Chapter 60

Now in its third year, my school life has entered a new phase.

Hello, I’m Mary Legaria, 12 years old.

By the third year, you get used to everything, and various procedures run smoothly. I have decided to continue my studies in magic by joining Areios again this year.

“Yeah, the size is just right.”

I turned my body halfway in front of the full-length mirror to check the fit. Although it has the same design as last year, the sizes have changed, giving it a slightly different feel. My body is also changing from a girl’s to a woman’s, with the parts that should be prominent becoming more so, and the parts that should be slim becoming more so. In my previous life, I was often ill, so my body was rather thin. Now, seeing my well-endowed chest that jiggles when I move, I can’t help but smile to myself.

Speaking of the uniform design, this year I designed the uniforms for the prince and Zaha, unifying them with the one I’m wearing. It all started when the prince, seeing me, Safina, and Magilka wearing the same design, suggested that we should unify our outfits as well. Designing uniforms for the royal family was nerve-wracking, but I managed to complete them and had the prince order them from a dedicated clothing store, which will deliver them to Zaha and the prince.

“Miss, it’s time.”

Nodding to Tüte, who was standing behind me, I headed to the entrance hall.

“Well, it’s the third year. This year, I’m going to live a peaceful and uneventful life.”

“That would be nice.”

With renewed determination, I got into the carriage, and Tüte, who seemed to have understood something, gave me a gentle smile and sat in the front seat.

“Yeah, I know. I’ve been causing trouble for two years, so there’s a sense of déjà vu. But, if I can just blend in this year, maybe I can start over. Come on, me! I’ll blend in!”

“B-Blend in… Can such a pure and beautiful young lady really blend in…?”

As I clenched my fists and tried to motivate myself in the carriage, Tüte responded with a look that was hard to read, but unfortunately, I only heard the first part of her words.

Arriving at the school, I led Tüte to the Areios common room, sat in an empty chair, and watched Magilka, the class master, explain things to the new students with a warm gaze while trying to disappear.

First, I tried to become a stone by not moving a muscle.

A few minutes later, I exhaled deeply, panting, and drew attention from those around me.

“Miss… You shouldn’t hold your breath.”

“S-Sorry, I just couldn’t help it.”

“What are you doing?”

As I caught my breath and talked with Tüte, Magilka, who had apparently finished her explanation, stood nearby with her arms crossed in front of her chest, looking exasperated.

“A-Ah, Magi…lka.”

With a wry smile, I saw her ample bosom, which was probably unintentionally pushed up by her arms, and my self-esteem from the morning was deeply shaken. Without a word, I stood up and looked at her. When she looked at me with a puzzled expression and uncrossed her arms, I grabbed her bosom without hesitation, still smiling.

““Aah!””

Magilka gasped in surprise, and I, too, gasped at the unexpected sensation.

“What are you doing!”

“It’s still growing!”

As Magilka took a step back, crossing her arms over her chest, I looked at my hands, trembling, and was shocked by the reality. Last year, I had grabbed her chest in jest, but the sensation was clearly more voluminous now.

“Miss, what about blending in?”

“Huh!”

Tüte’s comment brought me back to reality, and I realized I was the center of attention. Moreover, the new students, who had been watching Magilka, the class master, were staring at me with wide eyes.

“…Ahem.”

I cleared my throat and sat down as if nothing had happened. However, I still drew attention from the new students, who whispered things like, “That’s the White Princess,” and “She’s the winner of the martial arts competition and a genius magician.”

(Ah, I should have scolded myself for acting out of spite just now!)

After that, I sat still with a forced smile until everyone dispersed and left the room.

――――――――――

A few days later, after finishing my classes, I was in the old school common room as usual, sitting in my usual seat and sipping the tea Tüte had prepared for me.

“I’m blending in nicely, right?”

“No, you’ve become the object of admiration for the underclassmen.”

I looked at the maid with half-lidded eyes as I sipped my tea, in response to my desperate comment.

“Because magic is really fun. I couldn’t help it.”

I put down my cup and wiped my eyes in a crying gesture. This year, we started learning different types of magic, and the one that made my heart race was levitation magic. When I was told I could fly with magic, my excitement reached its peak, and I mastered it in a short time, floating around. By the time I realized it, the other students were struggling, and the underclassmen were looking at me with sparkling eyes as I floated around effortlessly. Magilka also mastered it after me, but she seemed to be afraid of heights and kept turning pale and returning to the ground at a certain height, making me stand out even more.

“Miss, do you really intend to blend in?”

“…Yes, I’ll be more careful.”

As Tüte sighed and refilled my cup, I had no words to respond and hung my head. Then, a yellow cheer came from outside the open window.

“You’re quite popular, aren’t you?”

I stood up and looked out the window, where I saw Zaha and the prince surrounded by several young ladies and gentlemen, practicing with wooden swords. One of the systems the prince proposed this year was to create an environment where students from different classes could compete and improve together, essentially clubs.

(Well, I accidentally mentioned the clubs, didn’t I? I’m sorry.)

Currently, only a few such clubs have been established in the old school building. For example, while swordsmanship is primarily taught to Solos students, there is a club for Areios and Lalios students who want to train from the basics to a certain level. Of course, the young ladies gathered around are not there to train.

(Well, with two handsome guys practicing swordsmanship, they’re bound to come and watch.)

I watched the prince, who was practicing with a smile, and thought about how he and Zaha had grown into more manly figures. They had surpassed us in height, and their faces were now visible only by looking up. They were in the stage of transitioning from boys to men, and they were incredibly beautiful and androgynous, especially the prince, who was the center of attention for the young ladies. As I was lost in thought, the prince, who had finished his practice, took a towel from Magilka, looked up, and waved at me with a bright smile. Of course, the young ladies noticed and looked up at me as well. I waved back with a forced smile and remained frozen until he stopped looking at me.

“Sigh, I thought if I blended in with the crowd, my presence would be less noticeable, but it’s not working.”

“Yes, everyone tends to look at you when something happens. I think it’s probably unconscious, but it seems like everyone centers around you.”

“Why is that?”

“Isn’t it because you’re very knowledgeable, solve various problems, and are reliable? Were you not aware of that?”

“Well, I did use my past life’s memories to give advice and discipline those who didn’t listen… Yeah, that’s probably it.”

I slumped back into my chair, feeling exhausted.

“At least there haven’t been any major issues so far, and I hope everything remains peaceful.”

“Hey! Tüte! Don’t set up such a flag!”

Just as I stood up to stop Tüte from saying something that seemed like a cliché, there was a knock on the door.

(I have a bad feeling about this!)

As I clutched my head and screamed in my mind, Tüte hurriedly went to answer the door.

Thank you for reading.
