EP 07

Upon meeting this delicate and gentle young man, Father Zhou was surprised.

His son had always liked girls in the past, and he wondered why he had a sudden change in taste.

Seeing through his thoughts, Zhou Bai said in a prim and proper manner, “I like him. It doesn’t matter if he’s a girl or boy, I have decided that it’ll be him. I want to marry him.”

His tone was formal and his face was expressionless. Jian Ci couldn’t help but curse Zhou Bai’s acting in silence – it wasn’t anywhere better than his own skills anyway. He even dared to say he “decided that it’ll be him”, did he take Jian Ci for a little pet fairy?

Apparently, Father Zhou believed him. As Zhou Bai had expressed himself in this manner, his father knew that he had already made up his mind.

A daughter-in-law had become a son-in-law. Although Father Zhou had difficulty swallowing this fact, he would not oppose them. After all, he knew about the reputation of his son being a wife jinx, and it was not easy that someone would be willing to get married to him.

In regards to their future generation, having a child would be easily resolved through modern science and technology. However, what Father Zhou was concerned about wasn’t this at all. He was worried that as his sickness grew with his age, he would pass away one day and Zhou Bai would not have a soulmate by his side to care for him. His wife gave her life away to cancer more than ten years ago, and Father Zhou had felt empty ever since. Moreover, seeing his son who was always alone without a permanent partner to keep him company, his father could not rest his mind.

He knew his own son well. Despite appearing cold and hostile, in reality, he heavily relied on his family and always wanted to have one of his own. Otherwise, his son would not have gotten married when he arranged for it. However, this child of his was bad-tempered and stubborn, and has difficulty getting along with others. He was unsure if his son would treat this young man well, and if they could maintain a good relationship after this marriage.

Nevertheless, the young man seemed decent.

The male was no exceptional talent, but he had a pair of clear and bright eyes, and good manners too. The moment they entered, the young man politely greeted him as “uncle”. When the young man saw that his cup was empty, he would refill it with water for him. One look and the boy looked like someone who would care for others well.

Father Zhou was lost in thoughts as he stared at the two of them. After pondering for some time, Jian Ci took the initiative and held Zhou Bai by his hand.

Zhou Bai stiffened subtly. He turned and gave Jian Ci a glare: What are you doing!

Jian Ci returned his signal: Your dad is watching, we need to enhance the plot!

Zhou Bai could only hold himself back.

In the eyes of Father Zhou, the scene unfolding in front of him was his son’s boyfriend feeling nervous about meeting his parents-in-law for the first time, and wanted his son to give him a little “love support”. He felt contented.

Father Zhou eventually asked, “How did you two meet?”
