"Turn enemies into friends? No way." Chu Ci used his veto power to reject Bond's second plan and asked him to come up with a third one.
"The third plan? That sounds more feasible, using someone else's hand to kill." Bond, a seasoned agent, didn't even need to think before coming up with a solution based on the second plan.
"We pretend to reconcile with Yin Yihan and use her strength to break the deadlock. When she and the organizers are both weakened, we can strike and defeat both sides." Bond's plan was simple, but it was precisely this simplicity that made it irresistible.
"Alright, you're in charge." Chu Ci made the decision immediately and gave Bond the greatest freedom to handle the situation.
"Sir, our first step is to obtain sufficient military power. Only the military power that can make Yin Yihan wary is the foundation for negotiation." Bond didn't rush out to shout for an alliance but proposed a solution to the weakness of their team: "We should first evacuate the armory and then search for the enhancer mentioned by the organizers. Based on my understanding of this game, this enhancer must be the key and is likely the cornerstone for Angus to turn the tide and defeat the evil forces."
"That makes sense." Chu Ci nodded, after all, if the difficulty of the movie increased, how could the protagonist achieve a perfect ending without a chance to improve?
"So we need to find it as soon as possible..." Bond continued to talk, then suddenly fell silent.
A clear red test tube appeared in Chu Ci's hand, and Bond knew exactly what it was just by looking at it.
"Then we can select the candidates." Bond immediately understood and didn't show any hesitation. He glanced at the instructions Chu Ci had taken out and jumped to the second step: "The success rate of the enhancer is too low. If we both use it, it's unlikely to trigger superpowers. My suggestion is to give it to Angus. Since he is the protagonist of this movie, he should be able to activate superpowers with 100% certainty, otherwise, how can he fight against the organizers..."
Chu Ci initially thought the same, but when Bond mentioned the protagonist, Chu Ci's gaze fell on Bond. After all, Bond could also be considered a protagonist, the undisputed lead of the 007 series, a movie character that captivated an entire era.
"You use it." Chu Ci interrupted Bond's analysis and handed him the enhancer. "Speaking of protagonists, don't forget that you are also a very capable movie protagonist." After summoning Bond, Chu Ci had tried to inform him of his true identity. Bond's adaptability was strong; he accepted the facts in less than five minutes and spent the next few days watching the 007 series while criticizing the differences between the actresses in the movies and those he had personally encountered. Chu Ci had once curiously asked what the differences were, and Bond bluntly said they were much prettier than those in the movies, deeply hurting Chu Ci's feelings as a single man.
Bond, who was in the thick of things, finally reacted and hesitated, asking, "Isn't this a bit inappropriate?"
"Is it inappropriate or just not to your taste?" Chu Ci saw Bond's hesitation and immediately made the decision for him: "Don't worry, even if it doesn't trigger superpowers, it's not your fault. We can just leave if things go south."
Hearing this, Bond felt no pressure and, without a second thought, took out the accompanying syringe, drew the enhancer, and injected it into his arm, then rolled his eyes.
When Bond woke up again, he almost thought he had just fainted briefly, but from Chu Ci's appearance...
"I've been unconscious for a day, haven't I?" Bond looked at the sky and Chu Ci's battle-worn face and made an accurate judgment.
"Yes." Chu Ci rolled his eyes and complained, "If it weren't for the large supply of ammunition I had, I wouldn't have been able to hold off that crazy woman, Yin Yihan."
"Didn't we plan to ally with Yin Yihan? She came to talk about a truce, so why did it turn into a fight?" Bond was puzzled. If they were planning to cooperate, calling for a ceasefire shouldn't have been a problem.
"That's why I say Yin Yihan is a crazy woman. As soon as I mentioned the side plot, she started fighting, leaving no room for cooperation." Chu Ci quickly defended himself and asked Bond to modify the plan again, "I think this veteran cycle player doesn't want to cooperate with me and plans to monopolize all the rewards. So you need to think of another plan to complete our mission despite the interference of veteran cycle players."
"Hmm..." This question stumped Bond. The two of them squatted in the corner, thinking. During this time, Chu Ci smoked half a pack of Peony, and Bond chewed through three Dunhill cigarettes. Finally, when a female participant called for dinner, they came up with a solution.
"Since we're afraid of interference from veteran cycle players, let's just eliminate them." Bond's face showed a murderous intent as he used a spoon to dig into the potatoes on his plate.
"How do we eliminate them?" Chu Ci rolled his eyes again, "Look at Yin Yihan; she alone can beat us and several other participants. Not to mention the other veteran cycle players."
"I didn't say we have to kill all of them, just make sure they can't interfere with us anymore." Bond corrected himself, "First, to deal with Yin Yihan, we either set a trap to kill her or force her to return to the main space, eliminating her chance to cause trouble. For other veteran cycle players, we can threaten, bribe, deceive, or confuse them. They won't be as difficult as Yin Yihan, right?"
"Here's the problem!" Chu Ci picked the mushrooms out of his plate and threw them on the ground. The black mushrooms bounced and rolled in the mud, lying quietly in front of Chu Ci.
"How do we deal with Yin Yihan?"
"Bond, how did the enhancer work?" Chu Ci hoped for results from Bond's use of the enhancer.
"I feel my overall physical condition has improved, but without testing, I don't know the exact data." Bond half-closed his eyes, feeling his condition, then shook his head, "As for superpowers, I have a vague sense, but I can't use them yet. I might need more experiments, but from my personal feeling, it's not a combat enhancement."
"Alright, you keep researching. I'll check on the other rookie." Chu Ci gave Bond space to study and ran over to Hao Jun with his plate.
"Hey, long time no see, what are you doing here?" Chu Ci greeted Hao Jun cheerfully.
"Yes, it has been a long time." Hao Jun's expression was stiff, and he didn't dare to face Chu Ci.
"Indeed, I heard you were just hanging around here. How's it going? Did you get anything useful?" Chu Ci smiled, as if he didn't know Hao Jun's situation at all.
"Ah, I actually..." Hao Jun poured out his grievances, saying how he was ignored after joining the team, how he suffered, and how he didn't get any loot, but Chu Ci saw through his evasive eyes and knew he wasn't telling the whole truth.
"Side plot? Did you get it?" Chu Ci bluntly confronted Hao Jun's thoughts and directly questioned him.
To be honest, Chu Ci didn't see Hao Jun at first and thought he was the only one who had the main characters of the plot. But after today's joint battle, Hao Jun was completely exposed. With a bit of deduction, Chu Ci immediately understood that this guy had hitched a ride on his plan.
"What did you say? I didn't hear clearly." Hao Jun's face turned pale, and he stammered in denial.
"I don't care if you really didn't hear or are pretending. I never ask twice." Chu Ci's eyes gradually turned cold, "Hitching a ride on my plan was your luck, but I won't allow you to do it again."
"What... What do you want to do?" Hao Jun was completely panicked and looked at Chu Ci helplessly.
"Either you leave the team, or I eliminate you." Chu Ci said the two choices without any room for negotiation.
"Can't... Can't we..." Hao Jun's face was full of pleading. If he really left, he would die.
"No." Chu Ci knew that the way cycle players interacted wasn't as rigid as his, and he understood that the cycle world wasn't a one-man game. But in the current situation, apart from Su Jiayou, who had the potential to be a competent teammate, the others were basically just dead weight.
Chu Ci's way of dealing with dead weight was simple—kick them out of the team.
"I'll give you one night to think about it. By tomorrow morning, I don't want to see you." Chu Ci finished his dinner, took his plate, and left, leaving Hao Jun sitting helplessly and panicking.
"Sir, I've found a way to use my superpower." Bond, the elite, figured out how to activate his superpower during the meal. "Let me show you in a quiet place."
The two of them hid in a secluded room in the armory, which was originally used to store ammunition. Since the ammunition was depleted, no one had come here.
"Sir, I've named my superpower 'Mimicry Transformation.'" Bond said as he used his ability.
Suddenly, Bond's skin began to tremble violently, then it started to roll like melted wax. His bones also began to move, making a grating sound as they restructured. His entire body deformed like a slime, and his hair grew rapidly, becoming lighter and lighter until it turned into a bright blonde. His skin also stopped reshaping.
"Cough!" Bond's voice became very clear, and he raised his delicate eyebrows. His throat melted and reshaped again, adding a seductive rasp to his clear voice. He nodded in satisfaction, adjusted the at least two pounds of extra flesh on his chest (men call it extra flesh, women call it breast fat), and smiled proudly at Chu Ci, "This is my favorite female companion, Ursula. Isn't she sexier than in the movies?"
Chu Ci's jaw almost dropped to the ground, and he could only think of a movie he had just watched, which was still on his computer. In the movie, there was a character with a similar ability—Mystique.
"The only downside is that the pupils and blood can't be mimicked. Otherwise, with this superpower, whether for assassination or infiltration, it would be impossible to distinguish the real from the fake." Bond sighed, clearly unsatisfied with the limitations of his superpower.
Chu Ci: "......"
PS: Sorry, the water pipe at home burst, and it took a long time to fix. There's only one chapter tonight, and I'll make up for it tomorrow.
