After figuring out the reason for the matter, Sun Yang stopped communicating with Zero and placed restrictions on it, prohibiting Zero from accessing his thoughts unless he asked. Through their conversation, Sun Yang learned that Zero had always been able to read his mind, which made him very uncomfortable. This meant he had no secrets at all, so it was better to impose some restrictions.
After stopping the communication with Zero, Sun Yang stood up and respectfully offered incense to his parents. After struggling outside for so many years, he only came back briefly during their anniversaries to offer incense and burn some paper money. Otherwise, he had been wandering around outside, even during the New Year.
Since he had been reborn, he did not plan to go out again. He would stay at home for a few days and spend some quality time with his parents. Even though they were no longer around, he would stay a bit longer.
Sun Yang had already made up his mind. Even though he had been reborn, university was not something he would consider. Since he had come from the future, he knew what the future would be like. His last job was as a courier, and his two colleagues were college graduates. They still worked alongside him, a high school graduate.
Although Sun Yang knew that college graduates would have more opportunities, how much better was a 0.1% chance compared to a 0.01% chance? In the future, the streets would be full of college graduates. If a piece of glass fell and hit ten people, six would be college graduates, and the remaining four would be postgraduates.
He still remembered his score from the college entrance exam, which was only enough for a second-tier university. In the future, first-tier university graduates were already struggling in the job market, and he, with a second-tier degree, would have no chance at all.
Instead of going to college, he might as well go to Lanfei Technical School. At least it was a hacker training base in China, and at least he could work as an excavator operator in Australia and make a fortune. A college graduate, on the other hand, would be nothing.
Although he had knowledge that was almost ten years ahead of the current people, looking at the money he had, he could do nothing. Although he knew that housing prices had not yet skyrocketed as they would in the next few years, if he bought a few houses now, he could make a fortune. But without capital, he could only watch the opportunity slip away.
He really didn't know what the turning point in his life would be. He might as well stay at home for a few days and rest. After struggling for so many years, he needed to rest. Physical fatigue was easy to recover from, but mental fatigue took time.
He walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge, and saw that it was empty, with only a few cans of beer. Sun Yang remembered that since his parents passed away, he had not cooked at home and had always eaten out. Of course, there were no ingredients in the fridge. He smiled bitterly, changed his clothes, and went out to buy vegetables and various seasonings. After struggling for so many years, he had learned to save and cook, and he no longer had any interest in outside food.
Walking down the street, looking at the streets and shops that existed only in his memories, Sun Yang felt a lot of emotions. Who would have thought that he was a person who had lived ten extra years? He remembered that the last time he came back, the streets were already different. He didn't even go home, just stayed in a hotel for two days, and then left to continue wandering.
Following his memory, Sun Yang arrived at a nearby market. It wasn't really a market, just a wide alley where farmers from nearby villages and middlemen set up stalls to sell vegetables, making life convenient for the residents nearby.
Sun Yang skillfully picked out the vegetables he needed. Most of the sellers were local farmers, and the vegetables were grown by themselves, so the quality was guaranteed.
"Sun Yang? What are you doing here?"
Just as Sun Yang was examining a pile of spinach, someone called out to him. He straightened up and saw a girl about his age standing next to him. She looked familiar, and since she could call out his name, she must be a classmate.
To be honest, after his parents passed away, Sun Yang became very introverted. During his three years of high school, he always kept to himself. Many classmates knew him but not his name. Since he had been away from school for over ten years, he couldn't remember who this girl was. However, she was very beautiful, not inferior to the internet celebrities he had seen in the future. This was her natural face, without any Photoshop or makeup, and he saw her as she truly was.
"Um, I'm buying vegetables. Are you buying vegetables too?"
Since he couldn't remember her name, Sun Yang could only give a generic response.
"Yes, my mom asked me to buy some scallions and ginger. We ran out at home. By the way, Sun Yang, you always eat out. Why did you suddenly decide to buy vegetables?"
The girl said, not noticing that Sun Yang didn't know her name.
"Oh, I suddenly felt like cooking. I'm tired of eating out. I won't bother you anymore."
Sun Yang gave a brief response. Although he felt like he had the fate of a protagonist after getting Zero, he wasn't a playboy who fell in love with everyone he met. Although the girl was very beautiful, Sun Yang had no interest in pursuing her. The world lacked many things, but it certainly didn't lack people. If he missed this one, there would be another.
"Hey, you don't even chat a bit with a classmate. Well, tomorrow is the day to fill out college applications. Which school are you planning to apply to? Your grades are pretty good, so you should be able to get into a college."
The girl was speechless. Usually, boys would try to please her, but Sun Yang was different. She knew about Sun Yang's situation. In school, he was like an invisible person. They had no interaction, but since they met today and tomorrow was the day to fill out applications, she wanted to chat a bit. However, Sun Yang seemed to dislike talking to her.
"Oh, I don't plan to go to college. I'm going to go out and explore. A college degree without a background won't make it easy to succeed in society, so I plan to enter the 'university of life' early."
Sun Yang didn't hide anything; he didn't think it was shameful not to go to college.
"Ah? You don't plan to continue your education? That's too bad. I heard from the teacher that your scores were good this time. You should be able to get into a second-tier university. The teacher has already thought of some schools for you."
The girl was disappointed when she heard Sun Yang's plan. Unlike Sun Yang, she hadn't cut off all ties with the school. She had been to the school a lot in the past two days and knew some things.
