work quite well.

I wanted to try the experiment again tomorrow, but Mireille forbade me from going out for three days.

I guess I have no choice but to behave.

But at six years old, it's still around kindergarten or first grade.

I don't think it's a rush to study at this age.

While thinking about all this, I couldn't resist the sleepiness and fell asleep.

"Do you know what will happen if you do this!?"

The female protagonist was shouting in the forest.

In that still, her friend was being kidnapped.

In front of the protagonist, there were two men.

"You don't know anything!! You, who entered the academy just because of your noble status!!"

"Bro, let's just kidnap them and take them away."

The ones who kidnapped the protagonist were... the grown-up Glen and Ricardo.

Yes, their names were clearly written as the enemies in the game, so there's no mistake.

What!? Wait!! Why are those two the villains!?

Just as I stretched my hands out as far as they could, I woke up.

It seems I remembered the content of the game while I was sleeping.

...What a surprise.

I never thought those two would be minor villains!

I thought I had seen them somewhere before!

That's right, they were villains!

I remember, they were always complaining about how they were more talented and smarter than anyone else but couldn't enter the magic academy because their magic attribute was ice.

They were tricked into trying to kidnap the protagonist and failed, and the villains silenced them by killing them.

This means that in the game, Glen couldn't enter the magic academy.

Because of that, he became resentful and went straight down the path of becoming a villain.

Yeah, it's bad. I have to do something.

The current Glen and Ricardo are still innocent and haven't been corrupted.

It would be too pitiful if they became petty criminals and were killed by the villains to keep them quiet.

I jumped out of bed in a hurry.

"Look, Lady Letty, look!"

As I jumped out of bed and headed towards the orphanage, Lin came up to me happily.

"Ah, Lin. What's up?"

When I asked,

"Glen found a way to extract salt using magic!!

This is the salt we made!!!"

She said, showing me a bucket full of salt.

"Really!? That's amazing, Glen is so cool!!!"

When I looked into the bucket, there was indeed a bucket full of salt.

"Amazing, amazing!! How did you do it, Glen!?"

When I looked at Glen,

"I remembered the diagram Letty taught me.

I modified the magic so that only the water would freeze.

So the salt can be cleanly separated.

I'll teach you too, Letty, come over."

He said, smiling happily.

"Wow, if we make a lot of salt, we can buy sweets!"

Lolo said, laughing innocently.

"Let's buy meat, meat!"

Ricardo said.

"Yeah, with this much salt, we can buy something."

Glen smiled at the two of them.

Yeah, the current Glen is really a good kid.

I wonder why he became such a troubled guy in just a few years.

The fact that he could modify magic so easily suggests that he really had the magical talent he mentioned when he became a villain.

So when his dream was shattered, his despair must have been great.

Not only for his own future.

I have to do something so that Glen and Ricardo don't go down the wrong path.

Looking at the salt they had made, I made a vow.
