Lin Zixian sneered coldly and said, "It's not that easy. Haven't you noticed there have been no passing cars ahead? The other side must have set up roadblocks on the way. We can't get through, and your people won't be able to come to our aid anytime soon."

"What if the people behind us catch up?" Qiao Antian was getting anxious.

Ning Lan covered her mouth, trying hard not to cry. She had never imagined she would encounter such a scene. She had only seen it in action movies before, but now she was living it, and it terrified her.

"Don't worry, the people behind us won't catch up for now," Lin Zixian said, glancing at the bodyguard beside him who was gripping a pistol with a flushed face. "They're just a bit rigid. Once they loosen up, their professionalism is far superior to those rabble. Unless the other side has some heavy weapons, they won't be a problem for a dozen of them to hold off for half an hour... I doubt the other side has any heavy weapons, after all, they're not trying to kill you."

The bodyguard looked at him with a grateful expression. After all, every profession has its dignity, especially for bodyguards who can't afford to fail.

As if to confirm Lin Zixian's words, the bodyguard's walkie-talkie crackled to life, "Three, Three, how's your situation?" The sound of intense gunfire could be heard in the background.

"They must have stabilized the situation, otherwise they wouldn't have the time to check on us," Lin Zixian interjected. "Tell them we're fine, and to hold off the people behind us."

The bodyguard immediately repeated his message and asked, "How's your situation?"

The walkie-talkie responded with a sigh of relief, "Two team members are injured, but it's not serious. We can hold them off."

"Holding them off is enough. Based on the distance, the police should arrive in less than an hour. They'll have to retreat when that happens," Lin Zixian said with a smile, relieved. "Let's see what's happening on the other side first."

The car's speed rapidly increased, racing through the winding mountain road. Even at the turns, it barely slowed down, drifting around the corners with a screech.

The impressive driving skills were dazzling, but it made the people inside the car jump with fear. Ning Lan couldn't even cry anymore; she just felt dizzy and nauseous.

At the site of the previous explosion, the three cars parked in a triangular formation had all the surviving bandits inside them killed by the twelve bodyguards who had rushed out from the four cars behind.

The seven cars blocked the road completely. The twelve bodyguards quickly dragged out their weapons and took cover on both sides of the mountain, reacting swiftly, living up to the high price Qiao Antian had paid for them.

The narrow terrain, which the bandits had chosen to block the road, now became an excellent sniping position for the bodyguards. The dozen or so cars that had pursued them from behind couldn't break through. Those who tried to force their way out were immediately gunned down, scaring the others inside the cars from coming out.

Four men crouched in a minivan, whispering to each other. A tall, thin man clutched his bloodied cheek, where a bullet had grazed him, and cursed, "Damn it, my head almost got blown off. Where did these bodyguards come from? They're so fierce, they even disregarded their employer's safety and rammed through... Brother Scar, over a dozen of our brothers are dead. Their marksmanship is steady and accurate, making us dare not show our heads. It looks like we can't break through. Let's retreat! If we keep this up, the police will arrive."

"Shut up!" A man with a scar on his face, hiding behind a seat with a gun, kicked him and shouted, "We're working for the Young Master. You know the consequences of fleeing without orders. It will be a hundred times worse than falling into the hands of the police. If you want to die, don't drag us down with you."

The other two men also glared at the thin man, who immediately shut up.

The scar-faced man took out his phone and quickly dialed a number, laughing nervously, "Brother Li! We failed here. The hostage forced his way out, and we were stopped by the bodyguards, unable to continue the pursuit... Yes, yes, it's our fault... Yes, only one car got away."

A cold voice came from the other end of the line, "Keep holding off those bodyguards. Don't blame me if anyone tries to run. When the police arrive, run into the mountains on both sides. If any of your brothers are caught by the police, make sure they keep their mouths shut. If they talk, they'll know the consequences."

"Yes, yes, it's up to Brother Li. Brother Li, you take care of it..." The scar-faced man's flattery was cut short as the call was hung up.

On the other side, a man in a neatly pressed suit sat in a car, looking handsome but with a sinister glint in his eyes. After putting the phone in his pocket, he rolled down the window, and a thug with a gun leaned in. He spoke calmly, "We failed on the other side. Maybe we were too careless. It looks like we have some trouble. It might not go smoothly. It's up to us now. We don't have much time."

"Understood." The thug whistled, and a dozen men jumped out of the cars, taking cover on both sides of the road. The man in the suit remained in the car, unmoving.

Behind them, a large pile of yellow earth had been deliberately dumped from a truck, completely blocking the road.

At that moment, a bulldozer backed off a flatbed truck, drove to the pile of earth, and raised its large bucket, ready to clear the blocked passage.

Lin Zixian drove up, and as he turned the corner, he saw the dozen or so cars blocked by the pile of earth. He quickly slowed down and drove forward slowly. The bodyguard immediately warned, "Mr. Lin, be careful. Those cars might not be just blocked vehicles. They look suspicious."

"I think so too," Lin Zixian said with a smile. "Get ready! Don't be soft this time."

The bodyguard nodded solemnly, loaded his gun, and held it under the car window.

Lin Zixian looked back and said, "Mr. Qiao, from the looks of it, these people want to capture you alive, not kill you. Congratulations!"

Qiao Antian, caught between laughter and tears, said, "You still have the heart to joke around."

Ning Lan, who was covering her chest, looked pale and was about to vomit. It was her first time experiencing such a series of drifts, and her stomach was churning. Qiao Antian wasn't feeling much better, but his mental fortitude was much stronger, allowing him to overcome it.

As they approached, a dozen or so armed bandits rushed out from both sides, surrounding the car and shouting.

"Stop the car!"

"Get out of the car!"

"Open the door!"

"Raise your hands and surrender, or we'll shoot!"

They were clearly a disorganized group, shouting all sorts of things. Ning Lan, facing so many gun barrels for the first time, was trembling with fear.

The car stopped as instructed, and the window was rolled down halfway. Lin Zixian put on a surrendering face and extended one hand.

A bandit sneered and approached, intending to open the car door, but he saw a black object in Lin Zixian's palm. The two armed men who followed him widened their eyes, their pupils contracting, realizing it was a grenade.

"Damn..."

"Run..."

Lin Zixian threw the grenade into the air above the car, and it exploded with a loud "boom," sending flames and shrapnel flying.

He had calculated the timing perfectly, and the grenade exploded in mid-air, maximizing its range.

"Ahh..." A chorus of agonized screams filled the air as the dozen or so bandits surrounding the car were blown to the ground, the injured ones writhing in pain.

The car roof was hit by a barrage of shrapnel. Lin Zixian looked up and smiled, "Bulletproof cars are great."

The bandits who survived the explosion staggered to their feet and tried to escape, but Lin Zixian immediately drew his pistol and shot one in the head at close range. Ning Lan, witnessing such a bloody scene, immediately covered her head and let out a shrill scream.

The bodyguard also lowered the window, holding his gun and vigilantly watching for any threats. He shot any who tried to get up.

From the dozen or so cars on the other side, another group of men rushed out, firing their guns continuously, creating white spots on the front window. However, the bulletproof car's defense was impenetrable.

Lin Zixian pressed his pistol against his thigh, grabbed the automatic rifle between the driver and passenger seats, and quickly loaded and cocked it. He leaned out the window and fired a burst at the crowd and cars, mowing down several of them and forcing the others to scatter.

"Use this. If any cars follow, aim for the driver or the tires to save bullets," Lin Zixian said, handing the automatic rifle to the bodyguard. He quickly turned the car around, specifically to take out a group of people, and then sped away.

The bandits, enraged, immediately started their cars and pursued them.

The bodyguard opened the sunroof, holding his gun and sticking half his body out. However, Lin Zixian drove the heavy bulletproof car so fast on the winding road that the cars behind couldn't keep up. He barely had a chance to shoot, firing a few rounds before retreating and closing the sunroof.

"Take the smoke grenades out of my pocket and throw them at the next turn," Lin Zixian said with a smile.

The bodyguard immediately complied, taking out two smoke grenades from his pocket, quickly pulling the pins, and throwing them at the next two turns. Soon, the area was filled with smoke, and the sound of cars crashing into the mountain walls could be heard...

The bodyguard in the passenger seat looked at Lin Zixian with admiration, wondering about his background. As a professionally trained person, he knew that someone who could treat such a situation like a game, and kill as easily as slicing vegetables, must have a mind and composure that could only be forged through blood and fire.
