“Why did Fang Yao …”
Yu Yuan hurriedly stopped the rest of her question and said, “How they will treat your father depends on something else.”
Yuan Lianyao asked, “Do you know him?”
Yu Yuan shook his head, “No.”
“Then what do you mean by depends on other things?”
“It depends on how your father got the Fire Halberd,” Yu Yuan said thoughtfully. “I suppose that he got the Fire Halberd from the same person that he learned the Red Devil Method from.”
“This person is now dead, is he not?”
“How he died is the key issue. It also determines whether your father will be killed or not.”
Hearing his explanation, Zhao Zhenghao, Zhao Dongsheng, and Yu Can nodded in agreement.
Yuan Lianyao felt relieved. “If that’s so, then my father should be alright. The person’s death has nothing to do with my father, and it’s true that he passed on the Fire Halberd and the Red Devil Method to my father. They are both legit.”
“Then your father has a good chance of being accepted by Red Devil Sect.” Yu Yuan concluded.
Yuan Lianyao’s beautiful eyes gleamed, “Being accepted into the Red Devil Sect is one of my father’s lifetime wishes. If this matter is successful, the Dark Moon City will be supported by another powerful sect.”
Unlike the Divine Blood Sect, the Red Devil Sect had a great reputation.
The major empires and cities in the Land of Qianxuan often allied with the major sects or groups from the Land of Genesis or the Land of Extinction.
The Red Devil Sect was a powerful force even stronger than the Cold Shadows Sect.
Moreover, the cultivators from the Red Devil Sect was known to be just.
With the Red Devil Sect giving them a helping hand, the Yuan Clan’s future was bright.
Swoosh!
Looking up, the Fire Halberd returned with Yuan Qiufang on it.
Yuan Qiufang’s spirit was very weak and looked tired as well.
But from his excited expressions, there must be something good.
“Yao’er, I will leave you with a few words and go directly to Red Devil Sect.” Yuan Qiufang jumped off from the halberd. He then noticed Zhao Zhenghao and Yu Can and said with a smile. “Long time no see, old friends.”
“Congratulations.”
“Nice job making it to the sect!”
Zhao Zhenghao and Yu Can both congratulated their former leader of the city.
“I have to tell my daughter something.” Yuan Qiufang said.
Hearing that, Zhao Zhenghao, Zhao Dongsheng, and Yu Can all cooperatively walked away.
Just as when Yu Yuan was about to push Yu Can’s wheelchair away. “Hey, Yu Yuan, Stay for another moment.” Yuan Qiufang glared at him, pointed at Zhao Dongsheng, and said, “You, bring Mr. Yu back.”
“Okay.” Zhao Dongsheng didn’t dare to disobey his orders and left with Yu Can.
“How does it feel to finally be free from the poison?” Yu Yuan said while smiling. “Even though you dropped a few realms, but with the Red Devil Sect’s help, you will be able to reach where you were soon.”
“Yeah, I believe that I can even attempt to condense my Yin God again sometime soon!”
“You sure will succeed.”
“Next time when we meet, you will probably be a cultivator of the Yin God Realm or even higher.”
“What a great accomplishment!”
Yu Yuan was sincerely happy for Yuan Qiufang.
Yuan Qiufang’s face twisted and stared at him for a long time before saying, “I almost got killed!”
“Well, now you are fine, aren’t you?” Yu Yuan said calmly. “Isn’t this the best result possible for all of us? As long as you live right now, there will be infinite possibilities waiting for you.”
“Forget it, you can always somehow make yourself right.” Yuan Qiufang would admit that this was certainly a great result. He said to Yuan Lianyao, “I’ll soon go meet with the real body of Master Fang…”
“Master Fang?” Yuan Lianyao interrupted, “What’s Master Fang’s full name again?”
“He said he is Fang Yao.” Yuan Qiufang was surprised by his daughter’s abrupt reaction. “You know him before?”
“Fang Yao!”
Yuan Lianyao took a deep breath and immediately stared at Yu Yuan. “You’ve known him! I remember you bringing up the name before! Who are you? Why are you in my city?”
“What?! You know who Master Fang Yao is?” Yuan Qiufang was also shocked.
“I’m certain that he said Fang Yao’s name before!” Yuan Lianyao shouted.
Both of them stared at Yu Yuan, demanding a reasonable explanation.
“Sister Mayoress, please leave first.” Yu Yuan said after an awkward pause.
“Do you dare to order me?” Yuan Lianyao snorted coldly.
“Please just give us a minute.” Yuan Qiufang waved at her.
Yuan Lianyao glared at Yu Yuan and said, “I’ll make you pay afterward!”
She went away angrily.
“Senior? Do you know Master Fang?” Yuan Qiufang asked, “Were you friends with Master Fang?”
“Remember to not reveal my secrets to Fang Yao.” Yu Yuan’s face was dark, and he said, “I might change a lot the next time we meet. I already helped you and your daughter as much as I can.”
“I see.” Yuan Qiufang took a deep breath. “I’m glad that you are able to help.”
Yuan Qiufang guessed that Yu Yuan was probably only a fragment of his true self.
He figured that Yu Yuan might be implying that his true self was somewhere far away.
How would Yuan Qiufang dare to not respect such a mysterious figure?
Because of his assumptions, Yu Yuan had always been a powerful man in his heart.
“I have to go too. Make up any excuse to persuade your daughter that I’m just the normal Yu Yuan. I’ll tell you more about me when in the future.” Yu Yuan said with arrogance.
Yuan Qiufang nodded repeatedly. “Thank you, senior, for saving the city. I will not forget your kindness.”
Yu Yuan turned and walked away.
He walked to Yuan Lianyao and said, “Sister Mayoress, your father has something to tell you. We can talk later if you have something else to tell me.”
“The empire has a grand event happening soon.” Yuan Lianyao looked at him. “Every city in the empire has a few slots, but are very limited. I’ll offer you one of the slots to attend as a thank you for what you have done. By the way, my nine lotus are also obtained from that place.”
Yu Yuan raised his eyebrows. “Really? I’ll consider it.”
Before Yuan Lianyao could speak again, he walked past her toward the path to the city.
Shortly after…
He caught up to his grandfather and Zhao Dongsheng. He greeted them and said, “Grandpa, let’s return now.”
He nodded to Zhao Dongsheng and Zhao Zhenghao and pushed his grandfather’s wheelchair away.
Zhao Zhenghao and his son stood there, silently watching him from behind for a long time.
“He’s a star rising from the Yu Clan. One day he will shine on the entire Dark Moon City and even the Silver Moon Empire!”
“Perhaps, even the entire Land of Qianxuan.”
End of Volume 1 “Disaster in the Dark Moon City”.
Translator’s Notes: Wow! This has been quite a journey for me! Many thanks to those who have gotten so far. It really means a lot to me. The original author does not have any of these “volumes” in place, but in my opinion, it might be better for the readers to know the different arcs.
