Hmm. I’m standing in front of the increased luggage, troubled. It no longer fits in just one bag. Even though we’ll be traveling by carriage, it’s a problem if my belongings increase in case of an emergency. However, once you taste something delicious, it’s hard to go back to a diet of dried meat. Maybe Koushin can carry it for me a bit.
"Baggage, huh. I see, adventurers need to travel light. I’ve always relied on others for that."
"Ah, do I have to buy camping gear from Koushin’s supplies?"
Upon careful thought, Koushin only has the bare minimum equipment. He returned the armor and sword provided to him and only bought a cheap chest plate and sword when he registered. He left most of his belongings in the dormitory, bringing only a few sets of clothes, cash, and a chipped plate that held sentimental value.
"Then, let’s get everything from the guild’s store. Do you have a familiar shop somewhere?"
Koushin shook his head.
So, we head to the underground of the adventurer’s guild.
We’ve decided to move to a new town soon. There’s no pressure on Koushin, but there’s a strange tension with his former colleagues. I originally planned to move on once I reached a higher rank.
"Travel preparations. Are you leaving already?"
It was Harry-san at the store today. He looks a bit sad, which makes me feel happy.
"Well, it’s not like we won’t come back."
Still, with the transportation situation here, it’s not easy to come back casually.
"Right. Where are you heading?"
"I’m still considering. I want to go to a dungeon and see the sea. Oh, by the way, listen. Koushin is going to buy a horse and a carriage!"
"Haha. That’s quite generous!"
Koushin makes a displeased face, having been laughed at. I did say it, though. The comfort of the journey can change depending on the passengers. I think that’s part of the charm of traveling.
Maintaining a horse seems like a lot of work. If you have your own horse, you can go wherever and whenever you want, but it’s a lot of trouble.
"By the way, I’ve heard of a bag that can hold a lot of things."
Koushin lists the items he needs to buy, looking gloomy. He doesn’t like the idea of increasing his luggage.
"There is one."
Harry-san grins, sounding like a master.
"Hey, it costs 150 gold coins."
"There is one."
Koushin gives a thumbs up, sounding just as good.
"I haven’t spent much money, so I’ve saved up, and I had some extra income."
The extra income, that’s the hush money, right?
"No, really..."
"Having more space means we can have more luxurious meals, right?"
That’s true. We can buy more vegetables, flour, and cooking utensils. We won’t have to throw away meat we can’t finish.
*lick*
"See?"
"Y-Yeah, but 150 gold coins is a lot."
"I want to use it."
He shows me the small bag with the hush money. I remember he said the same thing when we talked about buying a horse and carriage. For him, this might be dirty money.
"Hmm, if you say so... I’ll pay you back a little at a time. At least let’s split the cost."
"No way."
Why are you saying "no way"? I don’t want to either. Splitting the cost means I can use it without feeling guilty.
"Late makes the meals, right?"
"What kind of deal is that? It’ll take a lifetime to pay back."
"Maybe not."
No, is this a proposal? Are you saying it’s fine because we’ll be together for life? Is this supposed to be funny? When I looked at Koushin, he tilted his head cutely. He’s being genuine! No wonder girls squeal.
"...Well, if Koushin wants it, it’s fine. It’ll be convenient for me too, and we’ll definitely earn more than we do now."
We split the reward for quests, but since I’m the one handling the money, it doesn’t really matter.
"Decided?"
Harry-san looks amused.
"Ah, yes. Then, I’ll buy the magic bag along with the items I’ve chosen."
"Alright. We can’t do the transaction here, so let’s go to the private room upstairs."
So, we carry the items we plan to buy and climb the stairs. On the way, I meet Harry-san’s eyes. He looks like something interesting is happening. I just nod and say, "Let’s work hard."
"Here, this is the magic bag."
The bag taken out from the safe is smaller than I expected. It looks like a pouch you can wear on your waist, a common leather box-shaped pouch.
"How much can it hold?"
Also, the opening is small. How do you put things in?
"Well, from what I’ve tested, it can hold about two rooms’ worth. Since it’s a dungeon item, the exact specifications are unknown."
"Two rooms? That’s a lot! Even large monsters can be carried whole."
About two 6-tatami rooms, right? I can pull things out with a flourish! I can buy a large tent, a pot, a griddle, and a frying pan, and stuff in vegetables.
"You look happy."
Of course, Koushin is happy. It’s one of the things I wanted as a reincarnation cheat. Something I thought I’d only get to see is now ours.
"Then, I’ll show you how to use it. To put large items in, touch the object and think 'put in.' To take things out, put your hand in and you’ll see a list. You can get things out by thinking 'take out.' The keywords can be customized to your liking."
"Wow."
I open the lid. There’s no dark space inside; it’s just a leather bottom. I put my hand in, but nothing happens.
"?"
"Actually, you need to register your blood to use it. See, there’s a magic array on the inside of the lid?"
Oh, it’s true. There’s a faint, incomprehensible pattern.
"Then, Koushin, register it."
"Why? It would be more convenient if Late registered it."
"Eh, no way, it’s scary. 150 gold coins? I might be carried off with it..."
I don’t want to say it, but if a small person like me has such a valuable item, I’ll be stuffed in a bag and taken away!
*snort*...
Harry-san can’t hold back his laughter.
"It’s fine. Multiple registrations are possible, so, *snort*, Koushin can keep it."
So, I cut my finger and register it on the magic array. It looks the same, but when I put my hand in, it goes in up to my elbow. Koushin’s eyes widen. A list appears in my mind, like a status screen. It’s empty right now.
"Wow. Amazing. The ultimate cheat."
The two of them are tilting their heads, but wait a moment. I’m so hyped up right now! I put in some coins, and oh, they’re listed. I put in a bow, and it goes in smoothly. I can’t stop putting things in and out. Next to me, the two adults are handling the money.
