Reading that row of words, Sirius lamented: Surely, this was something that little liar would say. Even while reneging, he still sounded so righteous and with conviction.

[I will bring the present and wait for your on-a-whim arrival.]

After waiting for a while, the other didn’t send any more messages back. Sirius switched back to the chat screen with Nalun. He discovered that this extremely prideful colleague of his was expectedly very angry. Seeing this multifaceted criticism, Sirius can practically imagine the other’s cold sneering face.

The two people’s relationship, which finally pacified slightly after much difficulties, suffered challenges repeatedly. Meanwhile, this time it was Nalun who had voluntarily invited him in an expression of goodwill. For him to do something like this, really did seem somewhat inappropriate.

Thinking about it for a moment, Sirius called over directly.

“What is it?” Nalun’s voice sounded very calm and collected.

Sirius explained his reason for breaking his promise to meet. The reason was that he needed to see an important individual tomorrow.

Nalun scoffed.

Was someone of the Charvey family unable to shoulder the title of ‘an important individual’?

Don’t think he didn’t know: The person you are seeing is only an insignificant nobody.

Sirius understood the front half of the meaning behind the scoff.

“We can meet again anoth……”

“No need.” Nalun interrupted his words. He even calmly expressed that he wouldn’t force Sirius to do anything he didn’t want; meeting up was something that should be mutually consensual. Then, he stressed that he had overestimated their relationship when he suggested this abrupt request.

Sirius: “……”

“It’s very late, Admiral.” Nalun paused for a moment: “There’s no need to say good night. This is fine.”

The sound of the dial tone sounded, signaling that the call had ended.

Not unexpected. This was the usual Charvey style of conduct. Striking criticism over the key point, resounding and powerful, without any mercy at all.

However today, Sirius didn’t want to continue butting heads with him.

Nalun was under the impression that such a powerful reprimand would make Sirius sink into guilt and remorse. But he never would have imagined that half a minute after he hung up the phone, the communication device started alerting repeatedly once again.

Are you serious?

At least wait a few more seconds to repent over breaking an agreement!

Not to mention, he definitely wouldn’t go…… it’s not like he liked facial hairs. Furthermore, he wouldn’t risk exposing himself to see a super annoying guy!

His wonderful festive mood was decimated completely. Nalun threw the communication device into the drawer, deciding to ignore it temporarily.

The second day, the Honored Prince woke up once again with two huge black circles under his eyes.

When eating breakfast, Ilia said earnestly and sincerely: “Little uncle, staying up all night is not good.”

Nalun swept her a glance: “Right. Tonight I’m confiscating your personal comp, so you won’t play until the wee hours of the night again.”

Ilia froze, innocent blue eyes brimming with tears. Her entire face was filled with despair, unable to accept the impromptu grievous news.

Nalun: “It’s almost time for finals. You should start curbing yourself. If you test last place again, no one will be able to save you once big brother comes back.”

Ilia wailed loudly and jumped into the arms of the Old Honored Prince Chervey, who just walked through the door.

“Grandpa! Grandpa! Little uncle is intimidating me!”

Nalun raised his head and saw his own fathers solemn and grave face. He immediately sat up properly: “……Fa, father, how come you’re here?”

The Honored Prince Charvey Sr. carried his granddaughter and sat next to Nalun, saying: “The Hunting Festival has arrived. Of course I returned to participate in the celebrations.”

Nalun nodded, expressing ‘that’s right’.

“You should also focus and concentrate. I hear the Emperor has handed the preparation work to you this time?”

Nalun said ‘Yes, that’s right’.

“Do a good job. Don’t make any slip-ups.”

Nalun continued to say ‘Yes father’.

“……”

The Honored Prince Sr. suddenly stood up. Nalun raised his head, grayish-green eyes flashing briefly.

“I came back to see you. Can’t you speak properly.”

Nalun blinked and said tentatively: “Father, to be able to see you, is truly a very delightful thing.”

The Honored Prince Sr. fell silent.

He put down his granddaughter, bent down, and gave his youngest son a huge hug.

“En!”

Drowning in paternal love, Nalun’s eyes dazed off into the distance while his insides trembling uncontrollably– oh fck, he was scared to death.

If time returned to a few decades ago, the Honored Prince Sr. ‘s power and prestige in the Empire would be no less than the current Sirius. The only difference between the two people was that the Honored Prince Sr. didn’t like to be worshiped like an idol nor did he like to show face in public. Therefore, he didn’t acquire too many fangirls and fanboys.

Everytime Nalun saw this iron-blooded, awe-inspiring father, he always felt timid inside.

Even though Nalun had already become an adult and his temper had grown quite a bit, in front of his formidable old dad, he was still obedient and well-behaved like a grade schooler.

“I brought you guys a gift from my trip.”

The Honored Prince Sr. pulled out an exquisite little box: “Ilia.”

The little lolita, who was called upon, delightfully accepted the present.

The Honored Prince Sr. then threw out a dagger, which fell with a ‘clank’ on the table in front of Nalun.

Nalun practically suspected that his old dad might say something the next second like: “Off yourself.” — However, this wasn’t the case.

“This is the weapon I had a friend forge for you.”

Nalun obediently picked up the dagger and said hesitatingly: “Father, the Imperial Capital has a weapons restriction…… Blades can’t be carried around.”

Some streets and large-scaled shopping districts had security systems. Unless a license microchip was installed into your personal comp, anyone carrying suspicious weapons would have to spend half a day dealing with the security system.

The Honored Prince Sr.: “Who told you to carry it around!”

Nalun immediately replied ‘Understood, father’.

The Honored Prince Sr. said in a huff: “This is an ornamental weapon for collection purposes.”

Nalun expressed he’d definitely put it in a good place and look at it for viewing pleasure every morning, noon, and night.

A present bestowed by his own father was extremely important. He needed to enshrine it with a pious attitude.

Before the Honored Prince Sr. arrived, he didn’t eat breakfast. Therefore, Nalun ordered the servant to make another portion.

During this time, Nalun was questioned if anything important happened recently. Nalun omitted the entanglement between himself and Sirius and gave a simple explanation about the matter regarding the Scepter.

The Honored Prince Sr. asked some other questions. Nalun braced himself and answered one by one.

“Do you have anyone you’re interested in?”

Nalun froze, expression somewhat vacant.

The Honored Prince Sr. coughed: “On my trip this time, I met a good friend from highschool. Her niece is a teacher at an important college in the Imperial Capital. She’s about your age, so……”

Nalun: “Your friend’s niece is like my sister. I will take good care of her.”

The Honored Prince Sr.: “…….”

Ilia laughed nonstop: “Grandpa, I want an aunt-in-law. An uncle-in-law is fine too!”

Nalun swept her a cool glance.

“Father, I’m very concerned over Ilia’s education issue.”

Ilia: “…..”

He first talked generally about Ilia’s behavior around

this time and then narrated in detail how she had taken the invitation card and snuck into the onsen clubhouse, successfully switching the topic of the conversation onto someone else.

The three generations of people, grandpa, uncle, and granddaughter, conducted an enthusiastic conversation that lasted a few hours.

Nalun lowered his eyes and secretly looked at the time. Unknowingly, it was almost 9 o’clock.

Sirius’s meeting was at 13:00.

No wait…… It’s not like he planned to go, so why pay attention to all this.

The Honored Prince Sr. narrowed his eyes: “Nalun?”

“What is it?” He sat up straight.

“Your mother passed away early. Jared never made me worry, but you…… Even the kid from the Monte family has a partner. You need to get on it as well.”

Nalun: “Sirius got drunk and lost control of himself. How can this count as having a partner?”

The Honored Prince Sr. could hear the dissatisfaction in his younger son’s tone and said: “But he already has a target. If you don’t like teachers, General YiSi also contacted me a few days ago. He has a daughter, you should know her, called Mona. When you have the free time, you can go meet up with her.”

Nalun sneered.

Not long ago, he saw the photo of Big Beard standing in front of the clubhouse from Sirius and learned that the picture came from a certain live stream platform. Afterwards, he went to search around and discovered that streamer just happened to be this Miss Mona.

He even saw his own back view in her photo album. It should have been taken during that gathering at LuoRi Volcano.

No wonder, he had thought something was spying on him that day. So it wasn’t a misconception.

The Honored Prince Sr. smacked the table: “Fix your expression!”

Nalun hastily put away his sneer and looked at the other expressionlessly.

“Hmph!” Facing such an obedient son, the Honored Prince Sr. only felt stuffy on the contrary.

After eating breakfast, the Honored Prince Sr. announced the end of his retirement life in the rural pastors and moved back to the Charvey estate.

His room has been cleaned regularly by servants. Therefore, not too much effort was needed for him to move in. Nalun stuffed his troublesome and annoying niece at his old father, and secretly snuck back into his own room.

Today was a public holiday. Normally, it should have been a wonderful time for rest and play. However, Nalun didn’t feel a bit of joy at all.

He was immersed in a difficult decision.

In his contemplation, the workaholic Marshall sent over a message. Nalun clicked it over and discovered that it was the final list of participants for the Hunting Festival. He suddenly recalled what Sirius told him last night and returned the message.

[Also add Sirius and me.]

Marshall replied with three huge question marks.

[Sirius already expressed clearly to me that he will participate in this year’s hunt. I will also participate.]

Marshall sent over a series of ……s

Nalun thought to himself, this kind of work attitude will make life difficult for yourself.

During lunch time, the Honored Prince Sr. planned to bring his granddaughter and youngest son to eat outside. Nalun declined, using the excuse of being busy with work.

Then he opened the window of his room and laid on the long bench, basking under the sun.

“Beep beep.” The communication device he held suddenly sounded.

Nalun jumped up in his seat. Discovering that he had reacted too aggressively, he cursed at himself internally and then clicked open the message at a more moderate pace.

A huge selfie.

Sirius was propped up with a hand on his forehead. A long, ridiculous beard hung askewed on his handsome face.

[Tried one, but can’t put it on correctly no matter what I try. Is there some kind of trick here?]

Nalun: “……”

Then Sirius sent over a picture of the inside of a room. Through the window, Langdon Street could be vaguely recognized in the background.

This picture looked a bit familiar…… but Nalun couldn’t remember at the moment.

Holding the communication device, Nalun maintained his head lowered position without moving at all.

The servant passing by the window almost thought something was wrong. Then, he saw his family’s temperamental Honored Prince sit up right and close the windows with a ‘bang’.

A while later, Nalun walked out of the room, having changed into a pure black suit– His black hair was soft and clean, the tail end slightly curly. His grayish-green eyes spun in a half circle, expression aloof and lofty. He emitted the aura of someone who was meticulously well-dressed.

The servant: “…….”

Like a male peacock displaying in full glory, Nalun even picked out a flashy sports car from the garage and left under the gaze of the servants.

Langdon Street #4843.

He discovered that this was actually the shop where he was sexually harassed last time.

Nalun furrowed his brows, almost recalling the unpleasant memories.

The waiter greeting him was a familiar face as well; the one that had called for the security guards.

“Hello sir. Do you have a booking?”

Nalun swept his gaze over the main hall and said directly: “Take me to the private booths.”

The coffee shop’s private booths were half enclosed. Through the cracks of the partition, one can see a fuzzy profile view of the people inside.

Nalun diverted some attention to survey the view outside of the two windows. Finally, he found an angle that corresponded to Sirius’s selfie and stopped walking.

“Sir, there’s already someone inside.”

Nalun nodded his head: “I only feel like he looks somewhat familiar.”

With a turn, he said: “Like a certain someone who broke his promise.”
