After cleaning up everything, Song Mo went to bed.

However, unable to fall asleep, he tossed and turned. His mind was a pot of chaos. One second he thought about her lies, and the next second was the truth, and in a blink of an eye, her naked body appeared in his mind, followed by the scene of her sitting down…

Compared with Song Mo, Tang Huan slept very well.

She waited in bed, fully clothed, for an hour, but there was only silence outside, no angry footsteps or the sound of doors and windows being pried open. The longer she waited, the more at ease she became, and sleepiness gradually set in. As she lay her head on the pillow, Tang Huan thought dazedly, Song Mo was able to resist coming over to kill her despite being so furious at her, most likely because her words worked, right?

If Song Mo decided to spare her once because he found out that she ‘genuinely’ liked him, then he was either too kind, or he had more or less placed her in his heart.

He had already fallen in love with her? What a foolishly cute man! She couldn’t even recall doing anything nice for him. Except for the lunch in the afternoon, she had done nothing but irritate him. Did Song Mo like being angry at her? Maybe it had something to do with him taking away her first time. Those conservative men always thought that after doing it with a woman, she would be theirs. This was a deeply ingrained way of thinking. Flirtatious young masters like Lin Peizhi didn’t care about things like this, but old-fashioned men like Song Mo…

Never mind. She should sleep first. If he still didn’t make a move by tomorrow, then it was only a matter of time before she win him over!

The next morning, Song Mo got up early to get his meat supply, then bought four vegetable-filled stuffed buns on the street for breakfast before heading straight to his shop to get ready to open for business. After finishing the preparation work, he stood in front of the chopping board to wipe his knife, but he couldn’t help but steal glances at the restaurant diagonally opposite his store.

The two shops were only about thirty steps apart, and he could see the situation over there at a glance.

The Mei family restaurant also served breakfast, but Song Mo knew that she would never come in the morning, probably staying at home to sleep in? It wasn’t that Song Mo had paid special attention to Shui Xian’s movements. It was just that the restaurant was too close to his store, and her every appearance was so ostentatious that it would be hard for him to not notice.

Usually, he would act as if he didn’t hear her, but somehow today, he just wanted to see her and her reaction soon.

Song Mo had been secretly nervous all day, but Tang Huan never showed up at the restaurant.

Song Mo let out a sigh of relief. He was really afraid that she would continue to bother him.

However, as he walked back home from work, he couldn’t help but wonder if she didn’t come because she didn’t have the face to see him, or if she was injured last night?

As he crossed the stone bridge, he sneaked a glance at her front door.

There was nothing but a row of weeping willows and peach trees by the river.

With an unfamiliar and complicated doubt, Song Mo returned to his home.

He was alone in the house, which was as quiet as it had always been. Song Mo was used to it, but today, he deliberately lightened his footsteps, wanting to hear what were they doing next door.

What would the people in the Mei house do?

It was already dark. Tang Huan had just finished dinner and was walking around the yard to aid digestion. When she heard the Song house door being pushed open, she knew Song Mo had returned home. She immediately motioned to Dumpling not to make a sound, walked quietly to the foot of the wall, and listened intently to Song Mo’s movements.

She heard him stride into the front yard, walking slower and slower until he came to a halt in front of his room. After a fifteen-minute pause, he pushed open his door and entered.

Tang Huan snickered and quickly went to the backyard. The ladder had been laid down horizontally by her, leaning against the wall. She sat on it and guessed what Song Mo was doing based on the sound he made.

Tang Huan could hear what Song Mo did, but Song Mo couldn’t hear anything from Tang Huan’s side. It was quiet as if the house next door was deserted. Song Mo wouldn’t have minded if she was speaking loudly and reprimanding her maids like usual, but she didn’t make a sound. He was both curious about what she was doing and disappointed that his curiosity could not be satisfied.

As night fell, the two retired to their respective beds. As usual, the man tossed and turned, while the woman slept until morning.

Tang Huan was well versed in all kinds of tricks to deal with men. For example, the current Song Mo must have been curious about what she would do next. Would she stay away from him or remain shameless? When they ran into each other, would she shyly avoid him because of what had happened, or just pretend it never happened? And Song Mo would even observe the love in her eyes, trying to see if it was really that deep.

But the more Song Mo wanted to know, the more Tang Huan refused to grant him his wish.

After staying at home for five days in a row, Tang Huan finally changed into a bright red shirt and white skirt and went to the street with a fan in her hand.
