Chapter 70

PS: A new week, I'm asking for favorites, clicks, recommendations, and rewards, all kinds of requests!

Qi Ping and Luo Yi were both very satisfied, not only because they had shot a pheasant but also a rabbit; so now they had tasted both birds and beasts, which was truly a mountain delicacy. Although it looked like just the most basic kind, the two of them were still very satisfied.

One must take steps one by one, and eat meals one bite at a time; if one wants to experience the delicacies of the mountains and seas, it's not impossible, as there is plenty of time and opportunity. Now, they had slowly learned the true art of hunting, so there would naturally be more opportunities in the future, which was undoubtedly the case.

Qi Ping now quietly held the rifle, looking through the sniper scope at the movements in the forest ahead; this time, not only was Qi Ping not calm, but Luo Yi was also not calm at all.

The creature using its long snout to root in the tree roots was none other than a wild boar; although it was not a huge adult wild boar, its robust body and short, thick limbs indicated that it was not easy to provoke. Looking at the long, hard bristles on its back, this already made Qi Ping and Luo Yi feel the pressure.

"If we don't shoot it, I'll really feel unbalanced. We've finally encountered a wild boar, so we should at least give it a try." Luo Yi was indeed determined, as wild boars are not easy to shoot; this wild boar was not a super forest dominator, so it could be slightly challenged. "Besides, wild boars are pests, and getting rid of it will be good for your forest."

Qi Ping was speechless; he didn't know what to say. As for the wild boars being pests, Qi Ping thought it might be due to the difficult conditions in America, making it hard for people and animals to behave well, thus easily turning bad.

Wild boars in America can be said to be a rampant disaster, especially in Texas; although wild boars are an invasive species, they are now basically found throughout the United States. The harm caused by wild boars includes damaging crops, killing young livestock, destroying household property, and threatening natural resources. Wild boars can carry various infectious diseases and parasites, posing a threat to the health of other animals and humans. Now, the U.S. government indeed encourages the hunting of the rampant wild boars.

"Everyone says that hunting wild boars is very dangerous, as they have an overly strong vitality. If we can't take it down, we can run, but we also need to consider Jin Gang and the others." Qi Ping held Winnie close, really worried that provoking the wild boar might not be a good thing.

"My shooting skills are excellent, and yours are definitely decent. Let's aim for a fatal shot, don't listen to those rumors, can a wild boar really be stronger than a bullet!" Luo Yi raised the rifle and started aiming, also convincing Qi Ping.

A wild boar, such a large creature, naturally made one's heart race; Qi Ping felt that if they left without doing anything, he would definitely feel regretful. Qi Ping believed that with two hunting rifles, even if the wild boar had a strong vitality, it would have no chance of escaping, which was undoubtedly the case.

Through the 135mm medium focal length lens, although he couldn't see the wild boar's fierce appearance clearly, as it was over fifty meters away; but it didn't matter, Qi Ping was now aiming at the wild boar. Luo Yi also gave a thumbs up and aimed at it.

The two of them counted down in a low voice and fired almost simultaneously.

Qi Ping hit the wild boar's left side, and the wild boar seemed to jump up suddenly; at this moment, Qi Ping also noticed that Luo Yi, who should have aimed for the heart, slightly missed, perhaps due to the wild boar's movement, hitting only its hind leg.

The wild boar was seriously injured, and although it tried to escape, it was impossible; Dong Nan Xi Bei (the dogs) also rushed out to help Qi Ping catch the wild boar.

Although the wild boar tried hard to escape, it was indeed hit by two shots; after fleeing less than fifty meters, even a wild boar with extremely strong vitality was now half-sitting on the ground. Even though it bared its sharp tusks at the surrounding Dong Nan Xi Bei, it could no longer move, and Luo Yi, who quickly ran over, fired another shot to finish it off.

"We've made a big profit this time, we'll be able to hold our heads high! Take more photos when we go back, our classmates will be envious!" Luo Yi was very happy, thoroughly enjoying the thrill of hunting; it was just a bit of a pity that they didn't bring a camera, which would have been even better.

"This wild boar isn't that formidable, I think one person can definitely take it down, as long as their shooting skills are good!" Qi Ping was also very happy, placing Winnie on the ground; this hunting trip could be considered perfect, thanks to this wild boar. "Next time, I'll dare to go into the mountains alone, with a bit of training and some experience, I'm sure I can hunt in the mountains without any problem."

"Let's not rush it, your Dong Nan Xi Bei are indeed very capable, but they need to grow up completely. And just entering the mountains doesn't make you a hunter; you also need to pay attention to other knowledge." For Qi Ping's hunting, Luo Yi naturally thought it was normal; with such a good forest, not making good use of it would be a waste of life.

Having shot the wild boar, the two of them were naturally very happy; they also contacted the other group nearby via radio, which was Douglas and the others. This was a wild boar weighing over a hundred pounds, not particularly large, but definitely not small; it was already very good, and Qi Ping felt that there would be a lot of delicious food at home.

In the United States, the pork market is not very large, but for Qi Ping and Luo Yi, they didn't care about American tastes; this wild boar was a true super delicacy for them.

"Guys, you look like you've achieved a lot!" Chris exclaimed exaggeratedly, a wild boar was definitely an outstanding achievement, "We only got a few small ones, you guys are really lucky!"

Qi Ping and Luo Yi were very pleased, clearly having shot a super large creature; as for Douglas and the others, they only got rabbits, pheasants, and other small game. Now, Qi Ping and Luo Yi's horizons had suddenly broadened, as they had a lot of confidence due to their outstanding achievement.

As a novice hunter, being able to shoot a wild boar was already a very impressive achievement; so Qi Ping and Luo Yi now looked a bit overjoyed, but they indeed had enough reason to feel proud. Hunting, of course, means that the one who gets the better game is the 'winner'; now, Qi Ping and Luo Yi were basically the winners of this novice team.

After tying up the wild boar, they carried it down the mountain; although Qi Ping and Luo Yi didn't really know how to butcher a pig, fortunately, the final processing of the wild boar was quite simple. There was no need to be so meticulous and particular; just skin it and cut out the clean, edible meat, and the internal organs and such were not necessary.

The group went up the mountain happily to hunt, and now they were returning happily with a full load; this hunting trip now looked incredibly perfect, not only because they had obtained some game, but also because they enjoyed the hunting process, which was actually the most important thing.

They prepared to throw away the pig's head, skin, internal organs, and bones; Qi Ping felt that hunting had one benefit: not only could he eat a lot of wild game, but also because Winnie, the big eater, would have plenty of food.

Qi Ping realized that he used to think going up the mountain alone was boring, but now he didn't think so. He could go up the mountain whenever he had nothing to do, as it was his forest after all. One, to find some fun in hunting, and two, to get a feel for the place, which was also to prepare for the development of the forest in the future.

For Qi Ping, everything was now beautiful, and he knew that there were still many more beautiful things in life to come.
