After returning home and having dinner, Yu Luosheng turned on his computer.

He opened the League of Legends client, launched the game, and when he saw the exciting interface pop up, his somewhat listless eyes suddenly lit up.

His love for competitive games was deep-rooted and impossible to hide.

The interface loaded, and he selected the Freljord server.

He opened his friend list and found a familiar ID: Xue Yiyi.

This ID had a feminine touch, and Yu Luosheng had often suspected that his online friend, with whom he had partnered for so long, was a girl. However, he couldn't be entirely sure. In today's internet, you can't determine someone's gender without meeting them in person, and even then, you can't be completely certain, right?

The world is just too complicated nowadays!

Yu Luosheng didn't really care whether Xue Yiyi was male or female. After all, he always needed a partner to play games with, and even though this partner wasn't his most默契 teammate, he and she had a special chemistry.

"Waiting for me?" Yu Luosheng sent a message.

"Yeah, I knew you'd be online at this time on Saturdays. I knew you were a student," the other person replied quickly, seemingly waiting for him on purpose.

"Let's start. Let's try to reach 2000 points this weekend," Yu Luosheng said, getting straight to the point.

"Sure."

League of Legends is a tower defense game where each team has five players, and the goal is to destroy the enemy's Nexus.

You can think of it as two opposing cities connected by three paths. Both sides send out equally matched soldiers, and the players act as commanders. By defeating the enemy commanders and destroying the central Nexus of the enemy city, you win the war.

The game has two modes: Normal and Ranked.

In Normal mode, the system randomly matches teammates and opponents for practice matches.

Ranked mode is more formal, as the wins and losses are recorded. The higher your score, the more it proves your strength. This is a direct measure of skill.

A 1900-point Ranked match is for high-level players, while players like Wang Qin mostly play Normal matches.

Only players who have reached level 30 and own at least 16 champions can play Ranked matches.

Wang Qin and the students from Class 3 didn't even have the qualifications to play Ranked matches, so it wasn't surprising that Yu Luosheng didn't bother to play with them. Their skill levels were just too different.

When Yu Luosheng and Xue Yiyi played, they always took the bottom lane. Yu Luosheng played the support role, while Xue Yiyi played the main physical damage role (ADC). Together, they were a formidable team, and they were unstoppable in the bottom lane.

They won two consecutive matches, and both Yu Luosheng and Xue Yiyi reached the 2000-point tier.

Reaching 2000 points in Ranked is considered a significant milestone. Players who can achieve this are among the top in League of Legends. For a high school senior to reach this level is truly astonishing.

"I have something to do, I have to go," Xue Yiyi said after the second match.

"Already? Not playing anymore?" Yu Luosheng asked, puzzled. Usually, they would play until late on Saturdays and still feel like they hadn't had enough. It was unusual for Xue Yiyi to stop playing today.

"Yeah, I won't have time to play on Sunday either. Let's play next week," Xue Yiyi said.

"Alright, I'll play some Normals then," Yu Luosheng said.

"You can play Ranked by yourself too," Xue Yiyi messaged.

"Without you, I'm afraid I'll get carried," Yu Luosheng said.

"Turns out you rely on me so much. Actually, our teamwork isn't that perfect. Sometimes I can't keep up with you," Xue Yiyi knew Yu Luosheng was a great support player, and she sometimes struggled to keep up.

"Hehe, get a mic, let's voice chat," Yu Luosheng teased.

"Hmph, I know what you're up to. I'm worried that if I send my rough uncle voice to you, you'll block me right away," Xue Yiyi said playfully.

"Hehe," Yu Luosheng laughed.

Yu Luosheng didn't really care about Xue Yiyi's gender, but if she were a girl, that would be a happy thing.

"Alright, alright, I'll buy a mic. We'll voice chat next week," Xue Yiyi said.

Really voice chat? Yu Luosheng wondered if he had heard correctly!

He had known Xue Yiyi for a long time, and they had chatted for a long time on QQ. She had introduced him to League of Legends, and although all her online personas were feminine, she had never video chatted or voice chatted with him. Yu Luosheng always had his doubts, fearing that she might be an old man.

But now, the moment of truth was finally coming?

Would it be a rough-voiced uncle or a sweet and innocent girl? Next week would reveal the truth, and for some reason, Yu Luosheng felt a bit excited.

"I'm off."

"Okay, bye."

Xue Yiyi's name dimmed, and for some reason, every time her QQ avatar and game ID dimmed, Yu Luosheng felt a bit disappointed.

After she left, Yu Luosheng didn't play Normals but logged into another account with a different number.

To be honest, he really didn't like playing Normals. As a former professional player, the loose battles in Normals were too boring.

Just as he was about to click on the Solo Queue, his phone rang.

No one was home, so Yu Luosheng had to answer it himself.

"Luosheng?" the other person asked.

"It's me. Wang Qin, aren't you fighting with the Class 3 guys? Why do you have time to call me?" Yu Luosheng recognized Wang Qin's voice immediately. His old desk mate's rough, manly voice was easy to identify.

"Ah, Sun Yang's mom dragged him back to study. There's no one to play support. I can't let Xiao Ji and Guan Zi, who are only level 12, play. The Class 3 guys won't let me bring in outside help. I have no choice but to call you," Wang Qin said quickly.

"Just don't play if you're short-handed," Yu Luosheng said.

"How can I not play? The Class 3 guys said if we don't play today, it counts as a forfeit. And Yang Qianqian is here, she's wearing a skirt. You don't know how white her legs are... Anyway, we have to play. Boss, please, tell me what level you are in League of Legends and if you can play support," Wang Qin pleaded.

"How much did you bet?" Yu Luosheng asked.

"1000!"

"You're crazy!"

They were all from ordinary families, and 1000 yuan was two months' living expenses for a high school boarding student!

Yu Luosheng knew Wang Qin's family wasn't well-off, and if he lost, his father would beat him to a pulp!

"Lin Xu just threw out 1000 yuan, saying it didn't matter if he threw in 500. He doesn't care about money. I couldn't stand the frustration, so I threw in the 1000 yuan I just withdrew. Yang Qianqian must have thought I looked cool when I threw the money..."

"Bullshit, she probably just thinks you're a fool. Fine, I'll come. I'll play support," Yu Luosheng said.

"You haven't told me what level you are. If you're not even level 15, don't come. I'll find someone else."

"Beep... beep..."

"Damn, why did he hang up!"

Anyone with some experience in League of Legends knows that to gauge someone's skill, you don't ask about their level but their Ranked points. In League of Legends, level 30 is the cap, and in the community, reaching level 30 is just the bare minimum to shed the "noob" label.

Yu Luosheng had been level 30 for years, and he knew that Wang Qin, who was still hovering around level 20, wouldn't understand what Ranked points were. So he didn't bother to explain.

This time, Yu Luosheng was actually a bit unhappy.

Lin Xu came from a wealthy family and could easily throw out 1000 yuan without a second thought.

But for Wang Qin, 1000 yuan was his living expenses, and Lin Xu was clearly trying to provoke him to make him suffer.

If it were just a small matter, Yu Luosheng wouldn't have cared, but Lin Xu deliberately bullying his friend was something he couldn't tolerate.

What's Lin Xu showing off for? Just because he has money?

I'll take your 1000 yuan and use it to buy skins and runes for myself!

Hmph, one word—fight!
