Chapter 4

The vehicle proceeded to the entrance of Atlanta, and Mori turned off the engine. The two got out and began walking. This time, they didn't dare to be as careless as they were in the small town. There were too many walkers in the city, and if they were to alert them, even a god would find it hard to escape.

Mori held the Big Snake in front, while Kirk held the police pistol at the back. Mori had already warned Kirk that unless it was an emergency and he had Mori's permission, he was not to fire the gun to avoid attracting a horde of walkers. Close combat was best done with a dagger.

Kirk admitted he had never used a dagger before and felt a lot of pressure. So Mori had to teach him some knife skills again. As a result, Kirk was pleasantly surprised to discover that he had acquired a second passive skill: [Basic Small Blade Mastery].

[Basic Small Blade Mastery] Level 1: Improves mastery of small blades such as daggers, long daggers, military knives, and wrist blades, increasing damage by 5% and speed by 5%.

Thus, Kirk reaffirmed his belief that Mori was a gold mine, and he followed closely with a smile.

The two quietly approached the back door of a building on the street. The way ahead was blocked, and Kirk took a quick look. Just like in the original plot, this was a huge intersection with a symbol of the invincible armed forces of the United States of America—an American M1N1 main battle tank—proudly parked by the roadside. However, its driver was dead, hanging from the barrel, torn apart by walkers.

The protagonist Rick had already been here, and his horse was still being dismembered and consumed by the walkers. The blood and fresh meat had attracted almost the entire city's "people," who had blocked the intersection and were still pouring in.

At the feet of the walkers, next to the tank, was a large bag of guns, very conspicuous. This was the purpose of Mori and Kirk's journey.

"That's it," Kirk pointed excitedly.

"Hmm," Mori squinted, "Go get it."

"Okay. What? What did you say!" Kirk jumped up.

"I said go get the bag of guns."

"You want me to go?" Kirk was stunned: "Shouldn't you go?"

"Of course. The reason I taught you how to use guns and knives is so you won't be a burden to me. Now it's time to show your training results," Mori said with a cold smile. "If you don't go, we'll part ways, and you'll be on your own. You choose."

"Damn!" Kirk shouted, "My agility is enough to be a kite for the walkers, isn't it?"

"That's your problem. The difference between you and them is that you still have this," Mori sneered, pointing to his head. "Use it well before you can't use it anymore."

What could Kirk say? He continued to observe.

In the original plot, after Rick was surrounded by walkers, he hid under the tank and then escaped with the help of the Korean, Glenn, who distracted the walkers outside. How could they get that damn bag of guns this time?

Kirk watched and suddenly had an idea. He pointed behind him, and Mori followed.

"I need to find a walker."

"Be my guest," Mori shrugged.

A small stone hit a distant white-collar female walker, drawing her attention. This "lady," who had not been a walker for long and whose face still showed her former beauty, was lured by a series of stones into a small alley, where she was viciously attacked from behind by two hidden thugs, knocked down, and killed. They then dismembered her, pulling out her organs, and the poor "she" never walked out again. (The walkers shouted: "Two beasts! Even after I'm dead, you don't let me go!")

Kirk vomited again, thoroughly disgusted by Mori's brutality.

Just then, he was forced by Mori to kill a walker with his own hands. This was his first time using a dagger, and the feeling of the blade entering the rotten flesh was quite strange. Although he knew rationally that it was no longer human, its face was still relatively intact, and he had to stab her head, with the rotten brain splattering on his face. He was then forced to cut open her abdomen and dig out her organs, starting to get used to the strong odor of the walkers, but this time he had to cut them open, dealing with rotten organs, intestines, and blood, all of which were poured onto his body, making the stench unbearable, even Mori kept his distance.

"Who would have thought, you dumb kid, you could come up with this idea, but if they recognize you're not one of them, I won't save you," Mori chuckled. "You performed really poorly just now, like a woman. You'll have to get used to it."

Kirk vomited again, feeling sour, and said irritably, "No problem, if I die, I'll come find you at night."

Then, a creature even more like a walker than a walker walked onto the streets of Atlanta.

Kirk slowly mimicked the way walkers walked, inching closer to the horde of walkers.

A few wandering walkers approached Kirk, sniffed his odor, and, finding him too smelly, left disappointed.

Kirk was overjoyed. To say he wasn't scared would be a lie. Kirk was now perfectly mimicking the trembling legs of a walker, but in reality, he was shivering and sweating profusely.

Especially as he moved forward, more and more walkers surrounded him, and the risk of his human scent being detected was high. However, it was now or never, and he had to push through.

There were too many walkers. Despite Kirk's dodging, he was still knocked down by a clumsy passerby who was fighting for food, affecting Kirk as well. The highlight was that the large intestine Kirk wore around his neck as a scarf flew off.

"Oh no!" Kirk thought, not daring to look up, and crawled to pick up the stinking, rotten intestine, which now attracted him more than his favorite German sausage.

Unexpectedly, a curious walker picked up the intestine and took a few bites. Perhaps he had a strong taste, and the intestine reminded him of his favorite food in life (Kirk thought, "Not German sausage, right?"). So he chewed it with large bites!

Kirk cursed inwardly, wondering what kind of person this was, not even sparing his own kind.

He had to continue walking.

But misfortune never comes alone.

The walker with the strong taste, like a new discovery, chewed the "German sausage" and followed the smell back to its source.

Kirk was in a bind but didn't dare to run, as that would mean certain death. He could only move faster.

However, this food lover, who was likely a former race walker, caught up quickly and bit Kirk's neck.

Kirk was so scared he wet himself and screamed, drawing the attention of all the walkers.

Fortunately, the gourmet aimed for a piece of organ on Kirk's neck, bit it, tasted it, and spat it out.

Kirk was almost at his breaking point but had to continue moving forward. His disguise was almost gone.

The "gourmet" had no intention of letting him go and came closer, taking another piece of intestine from Kirk's waist, showing a particular fondness for intestines.

Kirk could see more and more walkers sniffing the air, sensitive to the human scent.

Kirk didn't want to become one of them and continued moving. Finally, he reached the bag of guns and eagerly grabbed it.

However, the "gourmet" was impressed by Kirk's taste and believed that anything he touched was a treasure. So he came back, acting as a robber, to snatch the gun bag from Kirk.

Kirk was in a bind again. He wasn't even as strong as a normal man, and there was no way he could compete with a post-death, super-strong, food-loving walker.

Mori was laughing so hard he was rolling on the ground, this dumb kid.

If it weren't a matter of life and death, Kirk would have laughed too. This guy was definitely a comedian in life, and even as a walker, he had a sense of humor!

But now, he was in the middle of thousands of bloodthirsty monsters, and the most ridiculous thing was happening to him!

Kirk grabbed the gun bag and quickly moved away.

The "gourmet" chased after him again. The surrounding walkers were now suspicious of Kirk's identity, just as they would be suspicious of an Asian's American citizenship on the street, and they coldly surrounded him.

Seeing the good situation about to be ruined by this guy, Kirk was furious and pulled out a police riot gun from the bag, pointing it at the "gourmet's" stinking mouth.

"Let me give you a taste of this, you bastard!"

He angrily pulled the trigger!

The "gourmet's" last meal ended with his jaw separating from his head, his brain splattering everywhere. His dentures even flew to the McDonald's sign on the roadside, a fitting end.

Then, Kirk started running!

Like a bank robber with millions, he ran!

He ran and fired, using the shotgun until it was empty, then used the gun to hit the walkers, charging forward.

However, the road ahead was narrow, and after running for a few dozen meters, he couldn't go any further. The walkers were as dense as the crowds in Beijing's Xidan and Wangfujing.

"This is it!" Kirk lamented.

Suddenly, a motorcycle roared in, its powerful engine crushing the walkers, and it charged directly at Kirk.

"Boss Mori!" Kirk's eyes welled up with tears. "You finally came to save me, I won't call you a white pig anymore..."

But the rider, wearing a helmet, grabbed the gun bag and tried to leave without Kirk!

Kirk was furious, grabbed the gun bag, and shouted, "Robbery! Biker gang! Mori, you white pig! Police! Cops!"

The scene fell silent. The walkers were clearly trying to remember what a biker gang and a police officer were, and what a white pig and a cop were, but they were confused.

The rider hesitated, and Kirk jumped on the motorcycle, "If you don't want to die, let's go!"

The motorcycle sped away.

Kirk was thrown to the ground, bound and gagged.

Many feet stepped on him, and Kirk knew the rider wasn't Mori. He cursed, "I must have offended someone. Why do people keep putting their smelly feet on me?"

A Spanish-accented voice said, "What do we do with him?"

"Kill him!"

Then he heard the sound of a gun being cocked. Kirk had a sudden idea, recognizing the accent and the location of Atlanta, and shouted, "Don't shoot, I'm a prophet!"

There was silence, then a gun butt hit him, and blood flowed from his nose.

"What kind of prophet!"

"How do you know I'm a prophet?" Kirk decided to play the role. "You're Guillermo!"

"Huh?" Kirk was lifted up, "How do you know my name?"

"Not only do I know your name, but I also know your current situation," the "prophet" Kirk continued. "Your grandparents are in this nursing home, and they lack medical care, food, and weapons. So you risked your life to get the guns, right? But you encountered me, so you decided to rob me instead?"

"Let him go," a frail old woman's voice said.

Kirk's hood was removed, and he saw a young black man and an elderly woman. The young man said, "Grandma, we can't trust this liar! He's not a prophet, and we can't take the risk. We have to kill him!"

"Guillermo, I know he's not a prophet, but he brought the guns," the old woman smiled.

"But I brought the guns!" Guillermo was furious.

"He found them first, and he knows our situation. He's our savior," the old woman smiled again.

Guillermo had no choice and signaled the young men to disperse.

The old woman took the "prophet" Kirk on a tour of the nursing home. As Kirk already knew, the situation was dire. The elderly couldn't move, and the young people, out of filial piety, couldn't leave them to die, so they were defending the place. Now, the elderly were well cared for, with doctors, nurses, and guards. They were living well.

Kirk also saw Glenn, the Korean-American character kidnapped by Guillermo in the original plot. He was also taking care of the elderly, and Rick and the others hadn't come to pick him up yet.

In the original plot, Glenn was kidnapped by Guillermo when he tried to retrieve the gun bag. Now, Kirk had completed the task.

Kirk approached Glenn, mentioning Mori, and Glenn's face changed. However, Kirk also mentioned Rick and the others, and Glenn, though suspicious, accepted Kirk's "prophet" status.

Then, there was a commotion up ahead.

"Are the walkers attacking or has Rick found us?" Kirk thought. In the original plot, Rick and the others found the nursing home to rescue Glenn and retrieve the guns. After seeing the dire situation, Rick generously gave half the guns to the nursing home and left with Glenn.

A happy ending, right? But! Kirk had seen the deleted scenes, and in reality, the nursing home eventually fell. The kind old woman became food for the walker Guillermo!

This was the harsh reality. Even with weapons, the nursing home couldn't withstand the horde of walkers!

Guillermo called Mori, who, along with Daryl, was skilled in tracking and followed the motorcycle's trail.
