PS: Cough, cough, it's the fourth day of the Sanjiang event. I'm back again. Everyone, please hold onto your Sanjiang tickets. The first roll is now, with five rolls today. Remember to check the train at 2 PM.

Damn it, Desa Chuci hadn't even opened his eyes when he started cursing. The loss of a strand of mental energy wasn't a big deal; a good night's sleep would restore it. But the rare and beautiful scene of training a female elf in the secret room was something he couldn't bear to let go. It was his own fault for being single.

"The tracking magic on Saphira has been removed. Desa knows the coordinates here. We need to leave quickly." After cursing, Chuci got down to business, summoning a magic spider as a mount and inviting Eragon and Brom to hitch a ride.

"Wow, a mighty magical creation." Brom was startled by the huge and fearsome magic spider and then muttered, "You mages indeed have many strange things." The two of them happily climbed aboard the ride. Saphira eventually stabilized at the size of a giant elephant. Though she couldn't be ridden, she could fly in the sky, soaring alongside the alchemical eagle.

"Be careful, don't destroy my alchemical creation." Chuci gave a warning and, under Brom's guidance, headed toward the last sanctuary of Alagaësia, the land of the freedom-loving Varden.

After leaving Carvahall, the journey was filled with green fields and lush, unexplored forests. The scenery made Chuci feel refreshed, and he took out an apple to munch on. Brom, meanwhile, was doing his best to teach Eragon the ways of the Dragon Rider, including various aerial and ground combat techniques, how to skillfully apply dragon magic in battle, and a few of the most commonly used dragon spells.

One of these was "Draconic Vision Sharing."

Eragon's eyes turned the icy blue of Saphira's dragon eyes, and for a moment, the world seemed to overlap. The subtle difference in perspective between human and dragon was significant. Saphira's vision far surpassed Eragon's, and the vast expanse of the world filled Eragon's chest, giving him a sense of overwhelming relief.

"Feels good, doesn't it, young knight?" Brom grinned, revealing a row of yellow, rotten teeth, his face full of emotion.

Eragon nodded vigorously, his face filled with longing. "The sky is really beautiful. I can't wait to ride a dragon and soar through it."

"You need more stimulation and a brave spirit to make Saphira even stronger," Brom advised at the right moment.

"Stimulating the spirit costs five gold for cavalry, eight gold for infantry."

Chuci made a joke that only he understood, countering Brom, "The strength of the spirit comes not just from courage, but also from compassion, forgiveness, anger, and awe. These are all significant reactions in your spiritual layers, known as the seven emotions and six desires, which are also sources of power."

"Heretical nonsense," Brom interjected calmly.

"Hey, are you looking for a fight?" Chuci almost rolled up his sleeves to fight Brom.

"There's a situation."

"Bandits."

Chuci and Eragon were both startled. With their aerial vision, they immediately spotted the intense slaughter happening not far away.

"Let's go. This is a good opportunity for you to experience true power." The magic spider, sensing Chuci's intent, sped up and headed toward the battle.

There were no cold weapons prepared in the insect space, which was a minor oversight. However, for Chuci, who could create weapons at will, it wasn't a problem. With one hand, he pulled out a sword made of condensed water vapor, which sparkled in the sunlight.

Brom, on the other hand, took out a long, wrapped package and slowly unwrapped it, revealing a magnificent sword. The hilt was wrapped in silver threads, polished like starlight, and the end was teardrop-shaped, inlaid with a quail egg-sized ruby. The smooth, wine-red scabbard was adorned with a flying dragon etching, slightly different from the one on Eragon's palm.

Saphira had planned to lower her altitude to avoid being detected, but when Brom drew his sword, the sharp blade curved elegantly, converging at the tip, and the blood-red glow on the blade startled her. She flapped her wings and flew even higher.

"Brom, you scared Saphira," Eragon complained, hearing Saphira's fear and unease in his mind.

"This sword has killed Dragon Riders and drunk the blood of dragons. It is the bane of dragons." Brom casually waved the sword, and the dragon power within him surged through the blade, shooting out a blood-red wave that shattered a nearby rock. "I named it 'Dragon Slayer' Zalrok."

"This sword contains the power of an entire dragon, and not just an ordinary young dragon, but a full-grown one." Chuci observed calmly, noting that the energy index on his alchemical glasses was almost maxed out. This sword was even more powerful than Saphira, who was still flying in the sky. Perhaps Brom's strength came from this sword; otherwise, a Dragon Rider without a dragon would not be so powerful.

"I'm giving it to you. You will become the next Dragon Rider to slay a dragon." Brom handed the weapon to Eragon, who carefully and gently swung the sword, feeling a surge of joy.

Overstimulation, Chuci didn't say much. This way, Eragon's somewhat immature dragon power would be well supplemented, and he wouldn't need to draw power from Saphira, allowing her to grow to her full potential.

"We're here, prepare for battle." The magic spider had already reached the slaughter site. Before them was a one-sided massacre. Nearly a hundred half-armored troops formed a crescent shape, blocking a caravan on the road. Though they left a path for the caravan to escape, anyone who tried to run was shot down by arrows from behind, causing the remaining members of the caravan to be terrified and struggle to defend themselves with their weapons, but they couldn't escape their fate of being killed.

"Those are Urgals, the minions Gabalathis summoned from outside the kingdom, a group of cunning pirates like locusts." Brom immediately recognized the half-armored troops and his anger flared.

"Then let's take them out. No need for words." Chuci noticed Brom was unarmed and used alchemy to create a sword for him, so he would have a weapon. "Here, old man, don't die."

"Hmph, I'm not old yet." Brom's lips curled into a barely noticeable smile as he jumped off the magic spider, stabbing an Urgal with his sword, splattering blood on his face.

"Help us!" The caravan members were overjoyed and quickly called for help.

"Enemies!" The Urgals were in disarray, some turning to attack Chuci and the others, while others continued to attack the caravan. This was one of the reasons they hadn't taken the caravan despite surrounding it for so long; they were a group of barbarians who only knew how to plunder.

The magic spider charged into the Urgal formation, its eight legs supporting it, and the other four legs acting like steel drills, causing chaos among the Urgals. Chuci waved his sword, and a series of alchemical arrays appeared on the blade. Ice spikes shot out, targeting the Urgals. He didn't worry about friendly fire since they were all Urgals.

In the next moment, Brom ducked to avoid an ice spike, hastily blocking a mace with his sword, and kicked the attacker away. He then shouted, "Chuci, keep your eyes open!"

"Cough, cough," Chuci's face turned red, and he looked around before giving Eragon a serious warning, "Remember, this isn't a drill. Don't show unnecessary mercy."
