Chapter 37

Nan Liangxi slept in the upstairs bedroom, while Lin Yifan slept in the downstairs living room. The two spent the night without any incidents.
Lying on the sofa, Lin Yifan opened his eyes and sat up, groggily looking at the clock on the wall.
As an extra, Lin Yifan usually got up earlier than the rooster and went to bed later than the "rooster."
Without a fixed role, he could survive a few episodes if he got lucky and played a supporting role. If his luck was average, he would play a Japanese soldier and get shot down as soon as he appeared on screen. If his luck was bad, he wouldn't even get a chance to show his face before getting blown up.
To get a head start and queue up for roles, Lin Yifan developed the habit of waking up early.
He walked into the bathroom and, without hesitation, picked up Nan Liangxi's toiletries. After brushing his teeth, he started washing his face. Upstairs, Nan Liangxi, still groggy, wobbled down the stairs and entered the bathroom.
"Good morning." Nan Liangxi, with dark circles under her eyes, picked up a toothbrush and started brushing her teeth, looking lifeless in the mirror. She was still wearing her ultra-short shorts and crop top, but this time she had put on her underwear.
The two of them went about their own business, as if they had already gotten used to each other's presence.
By the time Nan Liangxi came out of the bathroom, Lin Yifan had already prepared a bowl of noodles and was enjoying it.
Nan Liangxi, looking lifeless, plopped down on the table, not caring about the squished shape of her chest. She reached out and snatched the bowl of noodles from Lin Yifan, eating it herself.
Staring dumbfounded at the listless Nan Liangxi, Lin Yifan couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong? To prevent you from coming upstairs at midnight, I stayed up from twelve to five."
Nan Liangxi ate the noodles pitifully. Because of the threat, "If you dare to go upstairs, I'll break your legs," she stayed up all night. This single-mindedness... it was a perfect match for the naturally ditzy Kyokawa Shizuka.
However, things weren't exactly as Lin Yifan had imagined. The main reason was that a man and a woman were alone in the same house, and with Lin Yifan's previous behavior, Nan Liangxi thought he might not be able to resist coming upstairs at midnight. With a mix of shame and anticipation, Nan Liangxi spent the night lost in thought.
Especially after pushing her friend's boyfriend, the guilt and the shame of a sneaky cat made the usually calm Nan Liangxi start to lose her composure.
In the end, Kyokawa Shizuka had kept him busy from midnight until the early morning, and then he went to confess to Tokishima Sae in the morning, even encountering a shootout. With all the chaos, Lin Yifan had basically passed out on the soft sofa.
But Nan Liangxi still thought Lin Yifan would have the energy to launch a night attack. So, with a mix of unease and anticipation, she thought about how to sternly drive him away and whether to spend some time with him. This conflict turned into the dark circles under her eyes.
After having his noodles stolen by Nan Liangxi, Lin Yifan had to make another bowl. He said slowly, "Would I be the kind of person to launch a night attack? Besides, you're already thirty. I still have to go to school to flirt and chase after beautiful schoolgirls, not someone like you who's already in society."
Nan Liangxi, who had been looking lazy, suddenly slammed her hand on the table, "Then I have to manage you even more, brat! You already have Shizuka, and you still want to chase after schoolgirls? Oh, I get it, you like that Tokishima family's daughter, don't you? You'd better know your place. A kendo prodigy isn't someone a commoner like you can date."
"I'm not Japanese, so I don't have that deep-seated class consciousness. If I like someone, I'll go after them. What's the point of hiding it, it's no different from impotence."
Hearing this, Nan Liangxi suddenly nodded in agreement, "Finally, you said something human. Back when I first joined the military, I fell for an instructor, but I didn't have the courage to confess for years, and by the time I did, he was already married."
"Hehe, so you're still a virgin," Lin Yifan teased with a sly smile.
Nan Liangxi, who had been reminiscing with her chin in her hand, instantly turned dark and grabbed a fork, throwing it at Lin Yifan. The plastic fork pierced through the paper bowl, but fortunately, Lin Yifan dodged it in time, or he would have been splashed with noodle soup.
Nan Liangxi put her legs heavily on the table, leaned back in her chair, and puffed on a cigarette, "What's so funny? Shizuka and I went to an all-girls school. Until we graduated from high school, she went to medical school, and I went to the police academy. I've never really been around men. Even now, I treat my partner like a brother, with no dirty thoughts."
"Such a pure... dry wood!"
After eating and drinking his fill, Lin Yifan hurried to the door. As he said this, Nan Liangxi immediately threw a kitchen knife at him.
Lin Yifan closed the door and quickly ran out of Nan Liangxi's house.
Heaving a sigh of relief, he thought it was better to go to school early to avoid being chopped up by this tough woman.
At that moment, Nan Liangxi went to the balcony on the second floor, leaned over the railing, and shouted to Lin Yifan, "Do you need me to take you to school?"
Lin Yifan didn't even turn his head and walked away, "No, I don't."
"I'll pick you up at the school gate after classes are over!" Nan Liangxi shouted, but Lin Yifan had already disappeared around the corner.
Leaning against the corner, Lin Yifan made a call, asking the system to bring his carbon fiber bike.
Riding the carbon fiber bike, he sped down the road. Due to the recent gun incidents, there were clearly more police on the streets, and occasionally, he could see armed police or armored vehicles and Self-Defense Force members parked by the roadside.
This made Lin Yifan, who was driving without a license, have to avoid the police on duty. He stopped the bike far from the school and continued on foot.
The closer he got to the school, the tighter the security.
He casually parked the carbon fiber bike by the roadside. As soon as he stepped onto the street, he immediately attracted the attention of many students.
This newly transferred exchange student had already become a sensation at Fujimi Academy. He had challenged the kendo club and confessed to the captain, Tokishima Sae, within a few days of starting school.
While the confession was shocking, more people remembered Lin Yifan's name because of the gun incident, which they had heard about over the school's intercom.
Getting involved with a group of terrorists was simply explosive.
Ordinary students kept their distance from Lin Yifan, afraid of being implicated. Yesterday, someone had died, and the freshmen building was now closed, giving the freshmen a few days off. The blood-stained walls needed to be repainted.
Ordinary students didn't dare walk with Lin Yifan, but at the school gate, a few students were walking back and forth. One of them was particularly noticeable, with yellow hair, making people instinctively look at him a few more times.
Lin Yifan glanced at the yellow-haired student, who seemed to be an extra villain from *High School of the Dead*?
Seeing the yellow-haired student, Lin Yifan suddenly felt a bit sentimental. He should give an award to all the yellow-haired students—Best Tragic and Dedicated Villain Extra Award.
When the group at the school gate saw Lin Yifan, they immediately sneered and walked over to him.
The school guards at the gate seemed to pretend not to see, their eyes fixed on the school grounds.
"Hey, isn't that the exchange student?" The yellow-haired student grinned, still looking like a villain.
Truly a born villain, even in an infinite world, he was still a villain. Why did he like to provoke people so much?
But looking at their expressions, Lin Yifan had a pretty good idea why. No one would cause trouble for no reason.
"What's wrong, not saying anything? You scum, do you know how many people died because of the terrorists you attracted? Huh! I'm asking you a question!"
The yellow-haired student's face twisted, and he shouted at Lin Yifan in a thug-like tone.
"What does it have to do with me? It sounds like I can bring terrorists into Japan. Don't you think you should ask the customs and local police about that?"
Seeing the group approaching menacingly, Lin Yifan still had that laid-back attitude.
The surrounding students started to gather, watching the drama unfold. More students naturally supported the yellow-haired group, hoping they would beat up Lin Yifan and teach him a lesson for being so arrogant.
Today's incident was triggered by the "terrorists," but Lin Yifan felt that even if he had been a regular student, he would eventually encounter such a situation.
Because he had once met a Chinese exchange student who studied at a private middle school in Japan. According to him, the students basically formed their own circles: Chinese with Chinese, Japanese with Japanese, and Koreans with Koreans. It was like a campus version of the Three Kingdoms, with frequent fights.
