### Chapter 4: Saving the Python
Ye Fei saw that what his subordinate had touched was the strange blood-red fruit. He immediately retracted his hand and turned away, no longer looking at the alluring fruit.
At this moment, Ye Fei suddenly heard a faint hissing sound. He looked in the direction of the sound and saw that it was coming from the green python, whose eyes were filled with a look of longing as it pitifully gazed at Ye Fei.
Ye Fei glanced at the green python and then turned to look at the blood-red fruit. His mind raced. Clearly, both the beasts were vying for this fruit, which must be a spiritual fruit. Eating it would certainly bring great benefits.
However, he didn't know its specific effects, and since humans and beasts have different constitutions, he didn't dare to eat it recklessly. Thinking about this, Ye Fei looked up at the green python.
"Big Green Snake, why are you staring at me? Do you want to eat this fruit?" Ye Fei pointed at the fruit, speaking somewhat absentmindedly.
The green python made a faint hissing sound, its eyes brightening slightly as it blinked forcefully, as if in response.
"What? You can understand what I'm saying?" Ye Fei was startled by the green python's actions, staring at it with wide eyes.
The green python blinked a few times but didn't make any more sounds. Ye Fei pondered for a moment and said to himself, "Is it just a coincidence? I have an idea."
Ye Fei's eyes darted around, and he said to the green python, "If what I say is correct, blink once. If it's incorrect and you disagree, blink twice. Understand?"
The green python blinked once, a hint of excitement in its eyes. Ye Fei then asked, "Do you want to eat that fruit?"
The green python blinked once again.
Ye Fei continued, "If you eat it, will your injuries heal?" The green python blinked twice.
Ye Fei's young face furrowed in thought. It didn't seem to be a coincidence. He remembered his mother once telling him that some beasts could understand human language but couldn't speak, only gaining the ability to speak after transforming.
However, if a master-pet imprint could be planted, some low-level beasts could communicate with their masters through their souls. For example, a core-formation beast, equivalent to a human foundation-building stage, could only be tamed by a condensed-dan stage cultivator. Even if a group of people could capture a core-formation beast, it would rather die than submit to a foundation-building stage cultivator.
"Big Green Snake, if I save you, you must not repay kindness with ingratitude. After your injuries heal, you must help me escape this cliff. During this time, we will plant a master-pet imprint. Once I am safe, I will release you. What do you think?" Ye Fei said cautiously, staring intently at the green python.
The green python, after hearing Ye Fei's words, remained still, neither moving nor blinking, staring back at Ye Fei.
After a moment, Ye Fei seemed to understand. His cultivation was too low, and this breathing-stage beast was almost at the core-formation stage. It was impossible for him to plant a master-pet imprint. For them, it might be a disgrace.
Ye Fei shook his head slightly and sighed, "Sigh, you are a beast, after all. I can't just heal you without assurance. What if you turn on me? I'm just trying to protect myself. Since you don't agree, forget it." Ye Fei didn't show much surprise.
After speaking, Ye Fei made a hand seal and pointed at the back of the three-legged toad. With a swoosh, a green light flashed from its back and flew to Ye Fei's face.
A three-foot-long green sword appeared, a gift from his father, Ye Tian, named the Yuan Guang Sword, which had a slight icy attribute.
Ye Fei stroked the sword, his eyes suddenly widening, a sharp light flashing in them. The ordinary appearance and murky eyes could no longer hide the unique aura he now exuded.
"Family Li, you wait. And the Black Valley, I, Ye Fei, will return to avenge Uncle Da and my parents. Die." As Ye Fei shouted the last word, he swung the sword forward with great force, as if striking an enemy.
A green sword beam shot out, hitting a large rock. With a crack, the rock began to split rapidly, visible to the naked eye.
Such a display of power seemed out of place for a thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy. He looked up at the sky, clenched his fists, and a determined look appeared on his face, though no one knew what he was thinking.
After venting his anger, Ye Fei calmed down, returning to his usual state, his eyes murky. No one noticed that the seemingly ordinary necklace he wore emitted a faint light, then returned to its normal appearance.
Putting away the sword, Ye Fei looked around and finally walked away, searching for a way to escape the cliff.
At this moment, Ye Fei suddenly heard an urgent hissing sound. The green python blinked its eyes, looking at Ye Fei strangely.
Turning around, Ye Fei said indifferently, "What's wrong?" He looked at the green python curiously.
The green python blinked its large eyes, looking at Ye Fei and then at the fruit.
"Oh, didn't I say that if you don't agree to the master-pet imprint, I can't save you? What, are you agreeing now?" Ye Fei said, somewhat surprised.
The green python blinked once, looking at Ye Fei excitedly. For some reason, the python suddenly agreed to the master-pet imprint, perhaps out of fear of death. Ye Fei thought so.
"Big Green Snake, don't deceive me. If you try to trick me, I will kill you too." Ye Fei looked at the green python. Although the python was near death, its realm was still there. If it didn't agree, he couldn't plant the imprint smoothly.
The green python, hearing this, looked at Ye Fei with a wronged expression, blinking its eyes pitifully.
Ye Fei, seeing this, didn't waste any more words. He made a hand seal, chanting incantations. With a swoosh, a white light appeared from his forehead, forming a mysterious circular pattern in the air.
However, the pattern was clearly incomplete, and Ye Fei looked strained, his face pale. He bit his lips and changed the hand seal, another light beam shooting out from his forehead toward the mysterious pattern.
When the light beam reached the pattern, the missing parts slowly filled in, and Ye Fei's body began to tremble slightly.
He must hold on, Ye Fei thought. He raised his trembling arm and pointed at the mysterious pattern in the air. With a hum, the pattern seemed to come alive, emitting a bright light and slowly rotating, moving toward the green python's head.
In the next moment, the circular pattern disappeared into the green python's head, vanishing without a trace.
Ye Fei's legs immediately went weak, and he plopped down on the ground, looking at the green python with a pale face, slightly nervous. Although the method of planting a spiritual imprint was common, he had never used it before and didn't know if it would succeed.
At this moment, a slightly childish, infant-like voice suddenly appeared in Ye Fei's mind. "Master, you are too weak. I didn't resist, and you still had such a hard time planting an imprint. How will I follow you in the future?"
At the same time, Ye Fei felt something different in his soul, a subtle connection, and a sense of control over the python's life and death.
"Did it work? Hehe." Ye Fei said excitedly. Then, his expression turned serious. "I will become strong. Very strong." His eyes were filled with determination, but unknown to him, strange gray threads appeared in his eyes.
"I believe in you, Master. Otherwise, I wouldn't have agreed to the imprint. By the way, Master, give me the blood ginseng fruit quickly. If I don't eat it and regain some strength, I will die." The green python said urgently.
Hearing this, Ye Fei didn't ask any more questions. He stood up and approached the blood-red fruit, not looking at it but picking it up with his hand. He then went to the green python's large head.
"Open your mouth." Ye Fei said indifferently. The green python struggled to open its mouth slightly, and Ye Fei pushed the strange fruit inside.
Ye Fei stepped back, suddenly feeling weak, and sat down on the ground. He watched the green python, its eyes filled with excitement, struggling to chew the fruit. In a few bites, it swallowed the fruit.
After about the time it takes to eat a meal, the green python's tightly closed eyes suddenly opened, a sharp light flashing in them. Its body twisted slightly, and a blue light shone brightly.
A grayish mist was expelled from its body, and even the rotting wounds began to heal, though the healing stopped after a moment, as if some toxins remained.
The green python's body twisted, and it raised half of its body, slithering toward Ye Fei. At the same time, a powerful aura unique to beasts was released. The green python opened its mouth and spewed out a pale blue light.
The light enveloped Ye Fei, completely freezing him. Ye Fei's face changed, and he felt everything go dark, losing consciousness. (End of Chapter)
