Chapter 11

By the time they entered the territory of the Baron Dora, the sky had grown quite dark.
Olivia and the others decided to stay at an inn in the town just before the one with the train station. The train would depart the next day in the early afternoon.
It seemed that the princess Florenzia was quite tired from the long journey, her face showing signs of fatigue. Seeing her leaning on the knight Legion, who was guarding her, it seemed best to let her rest early.
Alan, noticing the princess's condition, instructed the assistant Bakks, who was accompanying them, to have the meals delivered to each room.
This inn was one for the upper class, and the innkeeper, understanding the situation, nodded agreeably to Bakks's request.
Olivia parted ways with Syrus and the others just before her room, but she found it a bit strange to see Princess Florenzia enter her room with Legion. Since the princess had two maids with her, it would be normal to leave her in their care at the door. However, seeing the maids follow Legion and the princess as if it were natural, it seemed that Princess Florenzia always kept Legion close by.
(I thought the same thing during the tea party. She must trust him a lot.)
Even as a guard, a male knight should maintain some distance. If a male knight is kept too close, it could lead to unnecessary rumors. In this regard, Princess Florenzia and her guard Legion seemed to be a bit too close.
However, since the princess's maids didn't seem to find it strange, it wasn't something Olivia should comment on.
Deciding not to worry about it, Olivia entered her room and changed with Taylor's help. Soon, the meal was delivered. While eating, Taylor asked the room attendant to prepare the bathtub for her.
After finishing her meal and soaking in the bath, a deep sigh escaped her lips. Although not as much as Princess Florenzia, Olivia was also quite tired. The muscles that had stiffened from sitting for so long began to relax, and she almost dozed off in the bath.
(Tomorrow, we'll be on the train. ...It'll be fine, it's the second time. I'm not scared.)
She had put on a brave face for Syrus, but it would be a lie to say she wasn't anxious. After all, the train was much faster than a carriage. It made a lot of noise. The thought of it derailing was scary.
(It will be fine.)
The more she tried to convince herself, the more her anxiety seemed to grow.
Olivia submerged herself up to her shoulders in the bath and looked up at the steamy ceiling, taking another deep breath.
