Chapter 13

Really, if it weren't for the Red Queen saying that a formation of Umbrella Corporation's helicopters loaded with heavy armaments was flying over, Chu Ci would have turned on the spot and seized control of the Avengers.
Even if Chu Ci didn't immediately turn, it was almost the same.
"Sir, the Avengers' armor has been deployed, the helicopter formation is returning."
"Sir, the Umbrella equipment has been deployed, the control chip command code decoding is complete."
Kain had a busty, curvy blonde as his secretary, while Chu Ci had a flat-chested, red-and-white little girl. However, there was no doubt that their abilities were worlds apart.
"Activate the Avengers."
"Seize the Avengers."
The two commands with the same goal were issued. Kain's blonde secretary let out a cry of alarm: "Sir, our satellite has been hacked by an unknown source."
While the expressionless little girl in front of Chu Ci declared victory: "Sir, the Avengers' control rights have been successfully seized. They are now moving toward the special equipment and are expected to be fully armed in 5 minutes."
"Waste!"
"Very good!"
Unlike Kain's explosive anger, Chu Ci was in a good mood. He called up a command symbol to lock onto Avenger 1, the original STARS captain James, pondered for a moment, and began setting action commands. Although he worked for Oracle in the real world, his long-term 'part-time' work gave Chu Ci rich 'experience,' at least enough to set up simple operation instructions.
"Hmm, forward, backward, left, and right are W, S, A, and D. Jump is J, crouch is K, block is L, lock is space, then U key is for melee, I key for the machine gun, O key for the anti-tank rocket launcher, Q and E keys for reloading the machine gun and rocket launcher, Z key for concentrated fire, X key for guard, C key for free fire..." Chu Ci set up the basic key positions. Although it looked simple, with the cooperation of the control chip, he could easily control the Avengers.
He replicated the same settings on the other Avengers. As a female close-combat specialist, Rain was even equipped with a chainsaw blade by Umbrella, arming all the Avengers to the teeth.
"Awesome!" Chu Ci gave himself 32 thumbs up and whistled lightly.
"Avengers, move out!"
Chu Ci controlled Avenger 1, with the other six as support. The combat template implanted in the control chip turned all the Avengers into warlords, charging out of the building.
"Boom!"
"Shit, there's an explosion!"
Carlos cursed and quickly threw himself to the ground, protecting two surviving teammates. The debris from the explosion fell on him, making him feel uncomfortable all over.
"Damn, there are people."
Chu Ci raised his hand to touch his chin, a bit embarrassed by the screen. He quickly pressed the retreat button and kept the team in guard mode to avoid the other Avengers accidentally killing the survivors.
"Fuck, what are these monsters!" Carlos looked up and saw seven towering figures, each about eight feet tall. With the help of the gun lights, he was instantly frightened and grabbed his TAR21 assault rifle, ready to strike first.
"Hey, tough guy, if you don't want to die horribly, don't shoot." Before Carlos could pull the trigger, a light voice came from the crowd of monsters. Carlos initially ignored it, but when seven red aiming lights landed on him, he dared not shoot.
"Very good, at least you're rational." Chu Ci sighed in relief. The combat template of the Avenger control chip had a condition for retaliating when obstructed. Chu Ci didn't want to and didn't think it was necessary to change it, so if the soldier in front of him acted rashly, he would really be shot dead by the Avengers.
"Who are you?" Carlos observed carefully and immediately saw the small speaker attached to Avenger 1's chest armor.
"I... I'm a big good guy..." Chu Ci laughed behind the screen, while controlling the computer. He moved the gun away as he spoke. The moment Carlos relaxed, the electronically controlled Gatling gun spewed a stream of death.
"Rat-tat-tat!" A standard three-shot burst penetrated the flesh!
"Son of a bitch!" Carlos was about to shoot, but he had forgotten. Avenger 3, Rain, rushed forward, deformed her hand, and exploded the assault rifle's barrel. Carlos didn't even have the chance to switch weapons before Rain punched him in the abdomen, sending him flying more than half a meter high.
"Damn!" Nikolai's eyes turned red. Just then, Yuri had blocked in front of him, taking three fatal bullets. Before Carlos hit the ground, Nikolai pulled out his M92FS pistol and pointed it at the Avengers.
"Roar!" Avenger 2, JD, immediately fired. With his eye-tracking system, he shot a burst that exploded Nikolai's pistol, the metal shards tearing open his palm and hitting his eye socket, nearly blinding him.
"Young man, calm down." Chu Ci was surprised to learn from the Red Queen that the two UBCS privates in front of him were actually younger than himself, one 21 and the other not even 20. It seemed that Caucasians matured early, but their personalities didn't match their faces, being too impulsive.
"Fu...ck..." Nikolai tried to curse again, but JD fired another burst, landing an inch below his crotch, almost castrating him without anesthesia.
The threat of life and death finally made the two stop all resistance, obediently putting their hands on their heads and squatting in the corner. "Very good, finally my turn to speak."
Chu Ci thought for a moment, then left the two to their own devices, went to the tea room, and squeezed a cup of carrot juice, sipping it slowly as he revealed the true face of Umbrella to these mercenaries.
"... You've seen those zombies. Once your teammate is bitten, there's no way he can survive. He just reached the threshold of zombification. For your safety, I helped him find peace."
"Shit, Umbrella, they lied to me!" Carlos's hard face twisted, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Right, do you want to take revenge on Umbrella?" Chu Ci guided him.
"Who the hell are you? How do you know so much!" Carlos, now clear-headed, began to suspect Chu Ci's identity.
"I, a former Umbrella employee who accidentally discovered the true face of Umbrella and decided to fight for human safety as a liberalist." Chu Ci paused, his eyes scanning to one side, directly using the real identity of Matt, as revealed by the Red Queen, to fill in the blanks.
"Liberalist? Those rioters who always block the entrance to Umbrella?" Carlos immediately associated it with Matt's organization. He had once suppressed riots with his teammates, but now, thinking about it, those so-called 'rioters' were probably human rights activists who knew Umbrella's secrets, and he had been the devil's henchman.
"Damn Umbrella, if I get out, I'll expose their true face!" Nikolai pounded the ground in anger.
"Impossible, Umbrella will cover up all the truth. Survivors will be bought off with money, and the determined ones will be overwhelmed by zombies. Based on my understanding of Umbrella, a high-precision tactical missile will likely bury Raccoon City in history before dawn, and Umbrella will mourn at a press conference, promising that the nuclear power plant leak will never happen again." Chu Ci stated without emotion.
"Impossible, they can't cover it up. They'll be brought to the international court!" Carlos leaped up: "I want to expose them!"
"You won't get out. One hour and seven minutes ago, Umbrella completely closed the security checkpoint at the exit bridge. The moment the T-virus infection reached critical levels, the entire Raccoon City became a giant arena."
"Arena?!" Carlos was seething with anger: "Are we just beasts for their entertainment?"
"No, you're just the appetizer. The real beasts..." Chu Ci paused, then continued: "are right in front of you."
Carlos looked at the metal and violence-filled Avengers and nodded. Indeed, only these monsters could be called true beasts.
"As for the other main character, she's probably still wandering around the city. How about it? Work with me. We need to gather more people, more strength, to break through Umbrella's encirclement and expose their conspiracy to the outside world." Chu Ci extended an invitation.
"Alright, how do I work with you?" Carlos decisively accepted Chu Ci's olive branch.
"First, you need to replenish your ammunition. The Avengers' special weapons are not suitable for you, and I've used some ammunition to clear the Umbrella building's defense and a traitor (Spencer). There's an armed force on 9th Avenue. I'll have Avengers 4, 5, and 6 escort you there. I hope you can get them to join us. Then, I'll have Avenger 7 intercept Alice..."
"Who is Alice?" Carlos couldn't help but ask.
In the dark, surrounded by the burning and the constant sound of zombies, the burning sound severely interfered with Carlos's hearing. Fortunately, with the Avengers' protection, Carlos didn't need to be constantly on edge, allowing him to focus on the upcoming negotiations.
The ugly and mighty Avengers moved with heavy steps, their fully armed special equipment showcasing their formidable destructive power. This trump card made Carlos feel at ease, and then came Chu Ci's calm response.
"Since we have the Avengers, the goddess of justice should also appear!"
A goddess? Carlos couldn't help but fall into deep thought. If the Avengers were so powerful, then Alice, representing the goddess, must be even more formidable.
The only thing Carlos didn't expect was that in the original plot, a single Avenger with average skills was enough to make Alice struggle, and now the Avengers' tactical coordination ability alone could crush seven Alices.
The target game store was just ahead. Carlos took a deep breath and stepped forward.
While Carlos was engaged in tough negotiations, Avenger 7 had already caught up with Alice. In the thermal imaging, Alice, two adults, and an infected were clearly visible.
"Wait!" Alice suddenly felt a chill, as if she were submerged in a deep sea 500 meters below sea level, cold and suffocating!
"What's wrong?" Jill immediately drew her sidearm. Alice's premonitions had helped them avoid many dangers on the way.
"Over there!" Alice pointed under the overpass, where several cars were burning, the smell of burnt gasoline wafting in the wind.
"I don't see anything." Unlike Jill's trust, the black police officer Peyton was skeptical and drew his sidearm, stepping out onto the bridge.
Rat-tat-tat!
Chu Ci fired a few bursts to assert his presence, but he didn't aim at Peyton, only at the bridge under his feet.
"Hey, Alice, long time no see."
