Chapter 50

Just finished a meeting, and I have to go on a business trip at noon today. I’m so dizzy.

Of course, it’s not a forced business trip, but it’s considered special overtime, with a thousand per day, so I can only apologize to all my readers.

I’ll be back on the 8th of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Please understand.

...

The Thunder God’s Spear, embedded in the giant mantis’s abdomen, suddenly exploded, enveloping the giant mantis in a massive and violent thunderstorm. Even if the giant mantis was more resilient than ordinary mantises, this blow would either kill it or leave it severely injured.

The Behemoth had been watching the giant mantis closely, so the moment it was hit by the Thunder God’s Spear and exploded, it jumped out of the blast range. The ordinary mantises near the giant mantis, however, were blinded by a spell and were directly blown several meters away by the explosion.

Seeing this, the Behemoth immediately rushed forward, stepping on the giant mantis’s only remaining intact blade arm and then kicking it in the abdomen.

“Boom!” The mantis, kicked into the air, hit a tree, causing it to tremble. It then slid down and lay on the ground. Even so, the Behemoth didn’t stop, grabbing the mantis’s wings at the base with one hand. With a forceful pull, there was a crackling sound, and both wings were torn and entangled together.

What is he doing? Liu Siyi was puzzled to see the Behemoth not directly killing the mantis, which was already powerless to resist, but instead carrying it. It wasn’t until the Behemoth threw it at the feet of the second Behemoth that he understood. The second Behemoth was to kill the mantis, so that when the battle ended, the evolutionary power would naturally heal the second Behemoth’s wounds.

Liu Siyi panted heavily, looking at the thunderous light ball. He was almost out of combat strength and could only cast a few auxiliary spells to assist the battle. With the Lightning Rune, the consumption of magic power was not much, but the mental energy consumption exceeded ninety percent. This was because his consumption was really high. Although sealing the mantis was easy and met little resistance, using a fourth-tier treasure was quite costly, almost equivalent to casting a fifth-level Thunder God’s Spear. As soon as the battle started, he immediately summoned the Thunder Elemental Lord, Lexus, which was another fifth-level summoning spell, but because it was instantaneous, the consumption was less than the Thunder God’s Spear. However, in the subsequent battle, he cast the Thunder God’s Spear three times, directly killing three mantises, and possibly the giant mantis as well.

Gradually, the electric current began to dissipate, and the pitiful figure of the giant mantis appeared in everyone’s sight.

It was indeed not dead, but even if it wasn’t, it no longer posed a threat. Its abdomen was hit by the Thunder God’s Spear and exploded, though not as severely as an ordinary mantis, which would have its entire abdomen blown open or even disappear. However, a large hole appeared on the upper part of its abdomen, with green blood gushing out uncontrollably. If that were all, it could still fight with the resilience of an insect, but coincidentally, the hole was just below its two hind legs. The hind legs were now just hanging by a thread, dangling uselessly. From the looks of it, not only were the hind legs useless, but the middle legs were also unusable, and the transparent wings were completely charred and useless.

“Blade Mantis, kill the giant mantis!” Liu Siyi immediately notified the Blade Mantis through the mental link. The Blade Mantis was the mantis he had just summoned from the unit summoning crystal, named Blade Mantis, which had just killed the fleeing mantis.

“Let me reduce your suffering.” Seeing the giant mantis lying on the ground, trembling, Liu Siyi felt that even a powerful creature like the giant mantis could have such a miserable moment. It was better to die quickly.

These words were sincere. At least, Lilia and Lina, upon hearing them, felt that one should treat enemies like their master, regardless of who the enemy was.

Actually, Liu Siyi wasn’t as noble as they thought. Gaining experience was the hard truth. If he could still move, he would have done it himself and wouldn’t have let the Blade Mantis do it.

That was a giant mantis, and its evolutionary power would be enormous. It would be a shame to share it with the Blade Mantis.

“Swish!” A clean and decisive strike. The giant mantis, still lying on the ground, trembling, and powerless to resist, was beheaded with one strike. Perhaps it was a mercy.

“Clang! Clang!...” The battle between Lexus and the last mantis continued. Originally, their strength was about equal, with Lexus having the upper hand in speed. The mantis was also injured, so it couldn’t even think of escaping. Now, with the Blade Mantis’s surprise attack, the outcome was obvious.

Lexus attacked from the front, while the Blade Mantis struck from behind. The mantis’s weakness of being unable to protect its rear was magnified, and it fell in a pool of green blood after a few moves.

...

“Powerful Behemoth warrior, this is the mantis I summoned. It seems the forest environment allows it to display even greater strength.” Seeing the Behemoth’s gaze on the Blade Mantis, Liu Siyi was really worried it might suddenly attack, so he quickly said.

“It’s very good.” The Behemoth didn’t say much, watching the Blade Mantis stand below the three people and three mounts, then disappear into the forest.

The moment the battle began, Liu Siyi had already recruited the mantis, having it hide nearby to deliver a fatal blow at any time. From the current situation, the effect was quite good.

“What do you think? Now you should believe me, I’ve said before, I have no ill intentions towards you.” Liu Siyi said loudly.

“Yes, I apologize for my previous misunderstanding.” The Behemoth was a bit awkward, his eyes wandering, not daring to look at the other’s eyes.

“Speaking of the battle, to be honest, a giant mantis plus seven mantises, no matter which side faced them alone, the result would only be failure. However, by working together, we can defeat a much stronger opponent.” Liu Siyi said.

“What do you want to say?” When it came to the main point, the Behemoth lost his unease, exuding a sharp and authoritative presence.

“You submit to me...” Looking at the eyes of the three Behemoths, even after the battle and the bond they had formed, Liu Siyi realized it was too early to bring up this issue, so he changed his tone and said, “I think that’s not easy.”

“From the current situation, this area is gradually becoming unstable. Any of us could face a force far beyond our capabilities. Therefore, I believe we can form a strategic alliance to face any potential enemies. That is, if our Beastman Castle is attacked, I will request your support; if you face a crisis you can’t handle, we will immediately come to your aid.”

“Powerful Behemoth warriors, what do you think?” Liu Siyi asked finally.

“Alright, we agree.” The three Behemoths discussed quietly, mainly the Behemoth and the third Behemoth. After a while, the Behemoth agreed to the strategic alliance.

The moment the strategic alliance was formed, a purple evolution light ball, unique to seventh-tier units, floated out from the six mantis corpses, while a deep purple evolution light ball floated out from the giant mantis’s corpse. The light ball from the corpse under the Behemoth split into two, entering the second Behemoth and the Behemoth. The mantis killed by the Blade Mantis absorbed the complete evolution power, and the evolution light balls from the giant mantis and the last mantis killed by the Blade Mantis were each split in half, entering its body. Additionally, three almost complete evolution light balls and two half evolution light balls entered Liu Siyi’s body. Why almost? Because a small part of each light ball entered the Witch and the Thunder Eagle, who contributed the least to the kill.

As for Lexus, although he contributed greatly, he was a summoned creature, and the evolution power from a kill by a summoned creature belonged entirely to the summoner.

Three Thunder God’s Spears eliminated three mantises, severely injuring the giant mantis and an ordinary mantis, so Liu Siyi received the most evolution power.
