Chapter 9

Wang Xu's face was grim, and from a distance, he saw Song Zhen and the others. However, he noticed that Song Zhen's leg was almost shattered, and even if it was treated, it would take nearly half a year to recover.

Half a year? The best time for a gene warrior to train would be wasted. Even if he recovered in half a year, he would fall far behind in strength.

Of course, what annoyed him the most was that Xu Yuan was demanding points from Song Zhen.

Xu Yuan had done this during the last trial. If not for his fear of Wang Xu's strength, Xu Yuan would have taken all the points, not just half. The facts proved this: without Wang Xu, Song Zhen and the others became soft targets, and Xu Yuan could bully them without any hesitation!

Wang Xu had thought that by entrusting Zhang Xinglin to take care of them, everything would be fine. But Zhang Xinglin ultimately chose to stay out of it, leaving Wang Xu's heart cold.

Immediately, Wang Xu walked out with a dark expression, his eyes fixed on Xu Yuan and the others.

Hearing the sound, Song Zhen, Tang Yan, and the others looked over with surprised expressions.

"Brother!" Song Zhen's eyes immediately turned red.

They couldn't believe that Wang Xu had survived, escaping the pursuit of a fourth-stage elite insect beast.

Seeing Wang Xu, Zhang Xinglin's heart stirred, his eyes flickering. He had failed to keep his promise to Wang Xu, so he averted his gaze, choosing to ignore it.

Tang Yan also called out in surprise, her beautiful eyes welling up with tears. Wang Xu had saved her life from the double scythe insect beast and again from the millipede soft insect. Thinking of Wang Xu's distant figure, Tang Yan felt a sharp pain in her heart.

Xu Yuan, standing behind Tang Yan, saw Wang Xu and his good mood was instantly ruined. He couldn't believe that this thorn in his side had such a strong life, surviving even such a calculated attack.

Xu Yuan narrowed his eyes, a vicious look flashing in them, and said with a smile, "To survive the pursuit of a fourth-stage elite insect beast, you must be very lucky."

"Yes, I am lucky, and I should thank you," Wang Xu replied with a smile.

Thank you? Xu Yuan sneered. He didn't think Wang Xu had any reason to thank him.

"Since you're here, leave your spatial ring behind," Xu Yuan said arrogantly. He wanted not just the points but everything in Wang Xu's spatial ring!

Hearing this, the students couldn't help but look over, their eyes focusing on Wang Xu. They all wanted to see if this second-ranked genius, the acknowledged talent of the academy, would bow down to Xu Yuan.

"Wang Xu is in trouble this time," one student whispered.

"Gifted but without a background, what a pity! What a pity..."

The students murmured and sighed.

Song Zhen was furious, taking off his ring and saying, "Xu Yuan, you want my points? I'll give you my spatial ring, everything, just let Wang Xu go!"

Xu Yuan had five third-stage experts behind him, and Song Zhen had already noticed that Xu Yuan's strength had greatly increased during the hunt for the third-stage insect beast. Clearly, he had consumed many training resources and was almost at the fourth stage. Wang Xu's chances against them were slim!

"Xu Yuan! I won't let you touch Wang Xu!" Tang Yan stepped forward, blocking Wang Xu and glaring at Xu Yuan.

Xu Yuan's face turned fierce, looking at Wang Xu and saying, "Wang Xu, are you just going to hide behind a woman?"

Xu Yuan was furious, not expecting so many people to stand up for Wang Xu.

"Tang Yan, this is between him and me. Step aside," Wang Xu moved Tang Yan aside and stared at Xu Yuan, "Do you want to fight? I'm ready."

Xu Yuan's eyes flashed, and he smiled, "You said it."

He took out a bottle of blue liquid from his spatial ring, which was clearly the "Body Enhancement Agent."

"Xu Yuan! Using banned drugs in a one-on-one fight, how despicable!" Tang Yan said angrily when she saw Xu Yuan drink the Body Enhancement Agent.

"Never mind," Wang Xu stopped her, smiling, "Use whatever means you have."

Hearing this arrogant tone, Tang Yan stomped her foot. At this moment, he was still showing off!

Song Zhen quickly intervened, "Brother Wang, Xu Yuan's strength has increased dramatically, and with the Body Enhancement Agent, you're no match for him..."

Not only Tang Yan and Song Zhen thought Wang Xu would lose, but even the other students felt he was overconfident.

Zhang Xinglin opened his eyes and glanced at Wang Xu, seemingly shocked. Even he would find it difficult to face a Xu Yuan who had taken the Body Enhancement Agent, let alone Wang Xu, who was weaker.

"Don't hesitate. You might as well all come at me at once to save time," Wang Xu pointed at the five people behind Xu Yuan.

The crowd was stunned. Wang Xu had already surprised them by challenging Xu Yuan, but now he was shockingly challenging six third-stage gene warriors at once!

"Hmph! Since you're asking for it, I'll grant your wish!" Xu Yuan, enraged by Wang Xu's arrogance, waved his hand, and the five third-stage gene warriors lunged at Wang Xu.

For a moment, the air was filled with the sound of swords, knives, whips, and short blades, blocking all of Wang Xu's escape routes.

Clearly, these five had worked together for a long time, and their coordination was perfect. They wanted to give Wang Xu a taste of their power, using their most lethal moves.

Facing the five attackers, Wang Xu smiled. If he were still at the third stage, he would have been overwhelmed and defeated in just a few rounds. The combined strength of five third-stage gene warriors was overwhelming, and he wouldn't have been able to resist. But now, Wang Xu was no longer at the third stage; he had crossed the gap to become a fourth-stage elite!

"Bang!" Wang Xu kicked the gene warrior who was charging at him from the front. The gene warrior flew backward, his internal organs almost shattered, spitting out blood.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Four more kicks, Wang Xu's legs moving so fast they were like a blur, and the remaining four gene warriors were sent flying, landing on the ground, spitting out blood, and losing their fighting ability.

Silence!

The scene suddenly fell silent, and the sound of the breeze could be heard clearly.

Xu Yuan's smile froze. He thought that the five gene warriors would easily defeat Wang Xu, and even if they failed, he could join in and finish Wang Xu off.

But Wang Xu had simply moved his leg, and before anyone could see what happened, the five gene warriors were all sent flying, completely defeated.

Song Zhen and Tang Yan's pale faces turned lively, and Song Zhen's eyes were filled with enthusiasm at the sight of Wang Xu's calm demeanor!

The indifferent Zhang Xinglin also saw this, his eyes wide with shock, his heart pounding.

When did Wang Xu become so powerful?!

Suddenly, Zhang Xinglin seemed to realize something, his face changing. Fourth stage? Could it be... Wang Xu had become a fourth-stage elite warrior?

Even the most talented third-stage gene warriors, relying solely on physical strength and speed, couldn't defeat five attackers simultaneously. The only explanation was that Wang Xu had broken through to the fourth stage!

"Alright, now it's just you. Come on," Wang Xu looked at Xu Yuan and smiled.

Xu Yuan's face drained of color, and he stood frozen, his hands trembling.

Xu Yuan knew his strength had improved, thanks to the resources provided by his family. Even if he couldn't surpass Wang Xu, he was close, especially after taking the Body Enhancement Agent, which should have given him the power to crush Wang Xu and Zhang Xinglin.

But even with that power, he couldn't have defeated five gene warriors in an instant!

This was not the strength of a third-stage gene warrior! Could it be... Xu Yuan's face turned pale with fear, realizing the terrifying truth.

"You... you've advanced to the fourth stage!" Xu Yuan stammered.

These words were like a bomb dropped in a plain, shocking everyone!

Fourth stage!

At just eighteen years old, to become a fourth-stage elite warrior, was this possible?!

But Wang Xu didn't deny it, and his smiling face gave them the most powerful proof—yes, it was possible!

"Wang Xu, you really advanced to the fourth stage?" Tang Yan's eyes were full of surprise.

"Brother Wang, is this true? This... this is too... too..." Song Zhen was so excited he could hardly speak.

Wang Xu nodded at them with a smile, then focused on Xu Yuan, "Let's fight. You wanted to kill me, and you took the Body Enhancement Agent. I'm right here, come on."

Wang Xu still vividly remembered what had happened last night. Xu Yuan had forcibly taken over his base, isolating him outside the energy barrier, nearly causing him to be killed by the millipede soft insect. He had also broken Song Zhen's leg and planned to rob him with five gene warriors. Even Buddha would find it hard to forgive such actions!

Wang Xu was a simple person: if you don't provoke me, I won't provoke you. If you respect me, I'll respect you. But if you cross his line and threaten his life, he wouldn't show mercy!

Xu Yuan, now, didn't dare to move. He wasn't stupid; a third-stage gene warrior was nothing against a fourth-stage elite!

"Fine, since you won't move, I'll go first!" Without waiting for Xu Yuan's response, Wang Xu formed a fist with his fingers and struck Xu Yuan's stomach with lightning speed, causing Xu Yuan's intestines to twist, and he curled up on the ground like a shrimp.

Fast!

Too fast!

Xu Yuan didn't even have time to react. By the time the pain hit, he could only see Wang Xu's figure.

Zhang Xinglin's face turned white. Wang Xu's strike was so fast that even he couldn't see it, let alone block it.
