The ancient elf put on a pitiful look, squeezed next to Ferren, and clutched his stomach, saying, "Sir Ferren, can you give me a couple of acupuncture needles first?"
Ferren neither said yes nor no. He just finished the iced milk tea that had just been served and pushed the remaining cup to the ancient elf, teasingly saying, "Alright, this is yours. Either drink it all or tell me about the car race now!"
The ancient elf pouted but didn't dare to openly resist Ferren's dominance. "I'll tell you... This night race is on the coastal road in the southern part of the island. The rules are similar to F1. There's a preliminary race on Friday, a qualifying race on Saturday, and the main race on Sunday. I heard that some very skilled underground racers from Southeast Asia and even Europe will come to participate. The prize money seems to be quite high."
"Even European racers are coming to participate?" Ferren frowned slightly. "It seems you've found out a lot in the past two days!"
"It's all because of you, that guy is a pervert, almost deflowered me," the ancient elf said with a look of disgust.
Ferren pretended to be furious and slammed the table. "Which guy is so bold? I haven't even handled my informant myself, and he dares to touch her?"
The ancient elf blushed and spat, "You bastard! Hurry up and give me the acupuncture!"
Ferren scowled and said, "Why are you in such a hurry? Tell me who is so shameless first."
"Ah, it's just one of Seven Sir's lackeys, who has been rising quickly recently!" the ancient elf said coyly. "That guy is as thin as a bamboo pole, but he likes to grope women. If it weren't for my stomach, I would avoid such a pervert!"
"OK, since you were willing to risk your life to gather information..." Ferren casually threw out a dozen thousand-dollar bills. "This money is all yours."
The ancient elf wanted the money, but she glanced around and pushed the money back. "I don't want the money, please help me with the acupuncture! I really can't bear it anymore!"
Ferren waved his hand. "No problem with the acupuncture!" He flipped his hand, and a large pin appeared between his fingers. In a blink, he inserted it into the ancient elf's acupuncture point.
The ancient elf's stomach gurgled, and the urge to defecate and urinate instantly subsided. She felt much more relaxed. But Ferren wasn't going to let her off so easily. He smiled lightly. "This acupuncture will last for a month." He pointed to the Hong Kong dollars on the table. "This money is still yours."
"You're despicable!" The ancient elf realized she was completely under Ferren's control. "I, I..."
"What do you mean, 'I'?" Ferren sneered. "My skills may not be divine, but with current medical technology, no one can figure out what's going on. So you'd better do as I say... Besides, you've seen that I drive a Ferrari, so I'm not short of money and won't treat you badly!"
"Hmph!" The ancient elf grabbed the money on the table and wanted to leave.
Ferren said, "Hold on, accompany me to watch the car race tonight!"
"Don't joke around. If people find out you're a cop, I'm dead!" the ancient elf said.
Ferren calmly replied, "If you don't accompany me, you'll be dead from diarrhea in a month."
The ancient elf had no choice but to leave her phone number with Ferren and then left reluctantly.
Ferren immediately reported the illegal car race to Chief Zhang and Inspector Wen. They convened a small meeting with the heads of the traffic department and decided to let Ferren check out the preliminary race tonight and then make further arrangements.
For the whole day, Ferren patrolled with Mo Wanning, and their cooperation was much better than in the past few days.
After work, Ferren declined the traffic department colleagues' invitation to a Happy Hour and contacted the ancient elf. He picked her up at the agreed location and drove to the West Ring in his Ferrari.
They found a high-end restaurant, had dinner, and sipped wine until it was completely dark. Ferren paid the bill and said to the ancient elf, who was still enjoying herself, "Let's go, help me find the way!"
The ancient elf used a piece of toast to clean the last bit of sauce from the plate and sighed, "Wow, so refreshing! The steak here is really delicious!"
Ferren smirked, "It's just okay. If you work with me, you'll have such steak every day." The ancient elf didn't respond, half-believing and half-doubting.
Following the ancient elf's directions, Ferren drove the Ferrari to a place at the end of the West Ring where illegal sports cars gathered.
"Didn't you say the race would be in the southern part of the island? This is Chengxi Road!" Ferren asked the ancient elf while looking at the highly modified illegal cars on the street.
"Old Fer, you don't understand. Chengxi Road is wider, perfect for starting the race!" the ancient elf, using her new nickname for Ferren, explained. "During the race, the cars will pass through the mountain road of Queen's Road West, then enter Pok Fu Lam Road, and continue along the southern part of the island!"
Ferren was somewhat surprised by the audacity of these underground racers. The "mountain road" is a one-way street, and the illegal racers would be driving in the wrong direction from Chengxi Road. If there were no oncoming cars, it would be fine, but if there were, it would be a disaster. The traffic department executives would be in a bind.
Ferren parked the car in a random spot, and immediately, various people in bizarre costumes came up to greet the ancient elf.
"Hey, Black Girl, did you hook up with another sugar daddy?" A girl with heavy makeup, exposed clothing, and at least five nose rings immediately exposed the ancient elf's past.
Ferren was no ordinary person, and the ancient elf knew this well. Her face changed slightly, but fortunately, her dark skin hid it. "Bitch, what are you talking about? This is my god-brother, Old Fer!"
"God-brother? I think it's more like a god-sister!" the nose-ringed girl sneered and walked away.
Once no one was paying attention, Ferren and the ancient elf got out of the car and observed the surroundings.
By now, many cars were parked in the middle of the road. The leading car was a dazzling silver GTR, and the driver, a short and thin Asian man, had a rather ugly face. Even without expression, his face looked somewhat sinister, and his gaze was filled with contempt.
Seeing Ferren's attention on the short man, the ancient elf immediately whispered, "That guy is Ichida, a Japanese. I heard he has participated in professional races and is quite famous in the underground racing world."
"Is that so?" Ferren smiled playfully, not taking her words seriously.
The ancient elf then introduced Ferren to other underground racers she had heard of or knew, including those from Southeast Asia and the local area. As for the few foreign racers, she didn't know any of them.
At that moment, a sarcastic voice suddenly rang in Ferren's and the ancient elf's ears. "Black Girl, you got me drunk last night and ran away. That's not cool! And who the hell is this pretty boy?"
Before the man could finish speaking, Ferren, without even turning his head, kicked him in the temple, and the man fell to the ground like a tree felled by an ax.
The people around them were stunned for a moment, then the scene erupted in chaos.
"Wow, the bamboo stick was taken down by a pretty boy!"
"Does this pretty boy want to die for touching Seven Sir's man?"
"Damn, let's go and beat that guy up!"
As the crowd murmured, many people with hostile looks approached Ferren.
The ancient elf hid behind Ferren and whispered, "Old Fer, what should we do?"
Ferren was unfazed. He glanced at the unconscious bamboo stick and was surprised to recognize him as one of the three thugs who had assaulted Madame Ling last week. This was truly a meeting of enemies!
Before the crowd could close in, Ferren, without a word, stomped on the bamboo stick's ankle, then lifted his leg and stomped again, repeating this seven or eight times until the ankle was shattered.
The bamboo stick, in excruciating pain, alternated between consciousness and unconsciousness, sweating profusely and screaming in agony. The shrill cries made everyone who wanted to attack Ferren hesitate.
This guy is a madman!
After stomping, Ferren squatted down, patted the bamboo stick's shoulder, and taunted, "Do you recognize me? How are your two brothers' legs? I can help them loosen up if you have time!"
Seeing Ferren, the bamboo stick almost wet his pants, almost forgetting the pain in his ankle. After the incident with the purple-haired and white-haired men, they went to the hospital, and the doctors concluded that they had comminuted fractures of the knee and necrosis of the surrounding tissues. The best treatment was amputation. The two were currently deciding whether to amputate, but regardless, they would need crutches for the rest of their lives. This was exactly what Ferren wanted.
As the ancients say, the hardest thing in life is to die, but that's not true. In Ferren's view, living a life worse than a dog is the hardest. This inner brutality was formed through long-term killing in the cycle space.
Before entering the cycle space, Ferren was a good young man who had never even killed a chicken and had a high moral awareness. Unfortunately, the environment forced him, and he soon had blood on his hands. From the psychological fear and moral collapse of killing the first person, to the madness of killing the tenth person, to the personality distortion of killing the hundredth person, to the numbness of slaughtering a thousand people, and finally to the indifference and calmness that followed.
This calmness is not the same as the calmness of slaughtering animals. After all, Ferren was killing many humans, not pigs. A butcher who slaughters pigs often becomes skilled and calm, but this is like "seeing a mountain as a mountain." If suddenly asked to kill a person, he might not be able to do it. But Ferren's mindset had reached the level of "seeing a mountain as a mountain," harboring countless evil factors but appearing calm on the surface.
The bamboo stick's approach was like walking into a trap. Ferren was thinking about how to establish his authority in this illegal racing scene, and he walked right into it. Wasn't he asking for trouble?
