It was Zhou Shiyun and two nurses who came in for a routine inspection.
Zhou Shiyun walked to the bed and looked down at the person on the bed, the tone used the same as the one on an ordinary patient, “Are you dizzy?”
Su Jinbei only glanced at the doctor with a mask on, and didn’t think of anything else, “A little.”
“Nauseous?”
“No.”
“Do you remember how you got to the hospital?”
Su Jinbei blinked, “Car accident.”
Pausing for three seconds, Su Jinbei seemed to react suddenly, and reached out to He Di, “Oh! Car accident! Xu Jiawei! Is he okay?”
He Di gave her a glance. “You think about him even at times like these. He hurt his leg and stayed in the hospital for a few days.”
Su Jinbei breathed a sigh of relief, “Phew, I thought I caused serious trouble for my Weiwei.”
He Di rolled her eyes when she heard the words “my Weiwei”. The two little nurses next to them froze for a moment, squeezing their lips and holding back their laughter. Zhou Shiyun glanced at her again. But the face behind his mask was still expressionless, and he handed the file he had to the nurse next to him, “Give this to Dr. Lin later.”
“Ok.”
“Eh, wait.” Just as Zhou Shiyun was going out, Su Jinbei’s hand that was holding He Di’s grabbed Zhou Shiyun’s coat.
Once she saw that he had stopped, she said in an aggrieved tone, “Doctor, my face hurts a little.”
Zhou Shiyun glanced down at the hand she was pulling on his coat, long and fair, and her fingernails were painted bright red. He calmly lifted her hand away and very professionally explained, “Just a scratch from the glass.”
“A scratch?” Su Jinbei was shocked. “Is it serious? When will it recover, will it leave scars?”
Zhou Shiyun frowned slightly. Both feet were in casts yet he didn’t hear her asking if she would become disabled, or whether the concussion was serious. But a scratch on her face made her nervous as if it was the end of the world.
“Pay attention to your diet, it’ll recover if you take your medicine regularly.”
“That means it won’t scar, right,” Su Jinbei said eagerly, “Doctor, I make a living with my face, and I haven’t married anybody yet, you must not let me leave a scar, I beg you.”
Zhou Shiyun paused slightly when he heard the words “I haven’t married anybody”, and finally spat out an “Oh.”
Zhou Shiyun went out.
Su Jinbei raised an eyebrow and casually said, “Are all doctors in the hospital these days so serious and indifferent? I consider myself pretty popular, but he doesn’t seem to want to check up on me at all.”
The little nurse on the side laughed, “Don’t you say that, Miss Su, there are a bunch of doctors out there who want to see you. It ’s just that this was the doctor who performed the surgery last night, so he’s in charge. In addition, our Dr. Zhou is usually like; he doesn’t talk much, but his surgical skills are the best in our hospital.”
“Really.” Su Jinbei pouted, “I guess it’s enough that he’s professional.”
The little nurse finished her job and went out.
Su Jinbei’s head was a little dizzy and needed more rest, but she was quite worried about what happened after the car accident, “He Di, what did the outside world say about the car accident?”
“I have been blocking the news, but I can’t hide it for much longer. Don’t worry, though, take a good rest for a few days.”
“That Xu Jiawei is really fine, right? How about you let me give him a call.”
“Oh, my god, he is in much better condition than you are. He’ll be able to come visit you by tomorrow at this point.” He Di stared at her. “I asked Xu Jiawei this morning about what happened yesterday. I was just wondering, why do you meddle so much in others’ affairs? You even raced with the paparazzi, did you want to die?”
Su Jinbei was too lazy to listen to her, “Ouch, I have a headache, stop talking, I want to rest.”
“You! Fine, go rest.” He Di was helpless. “I’ll go back to the hotel and pack some daily necessities for you. Go sleep.”
“Yeah, thanks.”
Su Jinbei lay awake in the ward the next day.
At noon the next day, Zhou Shiyun came over as usual for post-operation check up.
“Doctor Zhou, right.” Su Jinbei looked at his beautiful eyes and said with interest, “I heard that you’re quite skilled, then, I should be able to recover soon. When can I be discharged?”
Zhou Shiyun wrote something on the file, his eyes did not lift, his tone was plain, “Doctors aren’t celestial beings, we can’t make you recover faster.”
“Oh, then what about an approximate time?”
“Around two months.”
“Two months!” Su Jinbei looked at He Di, who was cutting an apple on the side, in a daze, “What about the program, I won’t be able to film.”
He Di, “I have already told the show’s director, there is nothing we can do now. What I care more about is how you’re going to tell your family how you are doing now. Jinbei, I say we let them know.”
“Don’t you dare!” Su Jinbei hurried to stop her, “If my mother knew that I was in a car accident, she’ll not only cry to the heavens, she’ll also come over and idle around. I bet she’s going to find an excuse to take me back, heh, maybe even marry me off?”
Su Jinbei coughed, thinking that there was a doctor and nurse in the ward and stopped. She just said, “Anyway, don’t notify my family.”
He Di grinned, she was specially assigned to be Su Jinbei’s manager, and she was not managing any other artists except her. He Di not only kept watch over her at work, she also had to take care of her personal life. Otherwise, how could the Su family let her go. Now that this ambiguous situation happened, she didn’t know whether to speak up or not.
And Zhou Shiyun paused slightly after hearing what she said. The look in Su Jinbei had some inexplicable meaning. There was a rare space in his mind to think about things other than medicine.
En, it seems that she is very opposed to this marriage.
