Chapter 6: I am Yu Yuan

Cultivation was largely dependent on resources.
Talents, teachers, pills, advanced methods, and spiritual energy were all some of the most important factors in the speed of cultivation.
Meridian Breakthrough Realm was the basis of all.
In the Land of Genesis and Extinction, where the spiritual energy was abundant, native children were taught the methods by their parents or tutors at a very young age. By the time they got to seven or eight years old, they would’ve stepped into the Contained Spirit Realm already.
Among them, the talented perhaps could reach there at only the age of four or five.
Because Land of Qianxuan’s spiritual energy was very limited, only with help from professional masters and expansive pills, the most talented could only open up all twelve meridians around the age of thirteen or fourteen.
If the child could not finish Meridian Breakthrough before the age of fifteen, the child would most likely be considered untalented. In the future, it would be hard for him to reach the last four realms.
This means that Yin God would be the furthest the cultivator could go.
Because of that, in the Land of Qianxuan, those who still haven’t opened up all their meridians would be given up by their clan or sect. They would not spend any more resources on the cultivator.
Lin Zhuyun, backed by the Lin Clan and the Cold Shadows Sect, got to the Contained Spirit Realm at just the age of ten.
Unlike people from the other two Lands, anyone from the Land of Qianxuan could finish Meridian Breakthrough at just the age of ten was not ordinary.
If she was born in the Land of Extinction, she probably would’ve finished Meridian Breakthrough at the age of four or five.
That was exactly why the Cold Shadows Sect spotted her and viewed her as a treasure. She had shown her extraordinary at such a young age!
Everyone knew that as long as she was chosen by Cold Shadows Sect, the sect would use all their might to assist her on her path to reach the Dark Burst Realm.
After she reached the Dark Burst Realm, the elder would lead her to the Cold Shadows Sect in person and accept her as his apprentice.
“Finished Meridian Breakthrough Realm at the age to ten. At the age of fourteen, she finished Contained Spirit Realm and stepped into the Yellow Room Realm. Another three years have passed, I wonder which stage of the Yellow Room Realm is my fiancee in right now? Middle Stage? Or Late Stage?”
After another cycle of an attack on the ninth meridian, Yu Yuan finally opened his eyes and ended his tiring cultivation process.
He thought about it for a while. With the help of the Nine Bright Heavenly Cycles, his ninth meridian was about ten percent opened.
He believed that as long as he practiced diligently, even with the minimal spiritual energy here, his ninth meridian would soon be “plowed” open.
But he still felt that the progress was still too slow.
“I am the Leader of the Devine Medicine Sect! Even though the Yu Clan is only at the bottom of the medical supply chain, but it should still have some of the basic herbs for cultivation. As long as I use all my skills, anything can be useful. If I don’t do that, my work from my past life will be such a waste. The Ultimate Body will be such a waste!”
“So proud of yourself passing the Meridian Breakthrough Realm at the age of ten, aren’t you?” He sneered, “If I am born with my Souls complete, with my Ultimate Body, anything can be possible!”
“If I start a little earlier with my Nine Bright Heavenly Cycles and skills of medication, my name Yu Yuan probably can be heard throughout the Land of Qianxuan or even the Land of Genesis and Extinction.
With this inspiring thought, Yu Yuan stood up and ended his first real cultivation.
“Young master, you are finally done!”
An Ziqing, who was waiting outside the room, started talking as soon as he stepped out.
“Grandfather is awake from the fever already. He said Mr. Ning’s treatment was amazing.”
“When he learned that you have returned to normal as well, he was crying in joy. He also came to your room to see you. When he arrived, Mr. Ning sensed that you were cultivating, so they decided to wait for a while. Grandfather said that he wanted to see you immediately after you come out.”
“By now, everyone in the whole Dark Moon City knows that you are not dead. Many have come to ask to see you.”
“And also…”
An Ziqing’s words poured down like spilled beans. She briefly told him everything that happened when he was cultivating.
Yu Yuan also realized that it had been two days already.
Nine Bright Heavenly Cycles was so long, no wonder that he was forced to finish from hunger.
“I’ll go see Grandpa first.”
“Okay, follow me.”
…
The Yu Clan Garden.
“My grandson’s finally here!!”
Yu Yuan walked up close to Yu Can’s wheelchair and kneeled. He said with a smile, “For the past seventeen years, thank you for all your care that saved me from the suffering that I could’ve been through.”
He had heard so much from the maid about how much the old man loved him.
The old man stared at his grandchild in front of him and was hesitant to respond.
“What’s wrong, grandpa? Didn’t you long for me to wake up?” Yu Yuan wondered.
“Mr. Ning told me that it was a Red Shell Bloodworm that caused me to be in a coma. But it was you that saved me, not him. Explain where did you get such knowledge from!”
Yu Can’s expression filled with pain, “Tell me, is my real grandchild… not alive anymore? Are you a strange evil spirit that is brought here by Ning’s flags?!”
Under great sorrow, the grandpa felt his body was chained to a huge stone. He was almost breathless.
It was not a surprise that he had such thoughts. Right after Yu Yuan just woke up, Yu Yuan showed his strange and incredible knowledge to refine the Red Shell Bloodworm. It was impossible for others to understand what was going on.
This, of course, led Yu Can to think that his real grandson was dead and the one living right now was some evil spirit.
Even if his grandson was not very conscious back then, after all, Yu Yuan was still his grandson.
If his grandson was replaced by another soul, that would not be his grandson anymore.
“Grandpa, I am Yu Yuan!”
After Yu Yuan gave a decisive answer, he knelt again in front of his grandpa’s wheelchair and said, “There is a reason why I have been unconscious throughout the past the years.”
“What is it?”
“In fact, a master met me early in my life and taught me a secret method of cultivation. The special method caused my body to seem paralyzed, and because he wasn’t in the Land of Qianxuan himself, he had to break the boundary of space to teach me.”
Yu Yuan had a plan in mind already. His words were logical and sincere, yet none was even close to the truth.
“What? How can there be such a strange method of teaching in this world?” Yu Can was surprised.
“There are millions of methods to cultivate. Of course, some are able to break the space boundary between the three lands.” Yu Yuan talked confidently, “My Shifu never told me the sent he belonged in, nor did he tell me which realm he was in. All I knew was that he lived somewhere in the Land of Extinction, cultivating in solitary.”
“Each of his Soul of Heaven, Earth, and Life can be separated, which enables him to teach me even when he was cultivating. He taught me numerous methods and medication knowledge.”
“The only reason I woke up now is that my master informed me that someone is trying to do harm to the clan. Therefore, he temporarily stopped my training and that is how I returned from my seventeen years of cultivation.”
Yu Yuan smoothly told him a story that he just pulled out of the thin air.
“The Land of Extinction and such strange techniques… Don’t tell me that your master is…” Yu Can shuddered and naturally connected that to the horrifying northern evil cultivators. People there were so powerful that sects from the Land of Genesis won’t even dare to bother.
Vast World’s most brutal and terrifying cultivators were all from that place.
Yu Yuan nodded gently. “Although he never told me anything, I assume he is from there.”
“Ah!” Yu Can was shocked, “Do not tell another person about this! Cultivators from the horrible Land are the worst of the worst. Do not let anyone know that your master was from there!”
“I know.” Yu Yuan smiled bitterly and said, “Grandpa, I also need to use some of the clan’s herbs to make myself some pills.”
“Not only the ones that we have right now. As long as you need it, I will get it for you!” Yu Can shouted.
“Thank you, Grandpa!” Yu Yuan smiled.
“No need to thank me. You are my grandson.” The old man was relieved. He grabbed on to Yu Yuan’s arms and again hesitated before he said, “Yesterday your fiancee came to tell me that there are people from the Cold Shadows Sect that will arrive in the city. She wants me to cancel the marriage myself first in order to prevent attacks from the Cold Shadows Sect.”
“I know it was the Cold Shadows Sect!” Yu Yuan humphed, “Grandpa, have you agreed?”
“I said I will think about it.” Yu Can seemed a bit worried, “Cold Shadows Sect is huge. If I say no, they might continue to find ways to kill you. We cannot even fight off the Huang Clan in the city, how can we even stand a chance the Cold Shadows Sect?”
For the Yu Clan, Cold Shadows Sect, one of the top seven sects of the Land of Genesis, was already like a giant.
“Don’t comply with her.” Yu Yuan twitched his mouth, “Yin Jue dares to kill me and harm you. We at least deserve an apology for the Red Shell Bloodworm from her! Also, Grandpa, you don’t need to worry too much. I’m guessing that the one from Cold Shadows Sect is still suffering from the backfire right now.”
“Alright!” Yu Can nodded.
With his grandson aided by a mysterious master from the Land of Extinction, he again gained the hope that one day his clan might leave the Land of Qianxuan and return to glory.
He felt that such a grandson would be a perfect match for the lady from the Lin Clan.
Hope, once again, rose in his heart!
“Give me a list of all the herbs and items you need. I will collect them all for you myself!”
