It seems that Bae Blue has entered the second round of interviews, and Lee Ji-hyeon felt awkward about leaving first, so she had to sit outside with Yoon Hyun and wait.
They remained silent for a while.
"Ji-hyeon." Yoon Hyun looked at Lee Ji-hyeon with a gentle gaze and spoke softly.
"OPPA, just say what you want to say, it's scary like this." Lee Ji-hyeon, who had never seen Yoon Hyun look at her this way, turned bright red and stammered, dropping the lipstick she had been twirling out of boredom.
Yoon Hyun picked up the lipstick like a gentleman, handed it to Lee Ji-hyeon, and said gently, "As a trainee, have you learned to read sheet music?"
"Um... we have music theory classes, but I'm not very good at it..." Lee Ji-hyeon's mind was in a daze, and she responded woodenly.
"Oh, then if I hum a melody, can you write it down in sheet music?"
"...I might not be able to. You can ask Unnie Ji-hye, she should be able to."
Yoon Hyun patted his head, "Right, how could I forget about my sister!"
Perhaps because of the strange look Yoon Hyun had given to please her, or for some other reason, the atmosphere between them became even more awkward.
However, when Lim Yoon-a came out of the interview and saw Yoon Hyun sitting with Lee Ji-hyeon, she took the initiative to greet them, breaking the awkwardness.
"Yoon Hyun xi, are you still waiting for someone?"
"Ah, yes, a friend... cough, hasn't come out yet."
"I'm so envious! That older sister must have made it to the second round. I have other things to do, so I'll go first!"
"Okay, be careful on your way. Oh, by the way, this is my friend, Lee Ji-hyeon. Ji-hyeon, this is Lim Yoon-a, a trainee at S.M. Entertainment."
The two girls exchanged greetings, and then Lim Yoon-a left.
"That girl is really energetic!" Lee Ji-hyeon, looking at Lim Yoon-a's spirited back, said enviously.
"Of course! The path to one's dreams, no matter how difficult, is always beautiful!"
"OPPA, didn't I tell you not to say such mushy and philosophical things!"
"Oh, okay, then next time just pretend you didn't hear it."
Perhaps because of Lim Yoon-a's presence, the two, who had been a bit awkward, started chatting again, making the time pass faster. Finally, they saw Bae Blue come out of the interview room with a somewhat gloomy expression.
"They said to wait for a notification." Bae Blue, seeing Yoon Hyun's encouraging gaze, smiled bitterly and said.
"It's okay. There will be another chance." Yoon Hyun, seeing the interviewers come out one by one, felt a bit sorry. It seemed Bae Blue had fallen just before the finish line.
Bae Blue nodded but didn't say anything more.
Since both of their interviews were over, they decided to leave. There were many people who had come for the interview, but few were still around at this time. So, the three of them leaving together attracted some attention, especially with two distinctly different beauties on either side of a boy.
"Excuse me, may I disturb you for a moment?" A woman's voice came from behind Yoon Hyun.
Yoon Hyun turned around and saw a lady looking him up and down. Bae Blue and Lee Ji-hyeon looked at her with a mix of shock and confusion.
"Are you here for the interview? I don't seem to remember seeing you," the lady said.
"Oh, I'm here to accompany two friends who are interviewing for the female lead roles," Yoon Hyun said. From the lady's demeanor and the girls' reactions, he guessed she might be an important staff member of the production.
"Oh, I see." The lady nodded and extended her hand, "Let me introduce myself, I'm Kim Eun-sook, the screenwriter of 'Lovers in Prague.'"
"Ah! Nice to meet you. I'm Yoon Hyun," Yoon Hyun shook her hand, "I'm a student."
"Yoon Hyun xi, have you ever acted before?" Kim Eun-sook asked directly.
"Me? No, I haven't." Yoon Hyun shook his head. Even in his previous life, he had never had the chance to act in a school play.
"Is that so? That's a bit of a shame," Kim Eun-sook said, "I think you have a quality that suits a character in my drama. Would you like to try?"
"Character?" Yoon Hyun was taken aback, "Me?"
"Yoon Hyun OPPA, you should give it a try!" Bae Blue urged from the side.
"Um... if you don't mind me wasting your time, I'd be willing to try," Yoon Hyun was somewhat moved by Bae Blue's words. After all, such an opportunity that falls into your lap is like having a protagonist's aura!
"Then give it a try," a man with a dark complexion said.
Since it was a last-minute addition, Yoon Hyun was given 5 minutes to familiarize himself with the script. The role given to him was the younger brother of the main character, a role that should have a childlike feel. However, the director and screenwriter had interviewed several child actors and felt something was missing.
When the screenwriter saw Yoon Hyun from behind, a sudden idea came to her: could she adjust the age of this character?
Thus, Yoon Hyun, who inspired this idea, got this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Although he had never studied Stanislavski's acting theory, thanks to his previous life as a pseudo-fan, he had watched a few famous comedy compilations on a football program called "The World of Football," titled "The Actor's Self-Cultivation." At the time, he laughed so hard that he even sought out the book to read...
This unexpected accumulation gave him some idea of how to act "from the heart." Of course, this phrase was something he heard in a comedy TV series.
Putting theory into practice.
Moreover, his second favorite actor in his previous life was Tony Leung, known for his ability to act with his eyes. Yoon Hyun thought he might be able to handle this "from the heart" style.
After two minutes of reading the script and three minutes of getting into character, Yoon Hyun performed the part of the script the director had chosen to test him.
However, from the director's unhidden disappointment, it was clear that the performance was terrible.
"Try not to act, just be yourself," the screenwriter said, frowning but unwilling to give up.
Yoon Hyun, feeling quite defeated, pulled himself out of what he thought was "getting into character" and returned to his natural state.
This relaxation actually made the director and screenwriter see him in a new light. The lines that had seemed awkward before now flowed more smoothly.
"Fill out this form," the director pulled out a blank actor's interview form from his bag and handed it to Yoon Hyun. "Remember to leave your phone number."
As Yoon Hyun took the form and started filling it out, Bae Blue and Lee Ji-hyeon looked at him with envy.
Yoon Hyun quickly filled out the form. It wasn't because he was fast, but because he had no training or acting experience to write.
"Hmm, born in 1987, so you're still quite young! Why do you dress so maturely?" The dark-skinned man, Director Shin Woo-chul, first focused on Yoon Hyun's age.
When he said this, Yoon Hyun noticed a hateful look in Bae Blue and Lee Ji-hyeon's previously envious eyes.
A cold wind blew down Yoon Hyun's neck, making him shiver.
"You're a student at Seoul National University?" Screenwriter Kim Eun-sook focused on another point.
"Yes, I entered the philosophy department in January this year," Yoon Hyun answered honestly.
"Ha, that's a high achiever," the screenwriter nodded, but it was unclear what she meant.
Yoon Hyun, feeling a bit embarrassed, scratched his head, bowed to the screenwriter and director, and led Bae Blue and Lee Ji-hyeon out of the interview room.
As soon as they sat in the car, even before fastening their seat belts, Bae Blue said in a sweet, cloying voice, "Yoon Hyun OPPA, are you really born in 1987?"
Yoon Hyun laughed dryly, fastened his seat belt, and didn't answer.
"Yoon Hyun xi, can I see your ID card?" Lee Ji-hyeon, sitting behind the driver's seat, placed her hand on Yoon Hyun's shoulder.
Although it was light, the chill from her hand made Yoon Hyun feel frozen.
"OPPA, aren't you going to say something?" Bae Blue continued to pout, but her voice had a hint of menace.
"Um, ladies, I'll drop you off at the company first, I have something to do this afternoon," Yoon Hyun tried to change the subject.
"Cut the crap, where's your ID card?" Lee Ji-hyeon's hand, which had been lightly on his shoulder, now lightly gripped Yoon Hyun's neck. Her long nails casually touched his throat, making Yoon Hyun almost unable to breathe.
"Don't... don't get excited... I'll find it for you!" Yoon Hyun, flustered, fumbled in his pocket and pulled out his ID card.
"Born in February 1987, Yoon Hyun, you're quite something! You let NUNA call you OPPA for over a month?" Lee Ji-hyeon, after seeing the birthdate, laughed in anger.
"Um... you never asked me, and I thought you were both born after 1990," Yoon Hyun tried to ease the tension with flattery.
"Hey! Who are you calling born after 1990?" Bae Blue, with her childlike face, was always sensitive about this point because it had cost her roles in interviews.
"I meant Ji-hyeon," Yoon Hyun had to admit defeat.
"Hey, did Unnie Ji-hye never teach you how to speak to your seniors?" Lee Ji-hyeon's hand, like a tightening noose, started to apply more pressure.
"Stop, Ji-hyeun NUNA, it hurts!" Yoon Hyun immediately admitted defeat without any dignity.
Lee Ji-hyeon didn't lessen her grip, "Who told you to call me NUNA? Are we that close? Huh?"
"Ah, I'm sorry, Lee Ji-hyeon xi, I was wrong, please let me go!"
"Then what about me?" Bae Blue started to pinch Yoon Hyun's arm.
"Full Bae Blue xi, I was wrong, please let me go!"
After this commotion, Bae Blue and Lee Ji-hyeon felt they had let off some steam, and the car returned to silence.
"Cough!" Yoon Hyun cleared his throat to get their attention, "Let's get to know each other again. I'm Yoon Hyun, born on February 13, 1987. I grew up in Ulsan and now study philosophy at Seoul National University. My hobbies are surfing the internet and reading. I'm 184 cm tall and weigh 70 kg..."
"Um, hello, I'm Lee Ji-hyeon, nice to meet you."
"Hello, I'm Bae Blue, nice to meet you."
"..."
Yoon Hyun felt as stupid as a dog...
Finally, he dropped the two ladies off at the company and met his sister Yoon Ji-hye for lunch.
"We don't want to trouble Yoon Hyun xi," Bae Blue said politely.
"What's going on?" Yoon Ji-hye immediately sensed the strange atmosphere.
"Bae Blue NUNA, I've already admitted my mistake, please forgive me," Yoon Hyun smiled bitterly and pleaded again.
"NUNA?" Yoon Ji-hye instantly understood and covered her mouth to laugh.
"Ji-hye isn't a good person either, teaming up with her brother to trick us."
"Hey, Bae Blue, it was a misunderstanding! This guy begged me not to tell you he was younger, and I told you several times not to call him OPPA, but you didn't listen!" Yoon Ji-hye immediately started to plead her case.
"I didn't..." Yoon Hyun wanted to say he didn't ask, but Yoon Ji-hye's gaze silenced him.
"Alright, Bae Blue, there's no need to be angry anymore," Lee Ji-hyeon, seeing Yoon Ji-hye's helpless look, felt a bit uncomfortable. "From now on, we'll treat Yoon Hyun xi as a peer."
"Ji-hyeon, you're a good person," Yoon Hyun was deeply moved.
Bae Blue wanted to argue further but, seeing Yoon Ji-hye's expression, kept her words to herself.
"To thank Bae Blue xi and Ji-hyeon xi for being so understanding, I'll treat you all to Korean BBQ for lunch!" Yoon Hyun pretended to be in pain as he made the decision.
"Brother, your acting is terrible. How can you expect sympathy like that?" Yoon Ji-hye said dismissively.
"Ji-hye, talking about this is still annoying!" Lee Ji-hyeon suddenly remembered, "Today, he was supposed to accompany us to the interview, but neither Bae Blue nor I made it, while he might be selected for a drama."
"What?" Yoon Ji-hye looked at her brother in disbelief.
"Ah, let's not talk about this, let's go eat!" Yoon Hyun tried to change the subject, but couldn't hide his proud smile.
