The top quality sports cars of the Elord family were very rare. Of course, the price was also a sky-high amount unimaginable for normal people…… However, in this kind of flourishing intergalactic era, every planet always had a few known for their wealth. Adding them together, this number wasn’t small.
Basically, a limited edition can swiftly become sold out not even a minute after its release.
–The number of competitors was too much.
Nalun had the money to buy the car, but he didn’t have the super speed. Everytime, he could only watch wide-eyed as the purchase number changed to zero…… heartache beyond reproach.
Sirius patted him on the shoulder.
“What are you thinking about?
Nalun said: “The sports car.”
Sirius: “…..”
Nalun returned from his thoughts: “Oh, what I mean is, the new car is really not bad.”
Activating the car, he reached out a finger to touch the control panel, the envy in his eyes practically about to take on physical form.
Nalun then asked: “What about little R?”
It took Sirius half a second to realize that this was his previous R ranked sports car.
Everytime a new model was created by the Elord family, his mother would always send it over to him immediately. Then he would send the unnecessary car back. To say it in a glorified manner, it was : recycling.
Nalun fell silent. After a while, he even struggled out of the hand that Sirius -specially privileged- Monte had placed on him.
Sirius pretended not to notice and somewhat regrettably withdrew his hand. He leaned against the passenger’s seat and said a destination name out loud.
After the sound was inputted, the system immediately found the correct location and verified if they’d like to start.
Nalun: “……”
Truly worthy of an Elord sports car. Precise, swift, and intelligent!
–He wants.
This increased the Honored Prince’s staunch determination to camp for a limited edition. The next season was imminent. He definitely couldn’t miss it again.
“Whoosh–”
The luxurious new car carried the two people and swiftly drove away from the Charvey Estate.
Neither of the two youths in the car noticed that in a corner not far away behind them, a lone, staunch figure had been standing there for a long time.
The Honored Prince Sr, who inhaled a lung full of the new energy exhaust fumes, gazed ahead in anguish……
His beloved young son…… had really become someone else’s.
Perhaps he should pick a day to pay a visit to the Monte family. During his youth, the stubborn and unyielding Honored Prince Angeli had some disputes with Monte Sr. over a few matters that, upon recalling now, have become ‘trivial’. To tell the truth, it’s been a long time since the two families have sat down to have a nice chat.
The previous Monte head lived a rather mediocre life. His only area of success was having such an outstanding son like Sirius.
— Divorcing during his middle age, like the Honored Prince Sr., he also spent most of his life as a bachelor.
Perhaps this topic could become the starting point. Afterall, sympathy was the first step to establishing communication.
Nalun didn’t actually know that his own father was already mulling over an icebreaker gathering with the Monte family.
He was brought to a completely unfamiliar place.
This was a very magnificent looking building. The outside was a half dome, which was covered by a silver metal surface. Under the sunlight, it reflected a dazzling brilliance. Right in the middle, the huge words “Hunting Season” dominated the entire billboard screen. Without even entering, a ground-shaking roar could be heard faintly inside.
Sirius guided Nalun through a small door and stepped inside the building.
Inside the building were rows of little rectangular-shaped lockers. The keyholes were designed into fingernail sized sensors. The Admiral opened his personal comp, pointed it at one of the little lockers, and smiled.
“See what it’ll be this year?”
Nalun: “???”
A soft “beep” sounded. One second later, the locker that the Admiral had picked opened.
Nalun curiously took out the item placed inside the locker and discovered that it was an extremely exaggeratedly designed clown mask. It had a bright red round nose and wide teeth-grinning mouth. The color palette used was extremely bold as well.
Sirius fell silent for a moment: “Looks like my luck’s not very good.”
Nalun raised the mask: “Yours?”
Sirius nodded. Taking the mask, he placed it on calmly: “Every Hunting Festival, this amusement park would hold an event. I participated a few times before. It’s very interesting.”
Nalun: “……”
Dragging him here bright and early, it was to play?
“It’s your turn.” Sirius urged, pointing at the little lockers: “First pay the admission fee here. The mask will be your pass. The designs for the masks inside are all different.”
Nalun became interested. Looking at the clown mask Sirius wore, he said coolly: “I shouldn’t be as unlucky to pick such a terrible design.”
Reality proved that, ever since the birthday banquet, it’s been a long time since Lady Luck has graced this misfortunate Honored Prince. This time…… was no different.
A huge dog head with a suspicious smile, giving off a possessed look regardless of the angle.
Nalun: “……”
The Honored Prince, who was in a relaxed mood just a second ago, started emitting a black fog at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Sirius took off his mask: “…… switch with me?”
He felt like Nalun was about to faint in anger.
The thoughtful Admiral seized the opportunity to stand next to Nalun. One hand hooking habitually over the Honored Prince’s shoulder, he handed over the clown mask, placing it next to the dog head for comparison.
“Which one do you like?”
Nalun turned his head, eyes deep. Right now, the issue he was conflicting over wasn’t actually which mask to pick. Instead–
Why was he being touched again?
The Honored Prince, who didn’t like physical contact, decided to say something.
Sirius: “Perhaps the clown would be better?”
“No need to switch.” Nalun shook his head and rejected Sirius’s good intentions: “After it’s worn, I won’t be able to see it. However, if you wore it, I would be forced to face it constantly.”
This kind of emoji… Every glance was a huge blow to one’s mind and spirit.
Sirius: “……”
Actually pretty reasonable.
He felt like they shouldn’t be wasting time on the admission masks and said decisively: “Okay. I’ll help you put it on.”
Nalun didn’t even have time to respond when he felt emptiness in his hand. Sirius had already taken away his mask and stepped behind him. He was just about to turn his head and decline when he heard soft words coming from behind him: “Don’t move randomly.”
Nalun: “……” No, he wanted to do it himself.
Stiff all over, the Honored Prince thought briefly and ended up enduring and staying motionless. After that, he felt the vision blur before his eyes as the mask gently covered over his face.
Sirius seemed to have chuckled, but immediately afterwards, he swiftly restrained himself.
Nalun narrowed his eyes–
He heard it.
The mask that he had selected was really quite terrible. However, was Sirius’s clown any better?
Seeing these two masks, clearly the issue wasn’t him. Instead, it was this improper amusement park!
After Sirius helped Nalun put on the mask, he didn’t decide to release the other immediately. He maintained the enveloping posture from behind and meticulously examined the fit of the mask.
Nalun: “……” What’s there to examine? This was clearly seizing the opportunity to take advantage of him again?
Nalun’s face was expressionless.
Calloused fingers appearing to carelessly brush past Nalun’s earlobe, Sirius lowered his head faintly to lean closer to Nalun’s ear. Steady breaths incidentally puffing between the curve of Nalun’s neck, Sirius used an utterly natural tone to narrate their following itinerary.
“…… there’s a fully virtual hunting game at 10 o’clock.”
This game didn’t limit the number of participants. It was a fight over the intergalactic net. The rules of this game were completely different from the Royal Hunt competition. It leaned more towards a competitive sport, allowing the players to control different characters within the competition. After defeating the opponent, the score will be counted. In the end, the person with the highest score would receive an ample prize money and a souvenir.
However, the purpose of Sirius’s trip this time wasn’t to sign up for this competition.
“The virtual world is very meticulously created. The previous competitions were also very entertaining to watch. I already booked a private room……” And prepared a completely smooth and comfortable process. He needed to make sure that a certain picky Honored Prince spent this holiday wonderfully.
“Naturally, if you’re interested in the prize……” Sirius secretly poked his fingers into the tailend curls of Nalun’s black hair: “We can register for a duo competition.”
With a stiff wooden face and bright red ears, Nalun coolly nodded his head.
“Oh, I got it.”
Sirius chuckled.
With the sound of the chuckle, Nalun keenly felt that his neck was also not spared from being caressed briefly.
The Honored Prince finally couldn’t hold back a darkened look– He was really taking an inch and going for the mile!
Was it because he failed to promptly discover the true face under Sirius’s pretentious outer appearance a few days ago, which allowed the other to succeed repeatedly to such an extent that his courage had grown?
Yet.
The tone of Sirius’s voice couldn’t sound any more serious.
If he were to suddenly raise accusations, and Sirius refused to admit to them, wouldn’t Nalun end up very awkward?
The conflicted Honored Prince didn’t need to continue his internal struggles. Sirius finally backed up a few steps. He still looked completely straight faced and trustworthy.
“It’s all good.”
Nalun sneered relentlessly, letting out a great scoff of disdain internally.
“Where’s that Mist Bug friend of yours?”
Sirius’s expression changed subtly: “Him?”
Nalun said: “Did you forget that previously, you even had me write a message?”
Sirius sighed, as if he didn’t want to discuss this anymore.
A furious light suddenly grew in the depths of Nalun’s grayish-blue eyes.
–Look. Sure enough, he was feeling guilty.
Sirius put on the clown mask and said: “He has a bias towards me.” As he talked, he led the Honored Prince into the stadium: “Recently, I’ve been thinking of a plan to remedy it.”
Nalun asked: “Remedy?”
Sirius: “En. Under what kind of situation would you change your view on someone you didn’t like?”
Nalun blinked: “Probably when he’s crying and begging under my feet?”
Sirius smiled but didn’t speak.
–With a dog head emoji mask, even while speaking the most despicable words, the Honored Prince had no lethal force at all.
Suppressing his train of thoughts, Sirius raised his hand and opened a door.
Behind the door was a corridor. Workers wearing the same uniform stood on the two sides of the corridor. After seeing the customers arrive, they gave a bow in unison.
Nalun curiously examined the surroundings.
This place was at the edge of the Imperial Capital. It was quite a distance away from the Charvey Estate. Not to mention, its geographical location wasn’t particularly conspicuous. Therefore, Nalun never came here before this.
