Lin Qiangsheng stood at the entrance of the factory, looking at the sign on the gatepost, feeling as if the world had turned upside down!

The gray and mottled wooden board, with the characters that seemed about to fall off!

The Jiang'an Auto Repair and Parts Manufacturing Factory, known to everyone as the Jiang'an Auto Repair Factory. The main daily work of the factory was indeed vehicle repair.

"What's wrong? Let's go!" Lin Xiangrong, with his hands behind his back, walked ahead. He turned his head and saw his son standing dazed at the gate, so he couldn't help but call out.

"Oh, coming." Lin Qiangsheng, hearing his father call, hurriedly stepped into the factory gate.

The father and son entered the factory manager's office and met Manager Chang Yuanting.

"Manager, this is my son, I've brought him here," Lin Xiangrong said with a smile.

Manager Chang Yuanting, around 60 years old, was a tall and dignified man. Seeing the father and son enter, he stood up, walked around his desk, and approached Lin Qiangsheng, smiling, "Xiao Lin, what happened to your kid? Did someone beat him up?"

Lin Xiangrong was in his early 40s, but in front of the old factory manager, he was still Xiao Lin.

Standing in front of the tall old factory manager, Lin Qiangsheng couldn't help but shrink his neck. At this moment, his appearance was really not good, with a faint bruise around his right eyelid, and his head wrapped in bandages, it was clear he had been beaten badly.

Lin Qiangsheng tried to move back, feeling somewhat uneasy. He had just been reborn, and it hadn't even been three days when his father brought the still confused Lin Qiangsheng to his workplace, the Jiang'an Auto Repair Factory, to report in.

How he had died and how he had returned to 1977, over 30 years ago, all of this left him very bewildered and confused!

"Qiangsheng, come over, let the manager take a look at you."

"Manager, take a look. He was beaten up! I told him he would get into trouble if he kept fooling around. Look at him!" Lin Xiangrong turned and glared at his son.

Manager Chang Yuanting laughed loudly, "Alright, Xiao Lin, don't scold your son. Didn't you go through the same thing? Back then, you were even more mischievous than your son!"

Lin Xiangrong chuckled and touched his hair.

Manager Chang Yuanting thought for a moment and said to Lin Xiangrong, "Alright, take Qiangsheng down. I'll talk to Old Zheng and get your son a spot."

Lin Xiangrong laughed loudly, "Thank you, Manager!"

Manager Chang Yuanting waved his hand, smiling, "What are you thanking me for? He's a child of the factory, I can't turn him away!"

Lin Xiangrong nodded heavily and loudly responded, then led Lin Qiangsheng to the workshop.

Lin Qiangsheng followed his father, filled out his name in the office, greeted Aunt Zhao, and received his labor protection gear.

Walking through the old factory, Lin Qiangsheng was still hesitant. How had he been reborn? How did this happen?!

It was 1977, and Lin Qiangsheng was just a few months away from turning 14.

In early March, a cold northeast wind blew through Bin City. There was still some snow in the factory yard, piled in the corners.

The Jiang'an Auto Repair Factory was a place where even birds wouldn't come, located in the northwest of the city, on the south bank of the Songhua River. Because it was by the river, the wind that blew through was especially cool!

Lin Qiangsheng's confused mind was quickly invigorated by the wind.

The Jiang'an Auto Repair Factory covered a large area, with several workshops standing in the bare yard. On both sides of the large yard were sheds, which were the repair stations.

"Master Gu, I've brought my son. Please take care of him," Lin Xiangrong said to a balding master at one of the stations.

"Alright, I'll take him. We're all family," Master Gu smiled.

Seeing Master Gu, Lin Qiangsheng immediately recalled the events of his previous life after he came to the factory.

At that time, Lin Qiangsheng and Master Gu didn't get along well, and later, because of him, his father and Master Gu had a falling out.

Because he was young and couldn't do the work well, Master Gu often scolded him.

When he told his father, his father said, "Then change your master." No one knew what his father and Master Gu had said, but they had a big argument that day. After that, the two families never spoke again.

Master Gu looked at Lin Qiangsheng and smiled, "Alright, Qiangsheng. Follow your seniors and see how they repair the car."

Lin Qiangsheng hesitated, then nodded and looked at the car surrounded by a group of people.

A Beijing 212 Jeep was parked in the station, with seven or eight seniors gathered around it, checking for problems.

Lin Qiangsheng approached and immediately recognized the car.

He remembered this car from his previous life. When he first came to the factory, it took him two days to find the problem.

Lin Qiangsheng looked back and saw his father nod at him before turning and leaving.

He turned to a senior and asked, "What's wrong with the car?"

This senior was named Gu Ming, Master Gu's nephew. He looked at Lin Qiangsheng and said, "It won't start."

Just like the car in his previous memory, he confirmed it was this one.

Lin Qiangsheng nodded and moved closer, smiling at a senior next to him.

This senior was about 17 or 18 years old, also a child of the factory, named Zou Xue.

Zou Xue glanced at Lin Qiangsheng, laughed, and moved aside.

They all knew each other, though not very well, as they all lived near the factory.

Lin Qiangsheng looked ahead and saw two young men standing on either side of the Jeep. One was Master Gu's son, Gu Hongliang, and the other was Chen Bing.

Lin Qiangsheng looked at Chen Bing, who was about 18 years old. Seeing him, Lin Qiangsheng immediately thought of his sister, Chen Yao.

Chen Yao was his first love, a love that never began. Of course, she was also his second wife, whom he married after his first wife passed away.

"Qiangsheng, go up and see if you can find anything," Master Gu asked him.

Lin Qiangsheng nodded and moved closer.

"Huh, why won't this car start!" Gu Hongliang said, puzzled.

"Have you checked everything?" Chen Bing asked himself.

"We've checked everything! Why can't we find the problem?!" Gu Hongliang looked up at his father.

"Why are you looking at me? Check it yourselves. If you can't fix it, no one eats!" Master Gu said sternly and turned back to the workshop.

"Ah!" The young men sighed deeply.

Once Master Gu entered the workshop, they all found places to sit, except for a few seniors who remained by the car.

Lin Qiangsheng moved closer to the 212 and asked Chen Bing with a smile, "Senior, what's wrong with the car?"

Chen Bing looked at him and said, "It won't start."

Gu Hongliang cursed, "Strange, this broken car!" He slapped the car and sat down dejectedly.

Lin Qiangsheng rubbed his cold ears and put on a pair of white gloves, then began checking the fuel system.

Chen Bing looked at him and said, "You're not familiar, don't touch it yet!"

Lin Qiangsheng looked at him and smiled, "It's okay, I'm quite familiar with this car."

Chen Bing looked at Lin Qiangsheng but didn't stop him. However, his face clearly showed, "You're just pretending."

Lin Qiangsheng checked the car's condition. The 212 Jeep was just like he remembered, with fuel and spark, but it wouldn't start.

However, in his previous life, he only remembered everyone being busy and didn't recall the specific problem.

"Brother Chen, is there any problem with the car before it stopped?" Lin Qiangsheng asked Chen Bing.

"Everything was normal before it stopped," Chen Bing, seeing Lin Qiangsheng checking the car seriously, answered.

Lin Qiangsheng nodded and first checked the carburetor. The float level was normal, so the fuel system was likely not the issue.

He then checked the electrical system. He opened the distributor cap, pulled out the high-voltage wire, and repeatedly moved the platinum contacts, checking the high-voltage spark with the ignition switch on, testing multiple times.

Lin Qiangsheng saw that the high-voltage spark was intermittent, suggesting the platinum contacts might be burned.

He took a sanding strip, cleaned the contacts, and adjusted the gap, but it still wouldn't start.

"Can you do it? We've already cleaned that part, you'll just wear it out!" Gu Hongliang teased loudly, causing everyone to laugh.

Lin Qiangsheng smiled but ignored them and continued checking the car.

He used a screwdriver to ground the moving contact to the distributor base, but it didn't improve.

He disconnected the low-voltage wire and checked the grounding, which was normal, indicating no problem with the front part of the circuit.

Lin Qiangsheng then checked sequentially. When he reached the wire connection between the condenser and the breaker arm spring, he found that the cross screw on the insulator was loose.

Lin Qiangsheng immediately found the problem. The loose cross screw affected the low-voltage circuit at the platinum contacts, causing the high-voltage spark to be intermittent.

He tightened the cross screw, restoring normal conductivity.

He smiled at everyone, walked up, opened the car door, and got into the driver's seat.

He turned the key, and the engine started!

"Chug, chug, chug, chug, chug...."

Lin Qiangsheng was delighted. He turned the steering wheel happily, feeling very pleased.

"Chug, chug..." The old 212's engine sounded quite powerful.

It was that simple! He fixed it easily!

Lin Qiangsheng jumped out of the car, closed the hood, and turned to the group, smiling, "It's fixed. Who wants to take it for a spin?"

"Wow, you're good!" Gu Hongliang jumped up and came to the car. He looked at the slightly shaking body and patted Lin Qiangsheng's shoulder hard.

The others also stood up, gathered around the car, and began to seriously examine this new colleague.

Chen Bing was puzzled. How could this new kid fix it so quickly?

Why couldn't they find the problem, but a new guy did? He didn't see clearly where Lin Qiangsheng had fixed it.

"Have you repaired cars before?" Chen Bing asked Lin Qiangsheng, puzzled.

"I have a few books on car repair at home. I read them when I had nothing to do," Lin Qiangsheng said.

Chen Bing shook his head, not believing it.

Gu Hongliang said loudly, "My dad has many car repair books too. Why can't I understand them, but you can?"

Lin Qiangsheng smiled, seeing no need to explain.

Chen Bing waved his hand, "Alright, turn off the car." He looked at Lin Qiangsheng again, not wanting to ask more as the senior, and turned to the workshop.

"You're good!" Gu Hongliang smirked at Lin Qiangsheng and sat down.

Gu Ming was friendly to Lin Qiangsheng, smiling at him. The few seniors also looked at this new junior with curiosity.
