Chapter 2 of 19

Chapter 2

2 min read444 words

The two of us met when we were in elementary school.

I was born an Omega, but I was blessed with a good physique. That’s why everyone around me, including my family, thought I was an Alpha or a Beta. Since I had twin younger sisters who were a year younger than me, from an early age I had a sense of duty and justice to protect those who were smaller and weaker than myself, stronger than most people. I was naturally kind to the underclassmen and sometimes guided them, and even fought the upperclassmen resolutely when I thought they did something wrong.

When I started fifth grade, Yukiya transferred to my school. At first glance, I knew that I had to protect him. His body was a little smaller than the rest of our classmates, and his hands were trembling as he looked down in fear from the curious eyes of our classmates.

His arms and legs were thin, and his skin was as white as snow. His lips and cheeks peeked out from the gaps of his downcast bangs, and they looked very captivating. The boys in the class didn’t know what to make of the beautiful new student, who was different from the others, and made fun of him, calling him “girly” as if to hide their embarrassment. Yukiya’s body shrunk more and more and he looked down.

Seeing Yukiya like that, our classmates seemed to want to bully him even more. I glared at them to discourage them, and they then slowly moved away from Yukiya.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Iguchi Shuhei.”

Greeting him, I introduced myself and held out my hand cautiously to him, and a small voice replied to me with a “Nice to meet you”.

After that, I talked to Yukiya every day. It didn’t matter if he didn’t say anything back. I just felt that I had to protect this small being who had closed his heart.

After a few months, Yukiya gradually started to talk back to me. He was able to communicate not only with me, but also with our other classmates. Even so, Yukiya prioritized being with me over expanding his social circle to other classmates. It may have been close to obvious dependence. But nevertheless, I was happy about it.

When I left him, Yukiya always looked uneasy. When I was around him, he’d smile with happiness.

I felt like he was an affectionate baby bird or a domesticated cat who wouldn’t look at anyone else. This relationship continued even after we entered junior high school.
