And so, Prince Arowana returned to the sea, saying he would report the events that took place here to his father, the mermaid king, and obtain his approval.

We sent him off with a lot of vegetables from our field as a souvenir. Next time he comes, I want to be able to give him ham and smoked meats as well.

"Um... Sir, are you really okay with that?"

After seeing him off, Plati timidly asked me.

"About me becoming your wife...! I mean, it’s almost entirely because of the momentum, right...!?"

"Isn’t marriage mostly about momentum...?"

Thinking about the future, there are so many things that it’s hard to take the first step.

"I... a lot of troublesome things happened in the mermaid kingdom... and I found them so annoying that I ran away...! That’s when I met you. Being caught by you and becoming your wife was half a joke...!"

So, that’s how it was.

"But, living with you here has been really fun. The food you make is delicious, and helping you is very fulfilling...! Sir, can I really stay here with you?"

"Of course."

"Yay!"

Plati hugged me, looking genuinely happy. It felt like our bond had grown even stronger.

"Then..."

Next to us, the dragon Veil was standing there, of course in human form.

"I will also marry a human."

"‘What!?’"

Is this the kind of unexpected statement that dragons are known for?

"What are you saying, dragon!? Sir is already married to me!?"

"A strong male can monopolize multiple females, it’s quite common. If Sir is strong enough, he can dominate and control a hundred females without any problem."

"Sir!?"

What a strange way to address him!?

"I have thought about it! How can I take the holy sword from Sir!? If I marry Sir, our assets will be shared, right!?"

"Oh...!"

"If Sir dies of old age, I can inherit the holy sword as his estate! A human’s life is but a moment to us dragons! I can wait and get the holy sword without any effort! Hahaha!!"

So, he decided to go for a war of attrition since a direct approach wouldn’t work?

"Also, if I become Sir’s wife, I can eat his delicious meals every day without any limits!"

"Is that your main goal!?"

"Come on, Sir! Will you take this Glintzel Dragon, Veil, as your wife!?! Of course, there’s no need to ask! For a human to marry a female dragon is the highest honor!"

Hmm, after some thought...

"NO"

"Wh-What!?"

It felt a bit promiscuous to start looking for another woman on the same day I officially tied the knot with Plati.

And Veil’s attitude of "it’s a given that I’ll be accepted" was a bit...

"Why, Sir? Do you not like me? Is it because I’m so weak that I can’t even beat the Undead King on the other side?"

Veil, surprisingly, started to fidget.

Then, he began to cry, tears streaming down his face.

"What!?"

Being made to cry is definitely a foul play.

I had no choice but to try to console him immediately.

"No, no, no, no! I really like Veil! I don’t dislike you at all!!"

"Then, will you marry me?"

"YES! Yes, yes! I will!"

"Yay"

In the end, I was pressured into it.

Plati gave me a look that said, "What can you do with this guy?" but it really couldn’t be helped.

What else could I have done?

And so, I ended up with two wives at the same time.

The issue of bigamy... well, it’s not really an issue in a fantasy world.

In this world, a strong man can monopolize everything, whether it’s wealth or women!

...I’m not strong, though.

It’s all thanks to the gift from the gods, "Bearer of the Supreme."

I will aim for their happiness, not as something I’ve gained, but as something I carry.

And so.

I decided what to build next.

A house.

Currently, we are sleeping in a simple dugout hut.

It’s very crude and simple.

Originally, it was built just to provide a place for me to sleep and avoid the rain.

It’s sufficient for a single man, but it’s insufficient, or rather, completely unsuitable, for a family.

It was a good opportunity to be scolded by Prince Arowana.

Now that I’m married and the head of the household, I need to build a proper home where my wives and I can live comfortably!
