### Chapter 2: The Gift of a War God!

Standing at the classroom door, Luo Lin took a deep breath and tightly clutched the letter containing secrets that his mother had given him.

Faced with the information flowing through his mind, Luo Lin was extremely surprised: it turned out he wasn't the only one who had been transported here.

Looking at this message, what did it mean to successfully enter a parallel universe? Could it be that this time his transportation wasn't an accident but a premeditated act? Could this be the result of some mad scientist's experiment?

"Damn mad scientist!" Luo Lin cursed, trying to ask in his mind using the thought-sensing pattern from the game in his previous life: "Give me a reasonable explanation for my current situation?"

A gentle voice echoed in his mind, and there was indeed an explanation.

"Ten years ago, the Earth Spacetime Wormhole Administration discovered an information wormhole connecting to another world within Jupiter's Great Red Spot. This other world is very similar to Earth. Based on the observed information, the Federation formulated the 'New Continent' plan. The first step of the plan was to unite the world's highest technological forces to create a high-simulation holographic online game called 'Ancient Gods.' The game aimed to recreate the power rules of the other world as accurately as possible, with the goal of training warriors to explore the other world."

"What does this damn plan have to do with me? Why did you send me to this hellhole? I paid to play the game! What about my rights? What about my personal safety? Is the Federation's human rights protection just a bunch of crap?" Luo Lin couldn't help but shout in anger. He was living a good life, and now he had been thrown into this strange place. This was just too much.

The AI brain was unaffected by his emotions and continued to explain: "Six months ago, the soul wave theory proposed by Dr. Chen Chutian had been fully matured technologically. This theory discussed how to replicate a consciousness as a gravitational wave, travel through the information wormhole into the other world, and reassemble it without damage. Based on this theory, Colonel Li Ke proposed the Pioneer Plan, which involved selecting a warrior from the game players to enter the other world as a pioneer. This idea was widely supported, and you were ultimately chosen. You are... number one..."

"Damn you, did you even tell me? I @#¥%!" Luo Lin couldn't control himself and spewed out a bunch of profanities.

He was chosen? How did he not know he was chosen? Was he a guinea pig? These people didn't even ask him before throwing him here. Damn it!

"We must ensure the host's mind is calm..." the AI brain tried to explain, but Luo Lin wouldn't listen. No matter what the reason, it was all crap!

After a long tirade, having spewed out all the profanities he could think of, Luo Lin felt his anger subside a bit. He then asked, "Why me? I just recently ascended to Legendary, and there's a Demigod player in the game, right?"

That Demigod was the president of the first guild in the game, playing a mage with incredible power. He was the only Demigod player in the game and, logically, should have been the best choice.

Think about it, a wise mage coming to this other world would be much better than him, a brute who only knows how to wield a sword and fight.

"The volunteer candidates were selected from a series of players who had reached Legendary and above. After a scientific comprehensive evaluation, everyone agreed that among all the players, you are the best!"

"..." Luo Lin was speechless: "Am I that good? My world ranking is over a thousand."

"There are three reasons."

"Then tell me," Luo Lin wanted to see how this guy would spin it.

"First, your profession is a warrior. Among all the professions in 'Ancient Gods,' we have the highest simulation accuracy for warriors, almost reaching 100% realism. For other professions, due to the limitations of remote observation, the simulation accuracy cannot be guaranteed. The simulation accuracy for mages, who use arcane secrets, is the lowest. The high simulation accuracy will help you master the various combat techniques of this world faster and gain the strength to protect yourself as soon as possible."

No wonder they eliminated that Demigod, who played a mage. And he, who shouldn't have chosen this damn warrior in the first place, was now thrown into this hellhole!

The AI brain continued: "Second, over the ten years of the game, your character had the highest initial completion rate for game tasks, almost reaching 100%. The character's death rate was the lowest, dying only once, and that was at the very beginning of the game. For the next nine years, you made no mistakes. Your cautious personality and meticulous thinking are the most important reasons we chose you, as we need a reliable pioneer."

"My luck is really bad," Luo Lin sighed. But the situation was what it was, and his anger and curses were useless. He could only face reality. He asked, "What's the current situation? Can I go back?"

The AI brain continued to explain: "From the current observation results, this experiment was only half successful. The host successfully crossed over, but the information wormhole collapsed during the soul wave's traversal, and we have completely lost contact with Earth. Based on the calculations, the probability of the information wormhole reopening in the future is virtually zero."

"So, I can't go back?" For some reason, Luo Lin felt a sense of relief. This way, he would be completely isolated from those who controlled his fate.

"Yes, in the foreseeable future, you cannot return. The New Continent Plan is also in trouble, and a backup plan has been activated."

"What backup plan?"

"To assist the host in securing a place in the New Continent and prepare for the future reopening of the information wormhole."

Well, Luo Lin liked the first part of this plan, but he ignored the second part. He wouldn't serve those damn people who controlled his fate. If the information wormhole really reopened and he had the ability, he would shut it down immediately, letting those experts and doctors go to hell!

"I have one last question. In the 'Ancient Gods' game, it's the year 1180 of the Sacred Era, but here it's only 1159. That's a 21-year difference. Where did those years go? Did you make up the history in the game?" Luo Lin asked. If it was made up, the level of detail was impressive.

"No, this history is real, at least it was once real."

"What do you mean? Did I not only cross space but also time?"

"Put it this way, space and time are one. Through the wormhole, you can travel not only in space but also in time. The earlier the time point, the more energy is required. Advancing 21 years is already the limit of Earth's technology." (Physics experts, please don't delve too deeply.)

"Then what about the future? Will the future that has already happened change because of me?" Luo Lin asked. He didn't understand these complex scientific theories; he was concerned about whether the future he knew would still be useful to him.

"It will change. For you, the future has become a relatively determined illusion. You came, you participated, and this world will change because of you."

"I understand." Luo Lin's doubts were resolved.

"To help you adapt to this world, the AI brain will communicate with you in a game-like manner."

After this information flashed, rows of data began to scroll down.

"Scanning host's physical information. Scan complete."

"Host: Luo Lin

Character Level: 1 (Ordinary civilian, no combat ability)

Physical Quality: Inferior (Being low-key is the best protection in the world of gods)

Gender: Male (This is obvious.)

Race: Human

Vitality: 10 (Indicator of endurance, resistance to toxins and diseases, and recovery from injuries)

Strength: 7 (A necessary attribute for a warrior)

Coordination: 8 (Higher difficulty techniques require more agile and coordinated movements, current level)

Special Combat Skills: None

Armor: 0.9 points (Ordinary clothing, barely useful, only for modesty)

Weapon: None"

Luo Lin was very familiar with these data points because they were identical to those in the 'Ancient Gods' game. He had played the game for nearly ten years, and seeing this data again gave him a sense of familiarity.

Looking at the data, he couldn't help but sigh, "Tragic!"

In the game, a Vitality of 10 was the standard level for an ordinary adult, and he currently only had one attribute at 10, thanks to the healing spell from Priest Conward. The rest were generally low.

The inferior quality also left Luo Lin speechless. In the game, quality represented innate talent, ranging from inferior to ordinary, excellent, elite, legendary, and mythic.

Quality was crucial, affecting the character's level cap, base attributes, and attribute bonuses.

For example, a level 10 inferior character had the same attributes as a level 1 mythic beginner. Moreover, this inferior character could never reach level 20, as his talent was limited.

To advance to a Legendary warrior, your physical quality had to be Legendary.

Thinking about the original owner of this body, a malnourished teenager, Luo Lin wasn't surprised by the tragic data. He was more concerned about whether there was a way to change it.

"It can be changed." The AI brain's confirmation reassured Luo Lin.

The data in his mind hadn't stopped, and another message appeared.

"Task system activated. The AI brain will continuously monitor the environment and issue tasks to the host. Completing tasks will earn the host experience points. Accumulating experience points will allow the player to level up and gain attribute points to strengthen the body. Additionally, defeating various opponents will also earn experience points."

Luo Lin was a bit skeptical: "Isn't this too convenient? You just revealed the game mechanics, and now I'm stuck here?"

"The psychological analysts of the New Continent Plan believe that continuous unearned gains will not make you a true strong person; it will only drive you to madness and destruction. Only by improving step by step through effort can you possibly become a true war god who can influence the continent," the AI brain explained logically.

"I've played a warrior for ten years; I know what to do." Luo Lin argued. If his talent was for a mage or a priest, he might not be confident, but this warrior talent system was almost second nature to him. Could he really not handle it?

"Please note, the game's simulation of the real world is very high, but it does not represent the real world. You must gradually understand this world because any small mistake could cost you your life. Here, there is no respawn point!"

"But..." He still felt that gradually gaining experience and leveling up was too much of a grind.

"Luo Lin, please note a fact," the AI brain added: "I am just a program, and I faithfully execute the commands of the program developers. This is unchangeable and allows no flexibility!"

This statement extinguished all of Luo Lin's attempts to find loopholes: "Alright, you're smart. Then where do the attribute points for strengthening my body come from? This is the real world; you can't create something out of nothing, right?"

"This War God system was developed by Dr. Li Tiansheng and his team of a hundred people over five years. The energy aggregation system involves extremely complex principles, including the most advanced chaos circle theory. Your logical intelligence is insufficient to understand these principles, so I will not explain them."

"Alright, you're smart." Luo Lin gave up on asking about the principles. Although the AI brain's words were a bit condescending, he knew it was the truth.

"Alright, I understand your operating mode." Luo Lin roughly understood: "So, what is my first task?"

"There are no tasks available at the moment. To save energy, it is recommended that the host does not frequently check. When a task is available, the AI brain will notify you."

"Understood." Luo Lin acknowledged. The AI brain existed in his mind, and the energy it used was definitely coming from his body. Given his weak physical condition, he shouldn't overexert himself.

During his conversation with the AI brain, it looked to outsiders like he was in a daze. This young man seemed to be deeply affected by the loss of his adoptive father.

The old man beside him advised, "Luo Lin, we can't keep Amos in the shelter forever. With this weather, the body will start to smell in a few days."

Luo Lin snapped back to reality and nodded: "I'll take care of it."

He decided to give Amos a proper funeral. After the funeral, he needed to find a way to pay off the high-interest loan from the thug Malfoy. Otherwise, he would have to face the fists and clubs of the thugs Malfoy kept with his weak body.

He cursed that greedy priest again!
