Chapter 81
13 min read3,373 words
The next day, Jin Chengyu arrived at KBS TV station with all the relevant materials for the negotiations.
Actually, calling it a negotiation might be a bit of an exaggeration, as the entire process was more like an incredibly friendly meeting. From the start, both sides laid out their conditions, and in just a few minutes, the main points of the contract were settled. The rest of the time was spent sitting together, drinking tea, chatting, and then having a casual lunch together at noon.
The main tone of the contract had already been communicated to Jin Chengyu by Liu Zaitian the previous night, and with such favorable terms from the JS side, the KBS side naturally wouldn't make things difficult by proposing additional requirements. However, to be on the safe side and to provide more assurance, KBS invited JS to co-invest in the first year's funding for the show "2 Days & 1 Night."
To demonstrate their sincerity to Liu Zaitian, KBS also fully accepted the lineup of hosts that Liu Zaitian proposed during their first meeting, which helped to expand JS's network a bit.
From then on, the TV station took the lead in the subsequent matters.
In early March 2007, after being invited by KBS, all the participants agreed to appear on the show.
At the end of March, Jiang Hudong and others met Liu Zaitian for the first time in the KBS Entertainment Department's meeting room. PD Li Minghan explained the content of the show they would be filming and provided a rough outline, with Liu Zaitian supplementing PD Li Minghan's explanations.
In April, as future MCs of the same show, all the participants and the gathered staff, invited by PD Li Minghan and funded by the TV station, had their first gathering.
In May, the production team was fully assembled, the post-production special effects team was in place, and the broadcast time slot was determined.
In June, the time and location for the first recording were set.
...
However, since these matters no longer had much to do with Liu Zaitian, he didn't need to worry too much about them, and his life continued as usual.
But now, Liu Zaitian was sure that his peaceful life was about to end.
"I knew the overseas special wouldn't be anything good." Looking at the beach beneath his feet, Liu Zaitian ignored the shouts of the others who were watching the departing speedboat and, seeing the world laid out before him, finally muttered helplessly.
The whole thing actually started about half a month ago. When the "Infinite Challenge" production team announced plans for a long-term overseas special, everyone on the show was thrilled.
Especially when they learned that the shooting location would be in the Philippines and that it would be a four-day, four-night shoot, images of beaches, sunshine, and bikinis immediately popped into everyone's minds.
So, everyone started adjusting their schedules to free up time.
In the end, even Liu Zaisuk, who had a tight schedule, managed to free up four days for the special shoot after negotiations with JS.
However, everything seemed so beautiful at the beginning.
With excited expressions, everyone boarded the plane and arrived at the long-awaited overseas shooting location in the Philippines. But after landing, the director indicated that it wasn't the shooting location, so they had to get into a car and move on, and then take another plane.
After nearly twenty hours of travel, the initial excitement had gradually faded, leaving a faint sense of unease.
—The production team really did prepare an overseas special! But would it be the comfortable holiday they imagined, or would there be difficulties waiting for them?
All sorts of thoughts kept appearing in their minds. For a while, they lost interest in conversation. After getting off the plane again, they boarded a speedboat and arrived at the island where they now stood.
At first glance, Liu Zaitian was sure this was a typical uninhabited island.
The island wasn't very large, surrounded by the sea, with no signs of human habitation! In other words, apart from their group, there was no one else on the island.
...
"What are you going to do? Where are you going? Come back quickly!"
After shouting at the departing speedboat, HaHa finally collapsed onto the beach, exhausted.
"Brothers, didn't you notice that apart from us, only the production team members are here, and none of our assistants came along?"
Looking at the shocked brothers, Liu Zaitian turned around and stomped on them, "In other words, they already knew the content of this shoot. And if I'm not mistaken, this overseas special isn't what everyone imagined, but a standard survival special on a deserted island."
"Exactly!" At this point, after maintaining a three-meter safety distance from the hosts, Jin Taiho added, "This overseas special is called the 'Deserted Island' special, another ambitious work by the writers. The entire shoot will last three days and two nights, during which you must survive on this island using your own hands. Of course, to prevent you from starving or getting sick, a professional medical staff member and some necessary medicines have come with the production team, and these will be your food for this period."
Handing a bag to Liu Zaisuk, Jin Taiho finally finished speaking.
"Three days and two nights, Jin Taiho! You expect us to eat this?" Liu Zaisuk picked up the bag and, seeing only three packets of instant noodles (known as ramen in Korea), said in disbelief.
"Hey! Jin Taiho, we're human, not machines. You'll kill us this way," Zheng Junha said helplessly. Three packets of ramen? Not even enough for one of his meals, let alone for seven people to survive for three days and two nights. How was that possible?
As for the others, they all looked helpless. Soon, under the lead of Park Myung-soo, the group began to complain about the production team, pouring out their grievances.
However, Liu Zaitian didn't join in. Instead, he slowly walked along the coastline, observing the surroundings.
"Hey? Where's Zaitian?" After a while, Lu Hongzhe noticed that there were only six of them.
"Um~~~ He was here just now, right?" Looking around, HaHa spotted a figure, "There! Wait, what is Zaitian doing?"
Following HaHa's words, a camera quickly focused on Liu Zaitian, who was pacing under a coconut tree. Suddenly, he seemed to make a decision, took a few steps back, and then charged forward, quickly climbing to the top of the tree.
Then, Liu Zaitian used his hands to tear at the top of the tree, and a series of coconuts fell to the ground.
!!!
This was a situation completely unexpected by the production team. Although they knew Liu Zaitian was in excellent physical condition, good physical condition and survival skills are not the same thing. The production team could only express their amazement with a series of exclamation marks.
"Brother Zaisuk, are you sure Zaitian is your brother?" HaHa turned to Liu Zaisuk, stunned.
"What do you mean?" Liu Zaisuk was puzzled.
"Why do I feel like Zaitian is almost like a superhero sometimes?"
Um~~~⊙﹏⊙b Sweat! It does seem that way...
