I was supposed to feed her, but somehow I found myself in the opposite position, but I managed to finish my meal and exhaled in relief.

[It was delicious]

[Yeah, it was]

Saito smiled softly in front of her empty plate, and I was positive it wasn’t my imagination that she looked satisfied.

In any case, Saito was much more aggressive than usual today and is going above and beyond. Puzzled by this, I scratched my neck.

[Are we going to the cat cafe after this?]

[Yeah. By your request. I’ve made an appointment, so I don’t think we’ll have to wait long]

[Is that so? Fufufu, I’m looking forward to it. What kind of cats do they have?]

I could tell she was really looking forward to it from the way she smiled cheerfully with her eyes narrowing.

[From what I’ve seen, there’s a lot of different cats. I know one of them, was it called a Munchkin? I remember seeing one]

[That sounds right. Munchkins, is it? They’re small and cute, aren’t they? I often see them on TV, but I’ve never seen one in person]

[Really? I thought you’d look at them in a pet store or something]

[H-how do you know about that?]

Saito’s eyes popped and her voice rose slightly in surprise.

I could easily picture Saito standing in front of a pet store looking blankly at a car, so I just mentioned it as an afterthought, but it looks like I was correct.

[Saito is easily absorbed in what she likes. Somehow I think so]

[I’m not that passionate about it, okay? It’s normal]

[I wouldn’t call it convincing if you’re the same person who was talking passionately about pancakes a few moments ago]

[W-Well, that’s different from this! A-Anyways, I’ve never seen a Munchkin in person, so I can’t wait to meet them]

Saito, having been hit by a bullseye, began to deliberately change the subject back. I was smiling because of the shame she was showing, but I knew if I teased her any further she’d sulk, so I decided to go along with the topic she had.

[Do you have other favorite breeds?]

[Let’s see… It’s hard to think of one when you put me on the spot like that. Ah, but, I like American Shorthairs because that’s the breed I had before]

[Ahh, I was wondering if the kind of cat I saw on my way home the other day was that kind. It looks like the kind of cat everyone often imagines]

[Yes. But that’s good, you know? Rather, any cat is cute. If they have that tsundere, pampering feeling, I’m sure even Tanaka-kun will fall in love with them, so please be prepared for that] (TN: the actual japanese did put in Tsundere)

[Well, I’ll be looking forward to it]

Saito, who speaks with more tension than usual, still talks about cats enthusiastically. I couldn’t help but laugh because I was right all along. (TN: About the whole passionately talking about something she likes)

We left the restaurant and reached the cat cafe. When we entered, a waitress was standing at the reception desk and cats were walking or sleeping behind her.

[Welcome. Do you have an appointment?]

[Yes, it’s by the name Tanaka]

[Understood. Then please give me your names]

The waitress came by and asked me to write my name on a piece of paper. While I was writing, I felt a tug on my sleeve.

[Tanaka-kun. Tanaka-kun. This is great. There’s so many cats. They’re walking around. Aahh!! Some of them are yawning. They’re too cute. Too cute!]

Saito seemed more excited than I imagined and looked like she was enjoying herself. Her eyes sparkled and she continued to gaze towards the back of the room.

[I know. I know. Just wait a little longer]

Where did the normal quiet atmosphere go? I asked Saito to wait, who was implicitly rushing me to hurry up, and I finished the procedures quickly.

Well, that doesn’t look like a couple, more like a father and his daughter xD.
