Chapter 4

Wu Yixuan slowly regained consciousness. He shook his slightly dizzy head and managed to sit up.

"I remember I was fine at home, but then my computer suddenly underwent a strange change. I was seemingly swallowed by a blue vortex and then passed out," Wu Yixuan began to recall his previous experience.

"Could it be..." Wu Yixuan seemed to have an idea and stood up, starting to observe the surroundings.

This was a vast, endless wasteland, with gray-brown soil that was soft and fertile, as if it had been nourished by endless blood. Wu Yixuan grabbed a handful of soil and examined it closely, even faintly detecting a scent of blood.

It was daytime, but the sky was overcast with dark clouds, and it was drizzling. The light was dim, and the distant scenery was blurry and hard to discern. The low-hanging black clouds created a sense of oppression, and the blood-soaked land made Wu Yixuan feel as if he had arrived in an ancient wasteland.

"Could it be that I've followed the trend of otaku and traveled to another world? This place doesn't look like Earth at all," Wu Yixuan thought. Seeing the strange blue vortex on the computer, he knew he might have encountered something extraordinary. Given the current scene, as an otaku who often fantasizes about various adventures, he easily connected the dots and thought he might have traveled.

Thinking about the possibility of traveling, Wu Yixuan quickly checked his body and the items he carried. He confirmed that he wasn't a soul-traveler, meaning he hadn't possessed another body to live the rest of his life. He also found that he hadn't lost any limbs, hadn't grown wings or other organs, hadn't gained any special abilities, and hadn't acquired any precious treasures. In short, he was still the same as before.

"This can't be, it's not scientific. Where's the golden finger? Without a golden finger, how am I supposed to survive in another world? Which great deity made me travel here? This is just a trap," Wu Yixuan muttered to himself.

Wu Yixuan patted the mud off his body, chose a direction based on his intuition, and started to explore. He didn't have any food or water, so it was practical to find a safe place to spend the night while there was still some visibility during the day. He didn't know what dangers the night might bring to the wasteland.

To conserve his strength for any emergencies, Wu Yixuan walked steadily and cautiously. Along the way, he saw nothing but dark green weeds and small, fierce-looking insects. He didn't see any other creatures.

The wasteland was eerily quiet. The howling wind carried raindrops that hit Wu Yixuan's face, making him squint.

In the distance, Wu Yixuan saw a small figure walking upright, which seemed to be a humanoid creature, wandering around.

Wu Yixuan cautiously approached the figure, aware that even though it was humanoid, it could still be dangerous. As he got closer, he estimated that the figure was only a little over one meter tall, like a dwarf, which made him feel a bit more at ease, as his size gave him some confidence.

"Rakaniqu!"

As Wu Yixuan observed the figure, it also noticed his approach. It excitedly uttered a string of incomprehensible words and charged toward Wu Yixuan.

Wu Yixuan took a few steps back, ready to assess the situation.

It was an ugly humanoid monster with two sharp fangs, dark red skin covered in black stripes, and although it was short, its muscular arms and the thick wooden club it held proved its combat capabilities.

"This is a Fallen from Diablo!" Wu Yixuan immediately recognized it as the low-level monster from the classic single-player game, Diablo II.

Diablo and Warcraft, both developed by Blizzard, are legendary classics.

In the game, the Fallen is one of the weakest monsters, easily defeated by a level one character, with a combat power of only 5. They are known for their cowardice and tendency to run away in battle. They enjoy singing and eating hotpot, but you wouldn't want to be their hotpot ingredient.

Wu Yixuan noticed that in his field of vision, the monster had a string of characters above its head, and there were deep red circles over its heart, throat, and brain, indicating its vital points. He realized that hitting these circles would deal significant extra damage.

Wu Yixuan, who had killed many Fallens in the game, felt a sense of shock upon encountering a real one in reality.

"Did I really travel to a world like Diablo?" Wu Yixuan had many questions. Although he often fantasized about traveling to a wondrous and exotic world, where he could have adventures and conquer, the reality of it was hard to accept.

The Fallen, upon seeing Wu Yixuan, grinned savagely, its eyes filled with an endless desire for fresh flesh. It swung its wooden club and charged at Wu Yixuan.

On Earth, although Wu Yixuan had trained in swordsmanship with his talented sister, it was more of a form of exercise. Now, unarmed and facing a bloodthirsty Fallen, he felt at a loss.

The Fallen's wooden club swept toward Wu Yixuan's waist. Wu Yixuan slightly lowered his center of gravity and instinctively used his arm to block the attack.

As the club hit his arm, Wu Yixuan involuntarily groaned in pain, feeling as if his bones were about to crack. The sharp spikes on the club left several wounds on his arm, and blood dripped onto the dark red soil, quickly disappearing as the land greedily absorbed the nourishment.

"I didn't expect this Fallen to be so short but so strong," Wu Yixuan's painful experience confirmed that the Fallen's strength was comparable to that of a normal adult male, and with the spiked club, his situation was dangerous.

The Fallen, without considering Wu Yixuan's thoughts, raised its club and struck again, which Wu Yixuan narrowly avoided.

The red-skinned, short demon flexed its muscles and swung the club with great force, making it difficult for Wu Yixuan to dodge.

After dodging several times, Wu Yixuan, who had expended a lot of energy, was slightly delayed and was grazed by the club on his back, causing the flesh to tear.

"If I keep dodging, I'll die," Wu Yixuan finally realized that dodging alone wouldn't save him.

The pain from his injured back and the continuous bleeding from his arm finally stirred the hidden ferocity and savagery within him.

Wu Yixuan roared and grabbed the club with his bloodied hand.

The pain from his palm only made him angrier, and he gripped the club even tighter, then punched the Fallen's face with his right fist.

"Crack!"

The force of Wu Yixuan's punch caused a crisp bone-breaking sound, sending the Fallen flying.

The Fallen, struggling to get up from the ground, looked at the approaching human with fear. Wu Yixuan's fierce and angry expression and the devastating punch he had just delivered made the Fallen panic. It had no sense of honor or dignity and fled, shouting "Rakaniqu" as it ran.

Wu Yixuan wouldn't let the Fallen escape so easily. The two hits it had dealt him were still fresh in his mind, and the wounds were still painful. He wanted to tear the Fallen apart.

Wu Yixuan casually threw the club he had taken, and with his immense strength, it whistled through the air and struck the Fallen's back, causing it to spew blood and fly away.

Wu Yixuan quickly followed, stepping on the Fallen's chest, making it let out a惨烈的嚎叫,声音远远传开。
