Zhou Bai looked at the badge that was fastened on the person’s chest. It was an intern badge.

The hair of the intern was messy1, he seemed to be in a daze, and the feeling that the person gave out was full of sorrow. When Zhou Bai took a glimpse just now, the person did not look too bad and had a little baby face, but it was pale and his eyebags looked heavy.

Did he just start working here and ended up taking the wrong escalator?

He did not push the button the other levels, was he going to the top floor as well? To my office?

Zhou Bai furrowed his brows, and asked, “What’s the matter?” He disliked people who boldly bothered him like this.

Jian Ci turned his head to look at Zhou Bai expressionlessly. After realizing that it was his boss, he hurriedly greeted Zhou Bai with respect, “Hello Zhou-zong2. I’m fine.”

The elevator skipped to the fourteenth floor and then, the fifteenth floor.

“If there’s nothing wrong, why are you going to the highest floor?” Isn’t that more suspicious? Zhou Bai thought.

Jian Ci was a little nervous, “I, I’m not going to the highest floor. I’m going to the rooftop.”

“The rooftop?” Zhou Bai continued to question.

“Just… to see if it’s a good place to jump,” Jian Ci was muddleheaded as he replied.

“…”

After realizing what he had just said, Jian Ci forced a laugh, “It, it was just a joke.”

1Messy: 鸡窝头 (jī wō tóu), which directly translates to chicken nest head, and I guess you can imagine how it looked like.

2Zong: 总 (zǒng). Can be directly translated to Boss Zhou, but I’m keeping to as pinyin and it will be used a lot in the future.
