Because of a word from Xiao Hui's mother, Sun Yang received the courier's package on the third day and obtained his first passport in his life. Sun Yang was very grateful to Xiao Hui, but he felt ashamed that after several days, he still did not know Xiao Hui's full name. At that time, information was not as advanced, and he could not find his class information online. Moreover, he did not have a classmate directory, and his contact with others was basically zero. He had nowhere to go to inquire, so Sun Yang could only silently say sorry to Xiao Hui.
With the passport in hand, the next step was the visa issue, which was very easy to handle. Sun Yang went to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China with Lawyer Park Jeong-myeong. With Lawyer Park Jeong-myeong's guarantee, Sun Yang's visa was processed without any difficulty, and it was even a long-term work visa.
Although he had a work visa, Lawyer Park Jeong-myeong still suggested that Sun Yang apply for a Korean green card after arriving in Korea. Since Sun Yang's uncle, Sun Yuanzheng, had already become a Korean citizen, with a little effort, Sun Yang could smoothly obtain a Korean green card.
Using the remaining savings to buy a plane ticket, fortunately, Korea was not far away; otherwise, the remaining money might not have been enough for the travel expenses. Sun Yang was very clear that the law firm would not cover the travel expenses; it was already quite good that they came all the way to find him.
After the plane took off, Sun Yang looked down at the land beneath him, never imagining that he would leave his hometown one day. Thinking about the unfamiliar Korea, Sun Yang felt a bit timid. He could only speak some simple English, and his Korean was limited to a few words like "oppa," "unnie," and "seumida," which he had learned from variety shows. Now, he was directly heading to Korea, and even though Sun Yang was already very mature and steady, he still had some worries.
After three or four hours, the plane landed at Incheon Airport. The law firm had already sent a car. Lawyer Park Jeong-myeong's law firm was a very formal and international one. Since Sun Yang's uncle, Sun Yuanzheng, had entrusted them, they were naturally responsible for everything.
Lawyer Park Jeong-myeong did not take Sun Yang to the law firm to handle the handover procedures but first brought him to the place where he would inherit the estate, giving Sun Yang a general understanding.
They arrived at a street behind a not very wide main road. Sun Yang noticed that the environment was quite good, close to the city's main road, and the commercial area was excellent, with many different types of shops on this street, including restaurants.
According to the introduction by Li Xiangguo, the interpreter, this was the Gangnam District of Seoul. Sun Yang knew about Gangnam because of the song "Gangnam Style" by a Korean fat man, which had become a brainwashing hit. For a period, the song was played everywhere, and this made Sun Yang remember that Korea also had a Gangnam.
"Sun Yang, this is Apgujeong-dong in Gangnam District, a bustling area in Seoul. Having a restaurant here is quite an achievement. Your uncle seems to have a decent fortune. There are many entertainment companies here, so you will probably see many beautiful women in the future."
After a few days of interaction, Sun Yang and Li Xiangguo got along very well. Li Xiangguo was around 23 or 24 years old and had studied in China. Sun Yang's mental age was also quite mature, and they quickly became friends. On the way to Sun Yang's uncle's restaurant, Li Xiangguo introduced the nearby area to Sun Yang.
Sun Yang had a certain understanding, but he did not have much interest in Korean idols. Sun Yang had a mild face blindness, especially with Korean idols who had similar plastic surgery. He often mistook them, but if he studied carefully, he could recognize them. For example, he could recognize all the hosts in the Korean variety shows he liked.
When the car stopped in front of a restaurant with the sign "Chinese Cuisine" in Chinese characters, Sun Yang knew he had arrived. It was not a large storefront, about 100 square meters, but it was a two-story building. Including the upstairs part, it was nearly 200 square meters. In a place like Korea, where land was expensive, this was indeed a significant inheritance.
As soon as Sun Yang and Li Xiangguo got out of the car, a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties came out of the restaurant, which had a "closed" sign. He started talking to Li Xiangguo in Korean, but Sun Yang did not understand a word.
Li Xiangguo also nodded and spoke in Korean, but Sun Yang could tell from their eyes that they were talking about him. Li Xiangguo was introducing him. When the middle-aged man looked at him, Sun Yang felt a bit at a loss, as he did not know Korean.
"You must be Ah Yang, right? Not bad, a handsome young man. Your photo looks the same. Old Sun showed us your photo, and you haven't changed much. Now that you're here, it's good. Old Sun's legacy can finally be inherited. I'm He Qiang, your uncle's good friend. We came to Korea together. You can call me Uncle He."
Fortunately, the man spoke in Chinese, and Sun Yang could understand him and knew his background. He did not expect that the man was his uncle's good friend and indeed his senior.
"Uncle He, how did my uncle meet his accident?"
Sun Yang asked, as his relatives had been having accidents one after another, making him start to doubt himself, wondering if he was a curse.
"It's complicated. Come, let's go inside and talk."
He Qiang led Sun Yang and Li Xiangguo into the restaurant. Sun Yang knew that it was not the right place to talk outside.
Inside the restaurant, Sun Yang could see the layout clearly. On the first floor, there were some round tables, the operating area. Near the wall was a counter for payment. Next to the counter was a door without a curtain, where Sun Yang could see pots and pans, which must be the kitchen. On the other side of the room was a staircase with decorations, leading to the second floor, which was also an operating area.
The restaurant was very clean, unlike some small restaurants in China that were covered in grease. This was perhaps something China could learn from Korea and Japan. Sun Yang made a mental note of it.
He Qiang led Sun Yang and Li Xiangguo to the second floor, which, as Sun Yang had guessed, was also an operating area. However, it was divided into several small private rooms. Since the space was not large, there were only five rooms.
Sun Yang and the others entered a private room near the street. He Qiang brought hot water and tea sets and made tea for Sun Yang and Li Xiangguo.
