"I think quite some time has passed, but what time is it now?"
Olivia sat down in a chair in the locked room, gently placing her hand on her cheek.
Taylor, who had initially been rattling the door, trying to force it open, was now completely exhausted and slumped beside Olivia.
"Milady Olivia, you're being too relaxed. It's been about five hours. I'm hungry, so it must be around that time. My internal clock is fairly accurate."
"Then it must be dinner time. ... How troublesome. I wonder why we were locked in here?"
Moana said she would fetch a light, but there was no sign of her returning. Given that the door was locked, it was clear they were locked in, but the reason was completely unknown.
Apart from the window that was nailed shut from the outside, there was a small window near the ceiling, but it let in very little light, making the room dim.
Furthermore, with the strong sunlight of the day now turning to the colors of sunset, it was only a matter of time before the sun set completely and the room was enveloped in darkness.
"Even in a situation like this, you're not panicking, Milady Olivia."
"I'm not that calm. But it's reassuring to have Taylor with me."
Being locked in without knowing the reason, even Olivia felt anxious and was driven by a sense of urgency. However, she was not alone with Taylor, and she trusted Cyrius.
(Cyrius will surely search for me if I don't show up for dinner.)
And Cyrius would never give up until he found her. That's why she wasn't so pessimistic.
"Still, why did Lady Moana lock us in?"
"It's obvious, isn't it! It must be sabotage! After all, she's on Prince Edward's team."
"Sabotage... huh."
Of course, she thought it was a possibility, but was that really the purpose?
Even if Olivia and Taylor were locked up to sabotage Eugenia's team, it wouldn't necessarily benefit Edward. Regardless of whether Cyrius searched or not, Olivia was a guest from another country. If she disappeared, a search party would definitely be sent out. They couldn't be locked in forever. Even if they gained some time, it would only be a few days at most. If there was a guarantee that Edward's team could find the Chosen Sword during that time, it would be an effective move, but if that were the case, they would already know where it was. They could just get the Chosen Sword without locking Olivia up.
(I can't figure out what she wants. It's unlikely that she has a personal grudge against me.)
She had only met Moana yesterday, and they had only exchanged greetings. There was nothing that would warrant personal harassment.
"What a despicable thing to do! Lady Moana Arnett is definitely going on my blacklist!"
Taylor, fuming, slammed her hand on the table and declared this, then slumped onto the table.
"Ah... I'm so hungry. From now on, I'll always keep biscuits in my pocket, just in case anything happens."
Olivia couldn't help but burst out laughing at Taylor's serious declaration.
