“Brother Yu.”
Zhao Yafu said with pleasure, “I’ll go visit you at the Divine Blood Sect soon. I will forever remember your kindness.”
She also hoped that Yu Yuan would accept An Ziqing’s offer.
As long as he accepted, everyone would be safe.
An Ziqing could assist Yu Yuan in refining the dragon spirit.
As the battle ended, she proved that what’s truly luring the spirit was her blood, not the flames.
The burning of flames only made efforts on the surface.
The blood, however, could truly release the dragon’s inner desire.
With the immense energy stored inside An Ziqing’s blood droplets, the young dragon’s spirit could easily be refined into part of her body.
In the end, the only person that could help her the most was An Ziqing.
“Look, young master, it’s for your best interest.”
An Ziqing smiled proudly at the results of her offer. Now everyone was trying to persuade Yu Yuan to come onto her side. “In this case, let’s just solve this problem peacefully.”
“Sister!” An angry voice interrupted her speech. “What about my revenge?!”
“Shut up, you useless piece of crap! Put that aside for now.” An Ziqing turned around and looked at her brother with cold threatening eyes. “Our plan has already failed, and it will be impossible to get enough material for you to attempt Yin God again any time soon. Don’t worry though, I’ll get you all that when we return.”
“But, if it isn’t for them, I would have succeeded!” He yelled.
An Ziqing didn’t bother to continue talking. She silently stared at her brother with her cold dark eyes.
The eyes seemed to contain some tremendous threatening power, making the “messenger” of the Divine Blood Sect quiver in what might happen to him. He quietly and quickly whispered, “Okay… Okay then. Whatever you wish.”
“Ha! That’s better.” An Ziqing’s cold suddenly turned into a bright smile as she turned her head back to Yu Yuan. “Young master, have you made a decision yet?”
The way that she treated her brother and Yu Yuan was drastically different.
How come she valued Yu Yuan so much?
Ever since she revealed her interest to invite Yu Yuan to the Divine Blood Sect, she always attempted to bribe Yu Yuan in.
Not once did she threaten the lives of people from the Yu Clan.
Perhaps she knew Yu Yuan’s temper. He wasn’t a person that would bow down to absolute power.
“Grandpa!”
Yelling across the crowd, Yu Yuan’s eyes turned to Yu Can.
“No matter what decision you make, I will support you.” Yu Can straighten up and said with satisfaction. “Seeing that you can choose your own path in life, I’m very proud of you… as for what you choose, that’s up to you.”
“Ok.”
Yu Yuan nodded, then he let go of Zhao Yafu’s hand and said, “You exchanged the Black Dragon Shears from your father to solve your situation.”
“Brother Yu, you…what do you mean?” Zhao Yafu was aggrieved.
“I don’t like how you are using her as a condition to buy me into the Divine Blood Sect.” Yu Yuan said with a smile. “That won’t work. In fact, your silly attempt to use everyone around me to pressure me into joining your sect is useless!”
“Here. This is the Black Dragon Shears. I’m done with it now.” Yu Li clearly figured what Yu Yuan was trying to do. Even though she loved that spiritual weapon, she still threw it on the ground.
At the entrance of Jinluo Mountain, Zhao Zhenghao and Zhao Dongsheng looked at each other speechlessly.
“Why cut our relationship to this point?” Zhao Zhenghao said awkwardly.
Yu Yuan’s unpredictable style of acting was far beyond his expectations.
“Oh right, Lady Mayoress.” Yu Yuan said as if remembering something. “No matter what happens next, the poison that has bothered your father for many years has already been cured. As long as he survives, he will soon be able to return to his previous glory.”
Yuan Lianyao was surprised. “What do you want to say?”
“I just want to tell you that I have done my part between our agreements. So, I don’t owe you anything now.” Yu Yuan was straight to the point. “So you don’t have any rights to impact my decision anymore. As for how the Divine Blood Sect will treat your father, it’s not my problem anymore.”
Yuan Lianyao’s face changed. With a gloomy expression, she finally said, “I won’t force you to do anything. You have done enough recently to help the Dark Moon City.”
When she thought about what happened in the past few days, she realized that if it wasn’t for Yu Yuan’s early warning of the appearance of the Divine Blood Sect and his precise arrangement of everyone’s positions, the whole city would have been doomed by now.
If the Sacrifice Formation got fully activated with Yu Yuan’s interference, Yuan Lianyao’s father, being the most powerful cultivator in the city, would be the first to die. His power would have been used to nourish the messenger from the Divine Blood Sect.
Those from the Zhao Clan, Yu Clan, and her own clan would also be used as fuel for that devil to advance into the Yin God Realm.
Dark Moon City would be a city soaked in blood.
Whatever the situation was now, at least it was better than that.
In that case, she had no reason to blame Yu Yuan for anything he does now.
“A melon will not be sweet if it’s picked before it ripens.”
Yu Yuan said calmly. “Since I don’t intend to go to the Divine Blood Sect at this given moment, why force me to? Additionally, if I don’t go to your sect, might it not harm our relationship at all?”
“Out relationship? What relationship do we have?” An Ziqing asked curiously.
Yu Yuan smiled, “Friendship.”
“Friendship?” An Ziqing looked confused.
“That’s right. I don’t care what’s your background or where you are from. I don’t care what is your true purpose of hiding here in the Yu Clan.” Yu Yuan nodded, “At least until now, you haven’t done anything that is unforgivable to me or my clan. I will only remember your kindness and how much you cared about me!”
An Ziqing stared at him blankly, with mixed feelings running through her heart.
“Friendship……”
For years since she stepped into Yin God, she was known around the Land of Extinction to be a ruthless murder.
By having the Divine Blood Sect as part of her identity, she had encountered many who feared her and more who wanted her to be dead.
Even within the sect, the disciples cruelly competed against each other. To stand out among the countless cultivators within the sect, bloodshed was inevitable. She never trusted anyone, nor did she have any friends.
No one had ever offered to be her friend before.
“Look at yourself, little brat! Who do you think you are? Your friendship is worthless to my sister!” The “messenger” of the Divine Blood Sect sneered. “Unless you are from the top three sects in the Land of Genesis or reach a realm that is truly impressive, your friendship is forever useless!”
“Shut your big mouth up!” An Ziqing said coldly.
The man fell silent immediately.
“Although it’s hard to accept, I have a feeling that your friendship might actually be valuable.”
Suddenly, An Ziqing sighed and said, “I accept your friendship! Like what you want, I will not continue my business here in the Dark Moon City, and I will return to my sect peacefully with the Fire Halberd.”
From her decisive remark, everyone felt relieved.
“Don’t even think about taking the Fire Halberd!”
A violent and powerful sound shook the ground.
The source of the voice was so far away that the speaker could not even be seen in sight, but the shock wave caused the rocks scattered on the ground to bounce around.
Yuan Qiufang, still strapped by An Ziqing’s brother, got excited after hearing the familiar voice.
Bang!
The bloodlines tangled around Fire Halberd burst into pieces.
The Fire Halberd flew high up in the air.
An Ziqing was frightened. She took a deep look at Yu Yuan and said, “I have to leave now, but remember, you owe me a favor now.”
“Don’t worry, I have a feeling that we will meet again.” Yu Yuan promised.
“Brother, put that person down. Let’s go back now.” An Ziqing commended.
Surprisingly, his brother didn’t resist this time. He probably sensed the potential danger as well. In less than a second, both An Ziqing and her brother vanished into two streams of red light, disappearing from the other’s sight.
Everyone looked up at the sky trying to find where that voice came from.
Under the scorching sun, a giant fireball appeared. In the fireball stood an old man with one arm.
The Red Devil Sect’s heavenly weapon, Fire Halberd, bounced around lively beside the burning fireball.
“Such advanced control of his Yin God! The Soul Wanderer Realm!” Yuan Qiufang said while walking to the floating figure, “I’m Yuan Qiufang. I cultivated the Red Devil Method for many many years, and now I finally get to meet a true elder of the sect!”
Indeed, the figure was only a Yin God.
Yu Yuan looked at this single-armed man with a weird look on his face. He knew this person too well, but never did Yu Yuan thought that he would meet this man here, just months after he woke from his coma.
