Chapter 9

Looking at the youth opposite him, Ye Fei frowned and softly said, "What do you mean? Why are you blocking my way?"

Hearing this, the fierce youth opposite him let out a 'tsk' and actually laughed.

"Hmph, are you an idiot? Appearing here is obviously to rob you disciples who have returned from training at the Thousand Cleft Cliff. Seeing you alone, your fellow disciples must have been devoured by beasts. Covered in blood, it seems you've been injured too. Hand over your treasures obediently, and I'll let you go."

Hearing this, Ye Fei's thoughts raced, and he softly said, "We've never met before. You want to rob me. How is that any different from being a bandit?"

This remark left the youth opposite him speechless. Was this kid really so naive? He was clearly a bandit, wasn't he?

"Well, you can interpret it however you like. We're just doing this kind of thing. Stop talking nonsense. Hand over your things, and I'll let you go. You seem quite honest."

"Looks like you've robbed many lone cultivators? The Thousand Cleft Cliff is dangerous enough. Why don't you go treasure hunting yourself instead of doing these despicable deeds here?" Ye Fei scolded with a hint of anger, but his divine sense had already been quietly released to guard against any sudden attack.

Hearing Ye Fei's words, the fierce youth was initially stunned, but then his anger flashed, and he said fiercely, "Hmph, how dare you lecture me? What are you? Who said I haven't been to the Thousand Cleft Cliff? Back then, I was also robbed and chased until I fell into the cliff, suffering severe injuries. But I also gained some opportunities and escaped, killing my enemies. I've been robbing others here ever since."

Hearing this, a rebellious thought arose in Ye Fei. Both were at the Qi Condensation Seventh Layer. Why would he easily admit defeat and hand over his treasures? After all, they were both young and hot-blooded.

"Oh, if you say so, then I'll have to see what you've got to rob my treasures." With that, Ye Fei patted his waist, and with a swoosh, a stream of light shot out, swirling in the air and transforming into a green longsword.

Seeing this, the youth's face turned fierce, and he laughed lightly, "A初级法器? Heh, you really do have treasures. Since you refuse to cooperate, don't blame me for being ruthless, hmpf."

Immediately, the fierce youth released a silver spear. With a spell gesture, the spear glowed silver and shot towards Ye Fei.

Ye Fei pointed at the air, and with a swoosh, the Primordial Light Sword flashed and slashed at the spear.

With a 'bang,' a burst of silver light exploded, and the two treasures were locked in a stalemate in mid-air, the surrounding void humming.

Seeing this, the fierce youth showed no surprise. He then cast another spell, and with a puff, it entered the spear.

After a hum, the silver spear glowed and retreated, then shot out again as the youth pointed at it several times in the air.

Ye Fei controlled the Primordial Light Sword to block urgently. With equal cultivation, after several exchanges, both were sweating, and the air exploded with a series of 'crackling' sounds.

But as time went on, Ye Fei clearly became overmatched. The Primordial Light Sword was no longer as agile as before, struggling to block the spear, which almost broke through his defense and slashed at Ye Fei.

"Heh, as expected, you've only recently reached the Seventh Layer. How can your mana be as strong as mine? How long can you hold out? Hmpf," the fierce youth said, but he wasn't in much better shape, just slightly better than Ye Fei.

"This won't do. If this continues, I'll really lose to him," Ye Fei muttered to himself, his face showing hesitation as he controlled the Primordial Light Sword to block the spear.

Just as Ye Fei was thinking, the fierce youth suddenly exerted more force, pouring all his mana into the spear. The Primordial Light Sword struggled to block, slowly descending towards Ye Fei's head, as if the spear would slash him at any moment.

At this moment, Ye Fei patted his waist, and with a swoosh, a soil-yellow light shot out. With a spell gesture, it transformed into a fireball about a foot in size and shot towards the fierce youth.

Seeing this, the fierce youth's face changed, and he exclaimed, "Not good, a spirit talisman? You're really a disciple of a major sect, and not just any disciple."

Recalling the spear was too late to block, the spirit talisman was extremely powerful, and a single hit would cause fatal injuries.

His face hesitated for a moment, then his eyes narrowed, as if making a decision. He patted his storage bag, and with a flash, a three-foot-long black sword appeared in front of him.

The next moment, with a 'bang,' a burst of flames exploded, and the fierce youth didn't control the strange black sword, which blocked the spirit talisman on its own, leaving Ye Fei astonished.

Even core-stage beast cultivators suffered significant injuries from spirit talismans, and ordinary magical weapons couldn't block them without mana control.

"Ha, though I've never used this treasure, I knew it was special since I got it from the Thousand Cleft Cliff. Good, today, you'll be the first to see its power," the fierce youth said, looking at the black sword with excitement.

He then cast a spell, condensed his mana, and poured it into the black sword, pointing it at Ye Fei.

"Ahh!" a scream of pain.

A strange scene unfolded. The fierce youth suddenly clutched his head, roaring, his face pale, his body trembling, as if his mana was being absorbed by the strange black sword.

At this moment, Ye Fei's divine sense detected an extreme and fatal danger emanating from the black sword. An overwhelming pressure slowly released, and a cold wind blew around the black sword, making a whistling sound. The sky seemed to darken.

Without hesitation, Ye Fei didn't care about the battle between the spear and the Primordial Light Sword, and he quickly leaped to the side.

The next moment, the fierce youth's last bit of mana was absorbed by the strange black sword, and he collapsed, staring in horror at the black sword.

The strange black sword flashed weakly in the air, hummed, and, uncontrolled, shot towards Ye Fei's previous position. It was so fast that it plunged into the ground with a 'puff.'

A loud explosion shook the earth. The ground where Ye Fei had been suddenly cracked, dirt flying everywhere, forming a deep pit over ten meters in diameter. The black sword trembled in the pit, humming.

Though Ye Fei had run far, he was still hit by the shockwave, thrown several meters, and rolled on the ground before stabilizing. His face was pale, and he looked at the large pit in fear.

"What is this treasure? How can it have such power?" Ye Fei said, still shaken. If not for his divine sense, he might have been destroyed.

After a while, Ye Fei struggled to stand, looked at the stunned fierce youth, and walked towards him with anger.

The silver spear and the Primordial Light Sword were now floating aimlessly in the air.

Seeing Ye Fei approach, the youth's face showed fear, and he exclaimed, "What are you going to do?"

"What? If I hadn't dodged, I would have been destroyed by your treasure," Ye Fei said coldly.

Hearing this, the fierce youth's eyes flashed, and he looked at the large pit with surprise, saying, "If I say I didn't know it had such power, would you believe me?" He looked exhausted.

Walking a few steps to the youth, Ye Fei wiped the dust from his face and said softly, "You almost killed me. How can I let a bandit like you live?"

"Hmph, I didn't want to kill you. I didn't want to cause a death. Do you have to finish me off?" the youth finally came to his senses and shouted at Ye Fei.

"Oh? Is that so? But you rob people. Today, I'll enforce justice." With that, Ye Fei raised his hand, and the Primordial Light Sword flashed, aiming at the defenseless fierce youth.

Seeing this, the fierce youth's face changed, and he exclaimed, "Wait, don't kill me. I was lying before. I'll tell the truth." Hearing this, Ye Fei paused, and the Primordial Light Sword hovered above the youth's head. (End of Chapter)
