"Wait a moment!"

As soon as Chen Yihan spoke, he instantly became the center of attention, and everyone turned to look at him.

This feeling of being the focus was quite exhilarating.

Chen Yihan pretended to adjust his collar, then walked step by step to Alice's front, saying with utmost sincerity, "I'll go with you."

"What?" Alice was momentarily taken aback, holding the supermarket door handle, staring blankly at the young man with yellow skin.

Chen Yihan really wanted to hold her hand and say something touching like, "Don't worry, I'm here," but this woman was far from his type. So he firmly said, "I'll go with you, and take you home."

Both Alice and the others in the supermarket were shocked.

In their minds, Asians were even inferior to blacks. Now, in America, a country where heroism was prevalent, when everyone was retreating, an Asian actually stepped forward, making them feel both incredulous and resentful.

Why? An Asian playing the hero here!

"Don't joke around. With your small build, who knows who will end up protecting whom." A man who had hidden at the back spoke sarcastically.

"Right, don't be silly, this isn't a game!" The black man Norton also sternly intervened, "In this situation, we don't know what other dangers are outside. What we need to do is stay in the supermarket and wait for rescue."

"Yes, we don't know what's in the fog, but it's definitely very dangerous."

"James is a good example. Didn't you hear his screams?"

"Death, it's death! Whoever goes out, death will take their life!!"

When Alice looked at them, everyone was silent. But when someone was willing to help her, they all came out to condemn the person who wanted to help.

Chen Yihan didn't say a word because he didn't bother to. These things were already commonplace in his own country, and he was almost immune to them.

Moreover, if he spoke, it might be detrimental to his mission. The most likely outcome would be a decrease in their goodwill towards him. Since it was a mission, he had to consider everything. If there was one thing Chen Yihan was good at, it was gaming. He knew the ins and outs of game missions and their possible changes.

Besides, in a situation like this, he didn't need to say anything.

Sure enough, Alice spoke up, "Shut up!" Then she took a few steps forward, looking at each person who had spoken, and asked angrily, "When I asked who could help me, how did you respond? Now, someone is willing to help me, and how are you treating him? I know you look down on him because he's Asian. But who among you dared to offer to help me? I ask you, who among you is willing to go with me and take me home?!!"

Everyone fell silent, lowering their heads.

Chen Yihan knew Alice wasn't a pushover. Just from her saying "You all go to hell" earlier, he could tell that she would handle these annoying flies without him needing to say anything.

However, it was appropriate to play the good guy at this moment. If there was a pleasant surprise, it would be better, but even without one, he wouldn't lose anything: "Alice, don't say that. They all have their own families. For example, David Drayton, the one holding the child, that's probably his son, and he needs to protect his child. You need to protect your children, and they need to think about their children. I have no ties, so I can do my best to help you."

Alice, either because of Chen Yihan's words or because she saw him as the only one willing to help her, didn't scold the others again. Instead, she walked to Chen Yihan's side, took his hand, and said sincerely, "Thank you. Let's go. I'm very worried about my children, and I want to get home as soon as possible."

"Sure, let's go." As Chen Yihan spoke, the Host Medal "dinged," and a message appeared.

"You have gained Alice's favor in the 'Mist' scenario. Favor +2. If the favor reaches 10 in this scenario, you can permanently increase your Charm by 1 point."

"Favor 2/10"

Chen Yihan was taken aback, thinking, "There really is a surprise." He had expected that it would be related to favor, which would make the mission smoother. But he didn't expect such a significant benefit. If the favor increased to 10, he could permanently increase his Charm by 1 point!

Attributes like Strength, Constitution, Energy, and Agility could be increased with Host Points at the beginner vending machine, but Perception, Will, and Charm were not available. Could it be that these attributes couldn't be exchanged for Host Points, or perhaps they could only be obtained at higher levels?

Even if they could be exchanged, Chen Yihan was sure that these attributes would be much more expensive than the basic attributes like Strength and Constitution.

Chen Yihan turned to the crowd, especially to David Drayton, and said, "Don't worry, I'll do my best to take Alice home. If nothing happens to me, I'll come back. If the fog isn't dangerous, everyone can go back to find their families."

As he spoke, the Host Medal "dinged" again.

"You have gained David Drayton's favor in the 'Mist' scenario. Favor +1. If the favor reaches 10 in this scenario, you can permanently increase your Charm by 1 point."

"Favor 3/10"

Chen Yihan was taken aback again, thinking, "This damn David Drayton is a real scumbag." He had spoken so well earlier, but David didn't give him favor. Now, with a casual remark, he got favor. The American psyche was really hard to grasp.

Chen Yihan deliberately waited a few seconds to ensure no one else gave him favor before he and Alice left the supermarket. To be precise, Alice was holding his hand, and he was being led out.

As soon as they left the supermarket, Chen Yihan and Alice were enveloped in the thick fog. After just a few steps, they could only see a vague outline of the supermarket, showing how dense the fog was and how low the visibility was.

"What do we do?" Alice clung to Chen Yihan's hand, asking in a small, feminine voice.

Chen Yihan cursed in his heart, "How the hell do I know what to do? Without me, you could still get home safely!" But he said gently, "Where is your home, and how far is it from here?"

"Just ahead, very close, it's only a ten-minute drive."

Chen Yihan thought, "So close, no wonder you could get home in the fog and wait for rescue. You must have been lucky." But at this moment, Chen Yihan didn't dare to give any opinions. In the movie, Alice returned home safely on her own. If Chen Yihan gave his opinion now, it might change her original plan and route, and who knew what dangers might arise. So he thought for a moment and said, "Let's do this. I'll follow you, and you decide how to get home and what route to take. After all, I don't know your home or this island at all."

Alice clung to Chen Yihan's hand tightly, as if afraid he would run away, and asked, "Shall we go to the front to get the car and drive back? My house is very close to the road."

"Sure, no problem." Chen Yihan and Alice, with her short hair, walked hand in hand like good friends.

"Aaaah!!!"

As Chen Yihan and Alice were about to get the car in the parking lot, a monster's roar echoed through the sky. They both quickly crouched down, hiding behind a car.

"My God, what is that sound?" Alice was clearly terrified, gripping Chen Yihan's arm so tightly that her nails almost dug into his flesh.

Chen Yihan patted her hand, made a gesture to be quiet, and slowly peeked out from behind the car...

"Damn!" Chen Yihan couldn't help but curse. It was clearly a monster as big as a dinosaur, leisurely walking away. Despite the thick fog, the monster was so large that its outline was still visible.

It seemed he really couldn't wander around randomly and should follow Alice to avoid accidentally entering the monster's territory.

After the monster disappeared into the fog, Chen Yihan crouched down and whispered, "The fog is too thick to see what it is. Let's go quickly, get the car, and take you home."

Chen Yihan and the trembling Alice got the car, an old pickup truck. When they got in, just like in most movies, the engine wouldn't start!

Chen Yihan was also puzzled. The average income in America was high, and cars were cheap. But few people bought luxury cars like Audi, BMW, or Mercedes, or even American brands like Cadillac. Instead, they preferred old pickup trucks and sedans, which Chen Yihan, who had lived in China for over twenty years, couldn't understand.

Given this, it wasn't surprising that these old American cars occasionally wouldn't start.

"What do we do?" After several attempts, Alice finally gave up, turned to Chen Yihan, and looked at him as if he were a savior, her eyes full of pleading.
