“Shuhei.”

That familiar soft voice called my name. But the sound of his voice made me feel as if my body was going numb.

There was a hint of anger in his voice. The usually, always smiling Yukiya was now looking at me with a serious face.

“How wonderful, we’ve caught an unexpected prey!”

These words brought me back to my senses. This place was even more dangerous for Yukiya than it was for me. I shouted when I saw the men’s expressions, which reminded me of a beast staring intently at its prey.

“Yukiya, run…!”

“You, shut the fuck up!”

As one of the men held me down, he kicked me in the abdomen, and I groaned, managing to stifle a scream.

“Hey, let Shuhei go.”

The men looked at each other and laughed when they heard Yukiya’s quiet request.

“We’ll let this guy go at any time if you become our mate instead.”

“Mate? What is a mate supposed to do?”

“You should be able to figure it out without being told, right? Of course, serving us.”

“Hehe.” The man approached Yukiya with a vulgar smile. I struggled to escape the restraints after seeing this, but they tightened even more. “Shut the fuck up, don’t ruin the moment,” he said, brushing me off.

“Yukiya, run! Don’t worry about me, just go!”

I shouted with all my might. The irritated man glared at me and just as he was about to kick me again, the huge body of the man who jumped on Yukiya flew through the air and slammed into the ground. I wasn’t the only one who was surprised by the scene. For a brief moment, everyone in the room came to a halt.

We were all dumbfounded by Yukiya’s seamless movements, as if we were watching a scene from a movie.

“Why so surprised? I’ve learned self-defense, you know? Albeit only to an extent.”

It was probably because of that face, I was taken aback by Yukiya’s joking smile. Until now, I’ve been struggling to protect Yukiya from those who have their eyes on him, but maybe I didn’t have to do that. His movements were impeccable enough to make me think that.

The men flinched back a little at Yukiya’s move. But the leader of the group who brought me here let out a small chuckle and shouted in triumph.

“What self-defense? In the end, you’re only an omega, and the medicine will kick in soon.”

Ah, right, there were still those incense with inducing effects lit in this classroom.

The man’s voice convinced the men of their absolute superiority, and they gradually closed the distance to Yukiya. The scene vaguely reminded me of a bird of prey hunting for its weak prey.

However, when Yukiya still stood there calmly, contrary to their expectation, he finally yelled as if he had lost his nerve.

“Why, why isn’t it working…!”

“Well, I wonder why…”

The tone of his voice was as calm as ever, but I could tell that it was definitely Yukiya who was creating this tense atmosphere.

“Hey, how long are you going to keep touching Shuhei?”

“Would you please refrain from touching my precious person?” The man who had been holding me down loosened his hold when he heard Yukiya’s words. I was surprised to find that the restraints I had struggled so hard to get out of were easily released and I quickly crawled out of them with whatever strength I had left and escaped.

“Yukiya!”

As I crawled over to look up at Koya, he crouched down in front of me and gently stroked my cheek.

“I’m sorry I’m late.”

The Yukiya in front of me appeared much more mature than him from the day I broke up with him at the hospital.

There were so many questions I wanted to ask. I wanted to ask him why he was here, why he was okay with being here. But as if to escape all my questions, Yukiya kissed me on the forehead and whispered quietly.

“Everything is all right now, you can close your eyes and sleep.”

I wasn’t feeling particularly sleepy, but I felt a strange sense of comfort and relief, and the next thing I knew, I lost consciousness.
